stryfe
I started playing pokemon when red/blue came out. Have been ever since. This is the game I have been waiting for. Wonder why nintendo or gamefreaks never attempted it. Looking to invest a lot of time here and make some friends. Thanks Reddit for showing me this greatness. Link to comment
Croix
Wonder why nintendo or gamefreaks never attempted it. From my observations, Nintendo has never had an established base for online play as much as any other company. Sure, in some games there might be online elements, but they're usually very limited. I think running an MMO with the ability to talk without choosing words already picked out for you would be a nightmare for them. Link to comment
Desu
The main reason I think they wouldn't, is that their current model is almost indefinitely sustainable. An MMO could only hope to be just as profitable, but has a large risk of failing. Link to comment
stryfe
Both answers make sense to me. Let's go with that, write it in stone. It is now truth. Link to comment
Drewzie
Big issue for an MMO is generating enough revenue to keep it online and to keep people hired to update it to continue to rouse interest in the game. Nintendo isn't very well known for updates since they have a firm stance against DLC as well as it takes a lot of time and money to develop an MMO. Link to comment
