myleswiccan
Hello, folks! I'm new to the game and currently adventuring through Kanto, but I'm a little worried that I might be making things harder for myself once I come to the end of the 'storyline.' At the moment I've been deciding which Pokémon to add to my team, and then catching repeatedly until I find one with passable IVs, nothing special but a high attack IV for a physical move user etc. But should I be focusing on catching Pokémon with 'great' IVs now, and levelling them up while I progress from gym to gym? Or is it better to do what I'm doing now, and then once I've gone through each region, gotten all of the badges etc to then focus on getting high IV Pokés together for pvp? I guess I just want to check what the most advisable way to play is, so that I'm not making things difficult for myself in the long run. Thank you! Link to comment
MrPeruano
Almost any pokemon is useful for the storyline so i recommend you to complete the stories and then focus on the good ivs for pvp kuplion, Seth, myleswiccan and 1 other 4 Link to comment
Seth
I agree with @MrPeruano. ^^ Good IVs are always better but not necessary to complete the storyline. Just remember to level your Pokèmon to the respective level caps (you can see that in your trainer card), and it will become a little easier to get through the story. Best of luck! Let me know if you have additional questions. myleswiccan and kuplion 2 Link to comment
