The Chat Guide

Hello trainer, today I'm writting this guide to teach you everything about the in-game chat ! 

This guide features clickable links, they'll be shown by a Colored, underlined Text.

First of all, This is the chat, It is located on bottom left of your screen (PC). 

To send a message in chat, type your message in the dedicated area and use "Enter Key" or click "Send" (See Image)

To send a Pokemon or Item in chat, click on the "Link Icon" this will open a litte menu (See Image) and select teh item/pokemon you'd like to send in chat. You can also simply drag and drop it to the chat.

Chat Tabs

Chat tabs are really usefull because they allow you to sort chats, there are premade tabs with different chat types shown. You can switch chat tabs by simply clicking on them. 

 

Icons

You can notice some icons on top right of the chat tab (See image).

The first icon, "Flag Icon" shows the language you're actually chatting in. Here, the flag is France, so my messages wil be shown in French chat. 

The second icon "Gear Icon" opens the "chat tab settings", you can edit which chats are shown in a specific tab, edit a tab name, remove or create a tab. You can also ajust chat transparency from this menu.

The third icon "Volume Icon" will open the "Chat Sound Notification Options" this section allows you to enable a sound notification for specific words that appear in chat. You can also enable/diasble whisper highlight sound from this menu.

The fourth icon "Padlock Icon" will lock/unlock the chat, unlocking it will make it more transparent when you click outside of it. unlocking will also allow you to edit chat size by moving you mouse to the edges of it. 

The last icon "Arrow Icon" will hide the whole chat, you'll notice a little icon on bottom left corner of the game screen, clicking on it will show chat again. 

 

 Chat commands

There are few useful chat commands : 

/ping - This command will show your actual ping an which server you're currently using to connect the game. (See Image)

/block [player name] - This command will block the user, you can add a reason after player's name.

/unblock [player name] - This command will unblock the user.

/w [player name] -This command will set your chat to whispering (dm) to the selected player, your messages will be sent there.

/global - This command will set your chat to global, your messages will be sent there.

/channel - This command will set your chat to channel, your messages will be sent there.

/trade - This command will set your chat to trade, your messages will be sent there.

/normal - This command will set your chat to normal, your messages will be sent there.

/shout - This command will set your chat to shout, your messages will be sent there.

/Link - This command will set your chat to Link, your messages will be sent there.

/lang [language] - This command will set you chat language to the selected one, you'll notice that the flag icon will change and your messages will be sent in the matching language. Ex : /lang en - will turn the flag icon to UK flag and my messages will be sent in english chat.

 

Chat shortcuts 

To select your chat type without using a command, you can click on the chat type before a message (See Image) Clicking on "Channel" will change my channel to channel, my messages will be sent in this chat. 

To whisper a player, you can click ont his/her name in the chat, this will change your chat to "whispering" the selected player. 

To show a "player option menu" you can right click on his/her name in chat. As you can see on the image, this menu will allow you to : 

- Whisper the selected player

- Whisper WIndow will open a whisper window with the selected player in a new chat tab (See Image) 

- Invite to Link will invite the selected player to a Link (Links allow you to gather up to 4 players, players often use them for coop events or shiny charm)

- Add Friend will send the selected player a friend request, if the player is busy, the request won't be sent and you'll see a system message informing you about it. (See Image).

- Block will block the selected player.

- If you're near to a player, "Trade" and "Challenge" option will appear if you richt click on his/her name from chat (or on his/her character). Trade option will send the player a trade Request, Challenge option will open a "Battle Request" tab from where you can select your battle settings before sending a request.
