ChihuahuanRaven
ChihuahuanRaven's Gym Rerun Guide (2024) This is a simple guide to help gather my own thoughts, and share my own gym rerun strats with others. I like brain-dead strategies with not much switching around. This is the best I have come up with, in addition to the inspiration of others. I also use Bills Strings and I play with a Controller on Android. If you hold the A button and have your desired moves in the first slot, it will spam through them instantly. This Guide has been updated to include gyms that received new warps earlier this year. Many Fire gyms have been cut out as better and faster options have become available. I use a standard Torkoal-Tailwind Setup with standard Typhlosions. I carry a Blastoise for coverage in fire gyms, or when a Flash Fire Pokemon is present. I'll give a reminder when that takes place. New Change: This new route allows for an open 6th slot, to allow EXP. training while doing your gym rerun. Simply give your desired pokemon an exp. share (NOT EXP. REAMPLIFIER) to start leveling up for free. Explanation of Moves: Torkoal has Drought to set up Sun. Cottonee or Murkrow with Prankster can set up tailwind. I personally use Murkrow in case it overlevels. I can breed it with a ditto real quick and it will retain its hidden ability Prankster to reset its level. For Cottonee it is 50/50 for Prankster to stay. Typhlosions run Eruption for obvious reasons. I also run Swift for the rich trainers in Unova. Swift has a faster animation than a lot of moves. Blastoise runs Water Spout with Choice Specs. Edited April 15 by ChihuahuanRaven qtAlice 1 Link to comment
ChihuahuanRaven
I have provided pictures and details of how I do my gym run. Most battles require healing at a PC, unless otherwise stated. Hoenn: 1. Mossdeep: Torkoal Tailwind Eruption Typhlosion (TTET). Solve the puzzle first before starting your riches charm. This gym takes the longest to solve in my opinion. You will save lots of time. Sometimes Wobbuffet will use Destiny Bond on Typhlosion. Just send in Blastoise if that happens. 2. Fortree: TTET 3. Mauville: TTET Rarely, discharge will will paralyze both of your Typhlosions and paralyze for both turns. Very uncommon, but something to be aware of. 4. Dewford: TTET Close Combats are annoying. Sometimes Final Gambit happens. Just send in another Pokemon if needed, no major concerns. 5. Petalburg: TTET 6. Rustboro: TTET Afterwards, do not heal while going to Sinnoh, so that your Typhlosion will be the first sent out to the rich trainer in Sinnoh Sinnoh: 7. Route 214 (Shown above): Enter and Exit Veilstone PC to teleport after battle. Go south of Veilstone, and defeat the rich trainer there. Use your Typhlosion and spam Eruptions. Teleport after to save time. 8. Veilstone: TTET 9. Sunyshore: TTET 10. Oreburgh: TTET Do not heal afterwards to save time. 11. Eterna: TTET This gym can be fought consistently without healing. Watch out for Grasswhistles, as those can slow you down. Note: I skip rebattling in Hearthome, as there are 2 teams that have flash fire and destiny bond, and this party does not consistently beat her. Note 2: I also Skip Canalave and Snowpoint even though they received new warps. They have Heatran with Flash Fire sometimes. I tried to skip as many Flash Fire gyms as possible with this 2024 revision. Johto: 12. Cianwood: TTET 13. Goldenrod: TTET 14. Azalea: TTET After defeating, you can log out and back in to warp back to the front room. Saves 5 seconds. 15. Violet TTET 16. Mahogany TTET Heal afterwards before going to Kanto Kanto: 17. Vermilion TTET Cut across the water to get to this gym. You must heal for this gym in case of a Politoed lead. You can risk it if you want though. 18. Celadon: TTET You must heal for this gym in case of a Dragonite lead. You can risk it if you want though. 19. Fuchsia: TTET Unova: 20. Castelia City: TTET 21. Cress: TTET Don't heal afterwards 22. Cilan: Use just Typhlosions. Don't heal afterwards 23. Chili: Switch one of the Typhlosions with Blastoise just for this battle. 24. Icirrus TTET 25. Mistralton TTET 26. Driftview: TTET 27. Nimbasa TTET If Galvantula and Manectric are used, send Typhlosion and Blastoise. This is a Flash Fire set Note: You can go to Nacrene instead, though it did not receive a warp in the gym update. It will take some time to run in and out of. 28-29. Route 13 Rich trainers: Spam Swift with Typhlosion on all Pokemon. I am open to suggestions to build on this, but this is what I have found so far that has worked for me. Thanks for reading!
