Question

Give the power to flutes!

This Flutes were introduced on Pokemon Esmerald, more info about them here: https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Flute

In PokeMMO and Black/White they haven't got any effects.

Default behavior (original game). They can be used on battle.

  • Blue Flute: Awakens a sleeping Pokémon.
  • Yellow Flute: Snaps a Pokémon out of confusion.
  • Red Flute: Snaps a Pokémon out of infatuation.
  • Black Flute: Reduces the wild Pokémon encounter rate. Also, Increases the level of wild Pokémon by 1–4
  • White Flute: Increases the wild Pokémon encounter rate. Decreases the level of wild Pokémon by 1–4

At the moment, we don't have any item to stop confusion and infatuation.

So, having the Yellow and Red flutes will be good for game. Of course, they can be banned on PVP.

The only problem I see is about Blue Flute, the behavior should be changed.

I'm looking for ideas. Please, post them here.

What about White flute? Well, about White I have a good idea.

To search pokemons we must run on the wild. Why using this archaic method?

We can use White flute to automatic encounter on the wild.

So, my suggestions are:

  • Blue Flute: Looking for new idea
  • Yellow Flute: Snaps a Pokémon out of confusion.
  • Red Flute: Snaps a Pokémon out of infatuation.
  • Black Flute: When used, instantly gets an encounter wild Pokémon at his highest level.
  • White Flute: When used, instantly gets an encounter wild Pokémon.

Let we see Ash with all the flutes:

I feel like the flutes being disabled has more to do with their unwillingness to code them than any other balance issues, to be honest

So, maybe it's time to code them.

They will be useful, above all the suggestion about White flute. It's something new and really useful for all.

And we are sure they are flutes right?

What? The Ash picture? Of course, look at the colours of flutes and compare
