Orangeslash
but did chest+tri like a true chestbrah doh, it is Monday after all[ same. usually have a gymbro with me but i was flying solo today. was feeling strong so i put 290 (131.5 KG) on bench on the 4th set. didn't get a spot and almost got stuck the sheer willpower of not wanting to embarrass myself in front of gym qts helped me get through it. lesson: always get a spot no matter how confident you are Emlee, Kazooka and DoubleJ 3 Link to comment

XelaKebert
Did a 2-3 mile hike this morning with a 10 pound weight in my pack, plus some extra fluff to keep the pack from sagging and causing back issues. Then went and dug up some trees and railroad ties. Feels good. DoubleJ, Orangeslash and Emlee 3 Link to comment

EDIT motivate me emlee. if you do i'll actually post a pic. Despite how extreme this sounds there are studies behind the idea of meditation and pain control. The power of the mind is incredible and one only has to look at the fact that the compounds by which we develop our psychotropics are already established neurotransmitters in the brain. Serotonin, dopamine, the things that make us feel and love, they're already within us and the goal is simply to channel our mind and brain into creating these drugs naturally. Relaxing and finding peace, well that is evidence of these drugs being released. But the question is, how powerful can our natural selves be in preventing or decreasing pain? Is there a possibility that the neccesity of narcotics will cease to exist? No. flavajabari 1 Link to comment

DoubleJ
The solution isn't found in whether it works but in the strength of the presenting individual. We inherently lack the power to repress our own pain once the "shock" settles as we are weak to acute trauma. Now speaking on behalf of chronic pain I see promise in this. Link to comment

Once the body has entered deep sleep stages it takes a pretty strong shock to wake someone up. The body has shut down most of the nervous system in order to prevent you from acting out your dreams, this includes pain receptors. Kiliminati 1 Link to comment
