  1. With the introduction of 4th gen stuff a lot of threats are becoming much more versatile. Heracross has like 4 viable sets, special attackers all have two, some can trick, lifeorb gives a whole new meaning to power houses like gyaradose and blaze. I kind of feel like team preview would be good for the meta because this new power may make it too difficult to scout teams out.

  2. Yea, i understand that the tiering process is going to be long but damn it seems like you people just want to find anything and everything to complain about. I like that the meta is going to change, i like that there are going to be new and exciting threats to worry about, and honestly i think that these items are going to make more pokemon more viable which is awesome. We can freeze UU and NU as they are now, test a OU with a reset (maybe bar salamence) and then go from there.

  3. Since Pokemmo is based on on a rom game there are only limited pokemon, moves and items slots, that were used for debugging reasons on the cartridge games, so adding new items, moves and pokemon should be harder than adding legends, that are already coded in the game......that's probably the reason why only bits of future gens are added, to get on with future gens there will be probably need to fully switch to a 4th+ gen rom....Probably....

Edit: Adding to that, it looks like adding future gens stuff will incur in copyright issues, as specs/scarf names have already proven ( unless that a pooped idea from devs, you never know )

They are making dungeons for legendaries, none of which is on the original roms, which will make it incredibly more difficult to incorporate than scarf and band was in this non-expert's opinion. Also Scarf and Band already had the base code in the roms soo that made it easier to code

As for the copyright thing i think the names were made simply bc they obviously were a repurposed choiceband.

  4. Imo, defensive strategies won't be much affected by the addition of those items : we alrealdy play around cores on the physical side and specs users don't have the power to break throught chansey.

But it's gonna make offense more viable for sure as scarfs give options to revenge kill fast threats that are really dangerous for offense such as zam, jolteon, starmie, aero, etc.

EDIT : in OU at least, UU and NU specs users are gonna be real threats.

I know that the Offensive team that i ran had real trouble with aero. Not anymore doe.

  5. I wouldn't rule that out and presumed that may have been the case. It's just if the was the case they should have just waited to finish that before throwing out these changes in my opinion at least.

Also regardless of if these changes are good or not Devs should really focus on finishing gen 3 before working on gen 4 stuff.

I disagree. 3rd gen is almost finished anyway, no legends and no milotic. Dont know what the hold up on milotic is but legends are going to need a huge update that i am sure they are working on. But we got the split with the assumption that we were going to get 4th gen items and abilities. Its been a long time and this is the first taste of that we have gotten to see and i am happy it is happening. It does make the tiers messed up but only temporarily, and fixing them is going to be fun.

  6.  So why is linoone not completely banworthy from OU? Because it requires team support to pull off a clean flail sweep and it takes a pretty good matchup to use the team support to pull off the flail sweep.

Okay right here you gave the reason why linoone isnt considered banworthy. You could have stopped here and been 100% correct.

As you are able to scout ahead, you can potentially plan against linoone, by either running offense and preventing linoone from setting up (sometimes difficult as offensive teams might give linoone opportunities to set up still like pursuit aero, or they run one defensive pokemon as a backbone of the team and allows linoone to set up) or you can run defensive pokemon like arcanine or dusclops in an attempt to stop linoone from sweeping once it inevitably sets up vs a defensive team. Some of us might not want to be forced to run haunter/dusclops/arcanine to prevent linoone from sweeping through our teams, so we are given the opportunity to scout ahead for it. If your opponent is stupid enough to run a surprise pokemon like linoone two times in a row in a tournament, then you are at an advantage, but if your opponent doesn't run linoone before, then you can potentially be at a disadvantage again since not many people run dusclops/haunter on their standard teams.

Right here you went on a rant that has nothing to do with why linoone isnt ban worthy. Linone takes lots of team support to pull off a clean sweep (your words) and he is cleanly stopped by ghost types unless he runs theif which leaves him opened to being stopped by the most popular poke in the game. IF it was true that he was broken we would open a suspect test thread on him, talk about it, and NOBODY would bring up or take any discussion about scouting srs. Go ahead ant try it, or better yet go back into previous discussions and see if anyone brought up scouting. The dugtrio discussion would have been prime real estate for that topic but it wasnt brought up because it is not a part of the meta.
Also you are failing to realize that you cant scout the first round of a tourny. The fact that this cant be used 100% of the time disqualifies it as being able to be considered apart of the meta.
  7. Is it just me or is the community on pokemmo unlike any other? Ive played a lot of games in the past and none had a community like this one. I know its the only reason i am still on this game. Dont get me wrong its fun to play now with the new updates and improvements but the game has had its low points and w/o the community i wouldnt have stuck around through those. I have made friends, loss friends, made enemies, and i see others doing the same. Some people even end up in short and long term relationships that would not have happened if not for this game and its community.

Idk its just something i thought about earlier today, anyone else have any thoughts?

  8. No i wouldnt use hidden bracket as an excuse to ban something because i understand the difference in tournament mechanics and what a meta is. You know what pokemon walled most of the tier, had a trapper that killed it nearly 100% of the time and we still banned it despite the fact that we could scout? Blissey. Replace skarmory with blissey in ur example and you have exactly what happened with tha ban except no one ever brought up scouting because if they did they would make themselves look extremely stupid.

I mean listen at what you are saying. Actually read it out loud and listen to it. "Or if there is a op pokemon and there is one decent answer to it that is actually vailable, you can scout for it and then run the viable pokemon". Youre essentually advocating for leaving op pokemon in the tier bc you can scout for it. If there is another way to look at that statement plz enlighten me.
