they said "characters" wouldn't be wiped. This is so that you can keep your friends list, Team and whatnot. They are really specific in the FAQ...seemingly. EDIT: Wiping Pokemon would be possibly done to assure that everyone has equal footing as they move into Beta, which would be more akin to the final version of this game. Such a switch in phases could bring massive changes to the meta game, more massive than we have seen yet. Things could get rolled back to something that worked in an earlier Alpha patch, or stuff may be changed completely from anything we have seen yet. :) It's all good, but you may not see that now.

From what I hear, isn't the argument invalid in the long run? I mean, when this goes to Beta/live (if ever), aren't the Pokemon we have been collecting getting wiped? It won't really matter if the "economy" or the "meta game" is out of whack right now, correct? As much as I hate the thought of losing my shiny Slugma...I cannot be opposed to change simply because I dislike it. :)

Because the current system is not accurate. 255 does not divide by 100 evenly. EDIT: As a more practical, in-game example, I can offer it. Friendship induced evolutions occur at 220/255 points, which is displayed, as some players say, as "87%". However, this is not true. 220/255=0.86274509803921568627450980392157 which the game then multiplies by 100 to get 86.274509803921568627450980392157, which is then rounded down when displayed. This leads to people spending more time than they NEED to evolving their Pokemon. It would be much easier to just see the actual Friendship points your Pokemon has gained instead of an inaccurate percentage. :)

How it is currently: Friendship points display as a "Happiness %". How it could be(I wrote "could", instead of "should", since this isn't a "should" kind of thing): The game stores the Friendship points of a Pokemon in a XXX/255 point format. My suggestion is to take away the current "Happiness %" format; in favor of the more accurate, "XXX/255 Friendship points" system in the game already. The new name labeling is secondary, I suppose, but canon. Here is a bulbapedia page with information on this. :)

Ummm just a conjecture, but you could try using Photoshop (it has a nifty graph display function so you can see pixels). That is how i did egg designs.... By the way, Moetal, would you be down for releasing a set of "default" or blank Moemon for those of us not so good at making human faces in the very stylized way you do it? I'd be down to kill some time making new Moemon!

If I used mods on the game, I may use it. If moving Pokemon could be achieved, then I would definitely break my personal ban on mods... :)

This thread is for discussion of the band Eisley. If you don't know who they are let me give you a little history. They are a band from Tyler, Texas. Formed in 1998, they consist of (currently) The DuPree sisters, their brother, and their cousin. They have a "trippy rock" kind of sound to them. Here is their Official page. This is why people are so sure they "bought" something. You donate to the game and they give you this buff if you choose to forgo vanity items. And shouldn't giant black wings and a demon mask with a bandana hat be enough to say "hey i donate", if you chose to look at like like that? Why should my name be green or w/e? EDIT: Merriam Webster has this definition for donating "n. -a person or group that gives something (such as money, food, or clothes) in order to help a person or organization"...The admin allowing you to get something from credit accrued from a system they made up for people who donate is just an added bonus. But these places that the Tickets go to are useless, so why have them in the game if there isn't anything at the destination to do?

Many MMORPGs have this sort of "AH/Player Shop" feature in them in some way. But guess what? People still trade in chat, even if there are designated places to do so.. Have you looked in Global much? You would probably understand what I am referring to if you have. :) What I am trying to say is that even when an Auction House type feature is implemented, you'll never stop the tide of stupidity.

Ahem, so I guess I'll start with my name. Oluthon. That is Oh-loo-thon (like the word marathon). Where does it come from? World of Warcraft, actually. There's this random name generator and I just changed a couple of the letters. I have been using the moniker since then. WoW was actually the game I was playing before this. When they added this "Battle Pet System", however, I found myself only fighting pets. Then I thought, "Why am I playing WoW just to play Pokemon? Why not just find a Pokemon MMO?" I like hunting for shiny Pokemon, catching new species of Pokemon (which is currently completed), and I have recently gotten into Breeding Pokemon. Haven't really started my breeding program, but I am getting close. I have only found one Shiny Pokemon in PokeMMO, a Slugma. Her name is 'Gallium'. I have one gifted Shiny Quagsire in PokeMMO named 'Undine', and a Shiny Larvesta I hatched on Pokemon X name 'Helios'. I am co founder of the Cobalt Knights. We are a "Support Team" We help new players in chat with various questions, hold tournaments (coming soon™), and help out the players in the game as much as we can. The namesake comes from the anime franchise .hack//. I originally wanted Crimson Knights, but it was taken...but the new name has grown on me a little bit. Made it easier to figure out a mascot too, I suppose. I have been playing since 2/22/2013, and have almost 2300 hours as of this posting (I am shy by about 8 hours or so). I haven't taken a "RIP" or anything like that, but I did get a job around the end of the summer and visited the folks over Christmas, which cut my hours quite a bit...But I guess those are good things, right? For a fuzzy idea of what the player behind Oluthon is like... Well, I am in my mid-20s, male, 140ish, skinny white guy. OMG! A nerd! I can see the general idea behind this and why it would be an acceptable feature. It would be nice to get some advice on an egg before you hatch it. However, since you can't abandon a dud egg I don't see the real use for this.... Plus most of the information players will need to give you a good assessment of the Pokemon is unavailable....

I have to agree with this 1,000% People will always find reasons that they want that mechanic, or this timer deleted, or w/e. But it's a never-ending cycle of people saying there is nothing to do, so why make that happen faster?

I didn't make the list i linked (the picture is a link)....and one episode shouldn't completely destroy the other examples from the normal episodes in the same continuity as Ash and friends...Canonicity certainly applies...(Although I do see your point with the episode with the Purple Kecleon, but it was just so cute I couldn't resist!) On a side note I totally get how difficult or next-to-impossible this would be to implement in the game in any way, just tried to liven up the post...sorry...

I did not say "canon for the games". Anyway, off-color Pokemon were featured in Pokemon Stadium and Pokemon Snap!, so that is actually not completely true :)
