  1. I like it. How feasible that would be for the devs I'm not sure. Would definitley help the PVP scene.
  2. Exactly! This idea is basically all thanks to Runescape's model of the ironman mode setup. Ironman mode in Runescape really helped to keep a dedicated set of players interested in the game for typically a very long period of time. I really like the idea of having a game over aspect as well. In keeping with the Runescape model, we could have levels of Hardcore mode. I can't come up with any cool names right now haha, but like Hardcore Tier 1, Hardcore Tier 2. Where if you die in tier 1, you drop down to tier 2, so you get to at least continue if you so choose with your hard earned items and pokemon, but lose that super elite title. Appreciate the response. Sorry I edited this answer after thinking about it a bit more. I think if they were to implement hardcore mode we would almost have to limit/exclude any type of trading between hardcore accounts. I'm thinking if any type of trading were to be allowed, it would have be limited to items (maybe just consumables?). Trading becomes tricky even between hardcore accounts, because it could take away some of that "grind" aspect that hardcore aims for. Thanks for the response, and I think trading items (or a small subset of items) between hardcore accounts is something to keep in mind going forward.
  3. Thank you, appreciate the response. And I agree, you still get the same pokemmo experience, just with an added layer of difficulty. Another idea that popped up, could be a way to add actual nuzlocked accounts to this system. I know for the developers that would be a pretty tough thing to accomodate, but if you had the framework in place to do harcore mode, it could eventually be possible to set that up at account creation as well.
  4. I believe one thing that Pokemmo is sorely misisng is a game mode designed for the most elite players among us. A mode which forces players to truly grind for their account through blood, sweat and tears. A mode that only thee most devote could ever hope to challenge and someday conquer. Let me introduce, Hardcore Pokemmo. What is Hardcore mode? This mode simply eliminates the idea of being part of Pokemmo economy. Everything you obtain and acquire would be obtained through your own willpower. No more credit card transactions to pokeyen, no more buying breeders on the GTL, and so forth. Hardcore mode would have the following restrictions, Very limited use of the GTL No player trading The hardcore mode would need to be specified during character creation, no exceptions. Hardcore mode would allow the following, PVP battle and point system would remain as is. Allowing access to the critical items that can't be obtained elsewhere. (Imagine climbing the ladder with your own hand raised pokemon) (optional) Shiny charms could still be purchased. A way for Pokemmo to still generate money. (optional) I'm iffy about mentioning this one, but GTL cosmetic could be an option. Again, to help Pokemmo generate some revenue. Why Harcore mode? Equality - removing the IRL money to pokeyen system gives a level playing field between the rich and poor alike. Fulfilling- Every pokemon/item you obtain and work towards would be so much more fulfilling. Hardcore - I really believe this would bring in and/or keep a decent subset of all players who like to take gaming to the extreme. This doesn't make hardcore mode a one player (offline) game to be clear. You can still chat with friends, join hosted events, doubles pvp, etc. Potentially a chat icon or some means of signifying that this particular character is participating in hardcore mode, for the public to see. Ex: Bragging rights! Of course. How Hardcore mode? Ok I know this point doesn’t quite make sense, but let me explain. I don't see this as being a terribly difficult thing for Pokemmo to implement. Your basically just limiting GTL transactions and removing the ability to trade with players. That's not to say there won't be any complications or things to consider, but as a whole I think it's very feasible to add this. Thanks for reading and feel free to post any likes/concerns/comments you might see with this.
