1. You completely disregarded all points I made except for that one. Listen man, I'm not here to start arguments, just to post my opinions on a suggestion. I like discussion, but I know full well that picking apart someone's post like that and only focusing on a single part never leads to meaningful discussion. The cons of this are very clear though. It adds overcomplication, in the sense that it's a mechanic that doesn't need to exist. Again, I feel the need to point out the "Too many toggles" argument, and adding on top of that the "Slippery slopes" argument because the "just one more toggle" way of thinking is flawed. Also people will generally take the easiest option, so who is this function targeted at? All the old users who are used to the old system will continue using that system. New lazy users won't like the extra menu box when they're changing chats, so they'll use the original one. There's no point adding extra options and menu boxes in the hope of saving someone from having to say 'wc'. As a random estimate, I'd say I wrong chat once every two weeks. That's 30 seconds max of waiting. Why would I chose to use this option, just on the small likelyhood it might save me 30 seconds? I'm sure there's plenty more arguments that I could make to further my point, but in the end these are just opinions and should not be treated as an argument. Since I've put my opinion out there and haven't got much more to say, I'll just lurk the thread. Suggest on bro
2. Oldschool Runescape is a prime example of what happens when you add too many toggles to things. There's meaningless toggles for meaningless things, and ultimately you just end up overcomplicating the Settings menu when you add too many toggles, so the argument "There's no reason this shouldn't be added, just add a toggle to turn it off" is kind of invalid here. Imo posting things in the wrong chat is annoying. Having nearly posted a link to a picture of an anime girl in a bathing suit in global chat(While I was a CM) rather than team chat, I know that sometimes it can be really awkward too. That being said, it's up to the user to make sure they're in the right chat when they send a message. A mechanic should not be implemented to make up for the negligence in paying attention that a few users suffer a short chat cooldown because of. On top of that, from what I've read and understood(And correct me if I understood in incorrectly) this actually makes chat more tedious. There's a reason the [Channel] image is shown right next to where you type. It's so you can easily see which chat you're sending a message to, and with commands like /gl it's very easy to change channels. Also, I think the main reason people post messages in the wrong chat is because they forget to change their chat back to the chat they want to be in, from the one they were in. The proposed solution doesn't solve this.
3. What does this suggestion bring to the table that we don't already have? Why would it be worth dividing the 'Client Customization' and 'Modding' community, when the current system of organization has worked perfectly fine so far?
4. tfw I want to say something, but I don't want to start a flame war cause I'm a good cat now Please don't encourage him. ayy this guy knows what he's doing

6. Best strategy for me was: Have a lvl 100 starmie with Toxic Toxic first phase, switch into Zard(Gigadrain is resisted 4x) then fly stall til it dies Leech Seed second phase, switch into a Gengar. A gengar with taunt would probably be best. Third phase, toxic and try to stay alive as long as possible. Couldn't have done it without Ariej's gengar, thanks <3

9. Moved from the 'pumpking' thread. After playing through the event, I figure I'll leave my impressions and opinions(However meaningless they may be) here in this thread. I'll start off with things I feel this event did right, because I'm an optimistic guy: First off I love the art. All of the cosmetic items look great, and Darkshades talent really shows with these new additions. Rachel's art for the event was also really pretty, and it just goes to show that the PokeMMO staff is full of great artists. I like the way the items are obtained. The event itself brought the community together and gave us all a collective goal to work towards. I really felt this is the kind of content the game needs. I also like the idea of pseudo-boss fights that you had to do to get the candy, and then having an RNG element for rewards. This part of the event was really fun. I love the decoration for the event, with jack-o-lanturns placed around the world. Lastly, I know there's some discussion of about the Halloween client theme where some will say it's worst than the original, and others say it's nice. Personally, I think the design is great. I'm not a fan of bright color schemes, and although it does look alright I think a darker one would be more fitting. Hell I might even edit the current ones color scheme and make it dark if I can, because the design itself is pretty nice. Pros of the boss fight: The overall design of the event leading up to the fight was great. I liked that items you got from the first part of the event gave you an advantage during the boss battle. This part was really well thought out. It encourages community collaboration by means of sharing strategies and Pokemon. The art is beautiful The boss itself is something new and fresh, and it's genuinely challenging There are other positive things that I didn't mention, simply because I didn't notice them or I'm too tired right now to remember them, and before I get to the next part I'd like to say that I did enjoy this event and it was a really good event. It managed to bring me, and a few others, back from the dead and after taking part in the event I'm genuinely considering coming back to playing this game. That being said, on to the negatives: How short the event is. I get that it needs to be short because limited edition tradeable items are being given away, but in my opinion the event should have been out for longer than it was. The changelog was posted 29 October 2015 - 06:43 PM (At least that's what's being shown for my time zone) and the event if I recall ends tomorrow. That's not really enough time(Especially considering I now have to beat a rather tedious boss before I can trade in candies) to have a chance to get all the items I wanted without spending millions of yen that I simply do not have, nor am I willing to earn(Simply because I don't enjoy making money, nor having money in this game. Maybe that's a flaw with me and not the game, but that's how I feel regardless.) The difficulty of the boss fight. Don't get me wrong, I love a challenge, but in my opinion holiday events should be accessible by all different 'tiers' of players and not just those who have plenty of level 100s lying around. Maybe the design was aiming for something that I'm not used to seeing in events. The only other MMO I play is Oldschool Runescape, and generally their events are fair to all levels of players, but maybe this PokeMMO boss fight was designed to reward experienced players. I can't really fault this either way, but I feel it's kind of unfair to punish new players by making them unable to complete the event(Which also limits them from trading in their candies for 24(?) hours until the boss leaves(?)). Edit3: Marked this out because a couple guys with level 50s managed it, so maybe I'm just shit. The mechanics of the boss fight: My first thoughts were "What, this isn't enjoyable. Is this designed just to be impossible to defeat?". I genuinely thought, after the first fight, that you were supposed to lose to continue the event. In my opinion it just wasn't enjoyable to me. That's not to say it was bad design, this boss fight just didn't put that "Holy shit I want to keep going!" feeling in my head that the earlier parts of the event did. Edit4: Honestly the mechanics of the fight are pretty cool. I can't fault it for being challenging, especially when the game needs a little more challenge to it. The spooky candy collection meter really hyped me, and I was excited to see what was going to happen. I didn't realize that the boss battle was just going to be a minor reward though, so it did kind of feel like a letdown. Having the most difficult opponent in game give a 'Minor Reward' feels kinda shitty. In my opinion(and I get why this didn't happen) the Jack-O-Lanturn mask should have been that reward. I bought mine from another player, so I got it anyways(And arguably it's worth more this way, so I profit more by not having it as a drop from the boss) but I still feel like the Jack Mask is the most visually impressive item in the event(And in the game for that matter), and the Pumpkin Bag, while still being beautiful, was just ahead of Vampire Fangs for least impressive visuals. The boss fight actually hinders your ability to participate in the event by not letting you trade in candies anymore(until you complete it?) EDIT: I'm gonna go ahead and mark out the sections about the boss fight. It occurred to me after reading some other users comments that maybe I just didn't give myself enough tries to beat the boss, so I'm gonna go back and give it another shot before I make any negative comments based on that. Edit2: After giving it a few more shots, and nearly beating it, I still don't find it enjoyable. The design itself is alright though, I just don't feel like going through the effort for an item that I will likely never wear.(The item looks great, but I have another item that I wear in my back slot.) Again, don't get me wrong, I did really enjoy this event. There were some things I didn't like, but that may not be because they were poorly designed, maybe my preference in games is just different than the crowd this MMO is designed for. Regardless I did think the art(Both Rachel's and Darkshade's) was great, I got some cool items out of the event, and I really did enjoy this Halloween event. This was overall a really enjoyable experience. I think my main problem was that I expected this event to be easy, due to all previous holiday events in MMOs I've played being that way, and it simply wasn't.

moving post to the Hween Event General thread, m'bad
11. the artwork for this event was great, but it's a shame that the image got shrunk. There's a lot of really pretty details(The details in her hair for example) that aren't really noticeable in the smaller version. tfw I had something positive to say for once. today has been a good day
12. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/randombattle-286265735 I came back from the dead again to share this randoms is great
13. Yeah I probably should have mentioned that. Given that it's a community event, the bot would be streamed for evidence, and it'd actually make the game significantly harder (Compared to users sharing an account so that they can achieve 24/7 no exp waste) I think an exception could be made if the streamer just asked nicely. Would love to get a staff members opinion on this thread though, I'm curious if it'd be allowed. I think we could use more community twitch events. Note: If you're fed up with Runescape comparisons being made, ignore this spoiler
Oldschool Runescape I know hosts various community events on stream such as Boss Masses(Where a large number of people group up and kill a boss on stream. Usually hundreds of people show up). For PokeMMO since we don't have bosses, it'd be nice if we hosted a twitch pokemon hunting contest or something. Usually these things are run by the Jmods though rather than the community. I wonder if any of our current staff would be up to stream events..
14. Yeah seems like it is, but I'm not really qualified to say Edit: This is from the Code of Conduct Technically since a program is controlling the input to the game I think this would be against the rules. The second quote isn't really relevant, but figured I'd post due to it relating to third party software. from the Terms of Service I do kind of agree that the hype has died down. Getting a twitch crowd would be a great way to bring new players to the game though.
15. Pretty sure this would fall under the rule against bots and also the rule against account sharing, I'll check the rules to see.
16. Then that's an issue with the gameplay and making money, and you can contribute to fixing the issue by making suggestions and discussion, but "Make everything free" is not a solution. A lot of the value of things in an MMO comes from the work you need to invest into getting it. If you start handing out free things left and right then it becomes less about working hard for what you own, and then things get devalued. This is especially the case with the suggestion you made of just giving a free 300k to players every month. What this does is it encourages players to log on once a month, then just be lazy until their next 'welfare check', as I would call it, comes in. A better idea in my opinion would be a daily challenges system, where you log in daily and complete random/pre-set challenges and earn a reward that scales with the difficulty of the challenge. This encourages actual gameplay by making you do some sort of activity, and also encourages players to log in on a daily basis. As for minigames, yeah that's a cool idea. Note that I'm not trying to say there isn't an issue with our game currently, I'm just saying that OPs suggestion does nothing to fix the problems you just mentioned, and as I've mentioned it doesn't bring much content to the game that we don't already have. If you'd like to have a private place to go to, I agree with Xela's points here: Anyways I'm getting off topic, and since there's nothing more I have to say regarding OPs suggestion I'm going to go back to playing OSRS. It's been a pleasure coming back from the dead and talking to you guys.
17. I don't mean to sound like I'm attacking the idea, but if that's the case it should have been worded that way from the start. (Edit: Suggesting that they make a seperate Secret Base-ish piece of content rather than just making current ones more useful and fun to use is the main issue I see with the original suggestion) Our Secret Base system is really lacking though, and honestly needs more added to it. As to whether your original idea is what it needs, I won't say, but I think Secret Bases need more functional and fun things first. I remember I had an idea a while back about how neat it'd be to play Chess with a friend inside of a secret base, stuff like that could contribute to reviving Secret Bases. It's nice to see someone recognizing this issue and trying to contribute though. Edit2: Also the "Free items for your base" suggestion is flawed. Players should always have to work for the things they own, even if the effort is minimal. It encourages people to play the game.
18. First off, "Every item is free" is a bad idea for various reasons. As pointed out, free stuff in a secret base means no money sink. It also means you don't need to work for the things you want, which also has negative side effects. The first one to come to mind would be status; A player can show off their wealth by how many cool hidden base items they have. If you make those items free, then that guy can't do that anymore. This idea as a whole, while not bad, doesn't really bring anything useful to the table. Last I checked Hidden Bases are already dead content, and this is just a private version of that correct? This content would also end up dead except for special occasions like, as you mentioned, team screenshots and meetings. Honestly the time could be better spent improving upon our already existing hidden base content, and adding some useful stuff to that. That being said a "Private" option on your base(Similar to changing Private chat to 'Off' in Runescape stops people from entering your secret base) would be kind of nice, if we actually had some reason to go into our bases. It would also be cool to see a Runescape-ish Clan Citadel type thing for our Teams. In my opinion that would be far more active and useful(Provided some content is added there) than our current Secret Base content. If I remember correctly Grand Fantasia has something similar for it's guilds.

20. Nice man, I like the way you think. Looking forward to hearing OPs reasoning for his IV choice. What you did there has been witnessed.
21. Tis is a lovely thread. What was your reasoning for your IV choice? Mine was because the Hasty nature represents my personality and desire to be the best at everything I do, but having 0 natural talent, which the 0 IV represents. (PS. I swear I can make a quality thread out of this.)
22. tfw I want to say something but I promised I'd clean up my act and start being nice to people. 0 Speed Hasty nature
