  1. It can still work because you know, you can have multiple channels selected. I'm usually on "channel" and "whisper", sometimes "global" and "trade", but it'd definitely be possible to be on "channel", "friends" and "whisper". Friends chat would then be in the higlighted color such as red. This is where I don't agree. Because, the highlighting system provides all kinds of cool things. What if you want to highlight someone who isn't in your friends? What if you want to highlight only one person from your friends' list such as your brother or girlfriend, and not everyone else? I think the highlighting system is a great idea. But of course, the friends and party chat is an awesome idea because it allows to send messages to a customizeable group. So you don't have to talk to everyone on the channel, and you don't have to send the same message to 4 different people. So in fact. We need both. Highlighting and friends chat. EDIT: That's fine TastyPig. It's not exactly the same. Happens to me all the time also-
  2. Well, if you want it to be exactly like the original, might as well play the original. Just making it an MMO modifies it to the point that it's nothing like the original anymore. Also, FireRed was a remake of Red/Blue, yet they still revamped graphics, added pokemon, and added anything that they deemed useful. HeartGold is also completely different from the Gold/Silver versions. I mean, pokemon follow you? What ridiculousness! I mean, if a game's gonna get remade, many things will change in favor of what is useful and convenient, not to stay close to the original. Changes have always happened and never really hurt in the previous remakes.
  3. The orginal post is perfect. completely unexploitable, and it gives the player the choice to save time by paying extra. Since he pays for extra steps but he doesn't get extra balls, he's really only buying time. Which I think is quite cool. Also, the point of having a fixed number of steps imo was to try to find the golden tooth and the surf house within that step limit. If the condition that you obtained them both is fulfilled, then there's nothing wrong with the idea. I mean, any drawback I can think of has been thought of beforehand and dealt with by the original poster. Good thinking. +1.

    New Game+

Yeaah, this is what made me think that you care. But it matters not much. I mean, the main point is to be able to steamroll and farm TMs and such. I like the idea. Only, by the time this gets implemented, the glitches will be dealt with, so might as well implement this condition for after the E4, and not at any point of the game. But I overall support you.

    New Game+

I don't know. I like the idea of New Game +. Chrono Trigger was awesome shit. Still is. But I don't exactly agree with the purpose it's intended to have by the original poster. I mean, you're basically suggesting it as a bug fix for people who get stuck in the game. I mean, considering the devs like it, by the time they decide to start working on this and set it up and stuff, I think all of the major bugs will already be handled with. This will be in a later stage of development. I mean, the game freezes will be handled before even this idea gets considered, I think. Considering that, the New Game + won't be useful anymore for un-crashing players. I'd simply be an extra feature. In this case, I think it would be good to have it after completing the E4, and you could farm whatever you feel like. Starters, Eevees, since you could get them anyway from breeding. And probably TMs and Masterballs, since you could get them from alternate characters anyway. It's basically a toom to steamroll through the game, which isn't exactly that much cheating as you've completed it already once. I mean, it didn't bother the creators of Chrono Trigger or Golden Sun that you could steamroll their game.
  6. Air Gear looked less confusing. And I liked the anime. I should read the manga.
  7. Quite certainly. But I can't think of a scenario where you'd want to add HP but remove defense, haha. But yes, a natures table can prove useful.
  8. I agree. You should be able to release from anywhere other than the PC, too, even if the pokemon wasn't freshly caught.
  9. Yes! :D How did I not think of this? Also, to complement this, right-clicking the pokemon once more should close the window. Since as of now, I believe you have to close the window by clicking on the "x" which is uncool.
  10. I forgot half the point. I'd like the pokedex to be the hugest database. It should contain the fullest descriptions of all moves, pokemon, stats, anything possible. Even if you're lazy to implement such huge data. Put up a link to a page you trust has the right info. Like, in every pokemon tab, add a bulbapedia link relative to that pokemon. You could do the same with a list of moves or TMs or whatever is awesome.
  11. Warning: It is lengthy, but half of it is real easy. Don't worry. The concept of my idea is to improve the pokedex so that you use it more than you use google. Basically, all I'm asking for is more tabs and text on it. The pokedex is often defined as a "technological wonder" and it makes people think of the iPhone from 17 years ago. Might as well make it look like it can do more. The pros for this are so it gives enough information so the user doesn't need to google or ask global chat for most of what he wants. The cons? None, other than some time consumption. Here's a list of ideas, but you can find whatever you want. If you're a dev or something, read at least the first and second list. Sorta Implementable things, that are just text pretty much: -Add the evolution method. (Level 30, thunderstone) etc. -Add the types of pokemon. Sometimes people tend to forget dual types. For now, it doesn't even have to be the type icon, just a character string that says "grass/poison" is enough. It's probably planned but it is missing nevertheless. -Add the potential abilities a pokemon can have. So you know that when you cuahgt a pokemon, it has another passive that you didn't know about that you may prefer. -Add a clock on it. That's the main reason any human takes out their iPhone. Could be both in-game and real-life time, but whatever you want. A clock is symbolic. It needs one. -Add a new tab with an index of all user commands. Because all I know is /w, /unstuck and /time and I'm certain there are many more. You probably have a text file of them, just copy/paste it onto a tab in there. Maybe implementable, don't know: -A "currently owned" color for pokemon. Like a darkish red. So there is a difference between "caught" and "caught but don't have it anymore". This way it looks way cooler when you actually own 386 pokemon in your boxes, which is my goal. If you wanna go crazy: -A search feature just like in the newer games. So you can search for a aprticular type or order by alphabetical or whatever. -Add a "seen" pokemon's location on the map (Not urgent as it's difficult but it needs done eventually.) -A new tab with a TM dex type thing. So that you know what TMs you had but used and forgot and stuff. It would have the same interface as the pokedex tab, except it'd have TMs. There's plenty that can be done with this. -A more advanced progress bar. I heard achievements were planned, they could fit in a tab in here. You know, with the completion of the pokedex or TM dex. People wouldn't have to compare "seen 42, caught 21, owned 15" all the time, they could just state "10% complete". It could give some sort of easy ranking. Suggest some more things if you like and tell me what you think. Once again, the main motivation for this is that the pokedex is underrated, when it shuold be the essence of the storyline and goal of the game. But people are just focused on EVs and battles. Remind them to fill out this thing and to whip it out as often as they whip out their iPhone! :)
  12. Exactly my thoughts.
  13. I disagree. Just work on finding at least one friend or get a real-life friend to join you. That's the whole point of the pokemon needing to be traded in the first place.
