hey friend i follow you now :P

  2. Yeah, pretty much. Sucker Punch sweeps, Dragon Dance sweeps, Stealth Rocks to negate Focus Sash, and the only reliable way to beat an offensive team was with another offensive team. Dragon Dance or Swords Dance+Sucker Punch with Stealth Rocks made for a very easy sweep. Prankster and Magic Bounce are very important abilities for defensive or balanced teams. Gen 4 relied heavily on certain bulky Fighting-type Pokemon to prevent these kinds of sweeps. Seeing as how we don't have most of these Pokemon, it seems to me that the best way to handle the unbalanced would be to either nerf certain tactics in some way, or buff others. How this should be accomplished, I couldn't say.
  3. As far as I'm concerned, Focus Sashes, Stealth Rocks, and most other meta-defining features added after Gen 3 are completely unbalanced until Prankster is implemented. If we are going to have to Sashes, we will almost certainly need a myriad of other things to make competitive battling balanced.
  4. Personally, I think it'd be easier and useful to a wider range of players to just shorten the distance from the PokeCenter to the Safari entrance. Perhaps remove the trees that are more or less pointless so people don't have to walk all the way around. Still, I don't see either of these things happening as it's a minor inconvenience that really only hinders people for a few seconds each time.
  5. I think this is a good idea, actually. It seems simple and would finally allow us to trade those damn decorations. It's not like it'd be hard to make specific items untradable if needed.
  6. I don't remember any such instances in my own experience, but neither have I looked for them. I do, however, remember seeing a lot of Shell Bells in place of extra Leftovers. I think you are mistaken.
  7. What other value is there? Any training done for happiness is removed when traded so there is no monetary value. That leaves just usefulness. Nobody is going to complain that it's easier to obtain something only usable on the account it was acquired on. Happiness, as I'm sure you're quite aware, is only used for Return/Frustration and evolving a few certain Pokemon. There are maybe three dozen Pokemon that have any use for happiness. There's already very little value to this stat. Tl;dr Happiness is nearly useless.
  8. Why not before? It's a very easy to change. Literally just a single value. They changed it from the PTS when they implemented it on the live server. It'd be like changing the prices of a certain item in the Pokemart. We just have to convince the devs that it should be changed.
  9. Think about it from another standpoint, though. For a stat that is so nearly useless, why should it be so tedious to raise? It's not like EV training in the sense that it raises your Pokemon's capabilities in battle, is useful on all Pokemon, or that EV's are permanent (assuming you don't manually remove them with berries). However, happiness is a pain to grind, only affects a very few Pokemon, and is instantly and automatically reset if that Pokemon ever leaves your possession. For such a fickle, generally-unimportant stat, why does it take so much to raise it? (That's not even considering the breeding aspects of it)
  10. Well, not Salamence. Only Dragonite and Tyranitar evolve at 55. Apart from that, it's not a terrible system we have now. Still, I think many people would prefer to always get the basest form of a Pokemon so they could choose whether to evolve it or, for those that just like to collect shinies, take screenshots at each stage of evolution.
  11. I wasn't trying to argue or negate what you said. Simply adding to it. I meant it'd be nice if the staff would quickly EV the gift shinies because they are useless for anything other than battling.
  12. At least let them EV it. It's not like gift shinies are actually worth anything outside of using for more competitive battles.
  13. Probably because all the Pokemon in that tier are literally never used. I don't think I've ever seen an NU Pokemon on a serious OU team.
  14. Just stop with the item clause. Nobody except you wants it. It's a terribly annoying feature that prevents you from having two checks to the most annoying or dangerous Pokemon in the meta. If you hate everyone using Leftovers, maybe you should start using Knock Off, Thief, Covet, Trick, or one of the many other ways we have to nullify or outpace Leftovers. Just get over it.
  15. That's why it's not up to the players whether or not a feature is implemented. The staff have some weight to their opinions when the devs finally decide on a feature and if a feature is going to cause them too much grief, they will obviously be against it. It's just how people are.
  16. I think a significant boost to all BP rewards for the lower tiers would be enough. Maybe a 25/50% boost for UU/NU respectively (or 50/100%). This would not only encourage a larger playerbase for each tier, but also give players a reason to play the less popular tiers outside of "I like this tier more." Giving higher rewards (at least for a little while) isn't too unfair for the players that refuse to play lower tiers as they are still getting the same reward, but in smaller amounts. This would also allow for easy editing later if circumstances change. There wouldn't be an outrage about losing out on free Mystery Boxes or whatever. It would only be slight grumbling about reduced payouts.
  17. Sounds like Destiny Bond and Earthquake spam. Walls would be useless. It would be nothing but Aerodactyl with Earthquake and Rockslide.
  18. Kinda defeats the main use of having this, no? Apart from aesthetics, a Luxury Ball is really the only ball that matters.
  19. Let me just bring up and respond to a couple points that will undoubtedly try to pass for reasons. -ahem- 1.) "It can be exploited." A.) Sure, if we are able to keep the ball the Pokemon is in. Seems like a simple and fair solution to make the ball the Pokemon was in disappear. 2.) "It'd be too hard for the devs to code." A.) I suppose that you, a player, would know exactly what the devs are capable of and/or willing to do. Don't presume you know anything about what goes on behind the scenes unless you are in direct contact with someone on the developer team. 3.) "It's not canon." A.) Neither are half the features that make up this game. I mean, look at the Hidden Power changer. Seriously? There's no way that's canon. If this is really an argument that anyone considers for even a moment, they shouldn't be here. Those are the three arguments I see for nearly every suggestion. If anyone has other, more specific arguments, feel free to post them. I don't think we need to repeat these three again and again as always.
  20. Not at all. It's possible to see evolved Pokemon below their required level in the Trainer Tower. Both of which are pathetic excuses that shouldn't play any role in deciding.
  21. I never said that we should or should not have a feature simply because it's canon. I said that as a reason is flimsy and holds about as much water as bucket with no bottom. I don't really care whether or not this feature is implemented. I just don't think "it's canon so we need it exactly the same" is a worthy reason for anything anymore. Just take a look at our breeding, tutoring, battling, even the gambling. None of these are exactly how they were in the original handheld games. If there is an argument against this or any other feature, it should be more than "it needs to be canon".
  22. At this point in the game's development, adding/removing a feature because "it's canon" is, quite frankly, ridiculous. We have a myriad of features not in the original versions of these roms.
