  1. The only idea I've heard so far (short of a server wipe) would be for them to make Pokemon hatched/caught before the Hoenn update unbreedable and then make it so comps before the Hoenn update can't be used in tournament mode. Which also happens to be a horrible fucking idea too.
  2. Honestly I'm a bit worried about that now. Something struck me as odd about it all. Why would they care about people logging on more than usual? Apparently (according to DS) inflation was one of a few reasons they disabled breeding. I would hope they'd have warned us awhile ago if the things we prepared were not going to be usable in the future.
  3. I think that's one piss poor excuse to disable breeding. Do they claim it made the people who were already breeding manage to breed even more (not possible) or that it caused other people to begin breeding (unlikely given that not many people knew about the posts)?
  4. Okay well I hope that the Hoenn update is soon then, else it'll be quite a boring week without breeding.
  5. Hello, breeding is currently disabled in the Kanto region. Are the changes being made to it right now the same as in Hoenn or is it getting a stealth nerf that we're not supposed to know about?
  6. She went at it with Jay for 3 hours 15 minutes before logging out. Blonde, you may want to add a warning that if someone tries this in an official they will 99% be getting timeclaused and disqualified.
  7. I see a lot of criticism in here, better post before this thread gets locked. How are those rule changes going? We wouldn't know because the thread got locked by an overly defensive staff member. On the topic of the new signups, it wouldn't necessarily be a bad idea if it wasn't for all of the stupid gimmick tournaments you all host. You think someone is going to be willing to invest the time it takes to make a Little Cup team if they don't know for a fact that they have a spot on the bracket? Not to mention, since the gimmick tournaments seem to have the best prizes, every player with a few lv5 Pokemon would sign up and possibly crowd out a person who invested days of playtime to prepare. This is just one example of a seemingly endless stream of gimmick tournaments that probably seemed really fun and quirky (ecks fucking dee) in your heads but never seem to translate well into a functional tournament. Could this idea work for standard tournaments? I don't see why it would be detrimental to those. Would it be a good idea to apply this to all of the gimmick tournaments? No.
  8. It seems the "Cons" really just consist of intangible feelings and worry over the economy. I think it should take effort to get into competitive play, but not an inordinate amount of it simply to begin. If breeding was nerfed, they would pretty much be forced to nerf the already existing competitive Pokemon or else they'd create an enormous gap between the resources of the older players and the new. I believe the current breeding system is balanced enough to promote a healthy competitive scene without it being overly easy to get what you want (why doesn't this everstone fucking work?).
  9. Thought it was usually 30 and only 15 when the servers were overloaded.
  10. I agree. I, too, fear our members fornicating with barnyard animals as a result of this ongoing conflict.
  11. I didn't see Solrock on that list, I don't think there's a shiny one.
  12. Litte Boy: Senile Little Girl: Cheels Team name (optional): Pool Table Pros
  13. Yetto and I disagree with you, suppose we'll have to agree to disagree.
  14. I never even mentioned CBII. And my point was that there are Pokemon that those teams will not lend out to non-teammates, as members of those teams have already corroborated in this thread. No idea what you're getting at.
  15. I think you're quite mistaken on that. I can only speak about PoAu's breeders since I still keep in touch, there are things they don't lend out to non teammates that are exclusive to their team. I'm sure the same is true for LYLE, there are things that have been exclusive to each team in the past few months. It took other players outside those teams a month or more to catch up. Example: HP Flying/Superpower/Extremespeed choice banded Dragonite after the update. Took everyone else 3 weeks to catch up and in the mean time, PoAu had a monopoly on them.
  16. It wasn't meant to mean deceived, I just mean they want to go try it out.
  17. I think that activity is central to the team issue. The reason many people gravitate towards PoAu is, along with the fact that they're actually competitive, because before the update they were the last active team on the server and still have a reputation for being an active team in general even in the roughest of times. People want to go where they're actually going to have the chance to speak to someone in teamchat, it's not enough to have competitive players who never log on (BAIL would be an example of this). As a result of this trend, the competitive teams have an exponential influx of competitive players. This means they have the pick of the litter in regards to competitive players and tend to have higher quality because of this. This translates into there being only 4 real competitive teams on the server, Aw/PoAu/LYLE/CiX. Though I should add that PoAu/LYLE are the only teams on that list that have any diversity in who they field for team tournaments. The overall effect is that of a snowball rolling down a mountain, it's hard to stop without seriously competitive AND active players leaving their respective teams to start new ones (and subsequently luring others away from those teams in the process.) The most recent, albeit tenuous, example of this happening recently is Orangemaniac's new team. All in all, I don't know what will fix this issue. Our best hope is maybe Hoenn will shake things up a bit and hopefully give rise to a new generation (pun unintended) of competitive players. But given the problem that I highlighted below this, it's unlikely. Edit: Also those big competitive teams offer extremely nice benefits in regards to sharing comps for tournaments and also sharing breeders within the team. It's like working for a big corporation with amazing benefits and a workplace full of productive people versus working for a small business with no benefits and only a couple of people in the building.
  18. So who's going to be the first prick to use a SG modest Blissey?
