Pumpkin King, second stage

Phase 2 is absurd. There is no mechanics, the pumpkin king puts your entire team to sleep.
Lum Berry is useless at this stage. And to make matters worse appears the pumpthief.

I know that, the problem is that in stage 2 the whole team sleeps, I use ghost cookie to wake up my team, and the next turn I went back to sleep at 2 pokes, which leads to a spiritual disappearance.

It's random. I have had a run (spectated by someone even) where in one turn none of them fell asleep, the next all of them fell asleep. RNG sucks, but what can you do about that?
