ALPHA CATCH METHOD

Recommended Posts

Hello guys! This is my First post, and i wanna share the strategy i've been using tô catch Alpha since today.

I Saw the method First time on YouTube. So watch the video and like, they deserve credits for the video.

Of course i don't copy the entire method, but i like It.

Ironically to catch Alpha we need an Alpha (or Hidden Ability).

You Will need:

Pokeball

TimerBall

1 - Spinda w/ Hidden Ability - 31 Speed IV - 252 Speed EV - Move Skill Swap

1 - Aron w/ Sturdy - Lvl 1 (low level Fit) - Move Endeavor

1 - Wall Pokémon w/ Recovery, Roost, Rest (Milotic, Skarmory, Reuninclus, etc)

1 - Pokémon to status the Alpha (i like Thunder Wave, but you can use Spore, Sleep Powder etc.

1 - Pokémon w/ Soak (Your Smeargle Farm can be useful here)

The Method.

First turn - Spinda Skill Swap and Sacrifice Spinda

Puts Aron

Second Turn - Aron Will survive One hit cause Sturdy, move Endeavor to get 1 HP on Alpha

Third Turn - Sac Aron

Turn Four - Status the Alpha

Turn Five - Put the Wall on the game

Turn 6 - 26 - Pokeball

Turn 27 foward - TimerBall

So, lets discuss this.

A Lot of People have find this method, i guess this is why Spinda Price is over 200k on GTL.

The Alpha's are mini Bosses with natural Buff in random rounds, and that cause so many problems.

Spinda Hidde Ability is Contrary - That makes any status buff going in Contrary. If the Buff Will increase Atk Status, now It Will decrease. Can you see the light now ?

Spinda Speed at lvl 100 - 31 Speed IV - 252 Speed EV is 219, so Spinda outspeed any Alpha lvl 70-.

The reason you don't throw a Quick Ball when the Battle Start is: Even with 5x Catch rate the chances of sucess catch are low, and every time you start the Battle throwing an MonsterBall the Alpha Buff itself in sequence.

Alpha can 1HKO Spinda after Buff, or can outspeed Spinda in Second Turn If he survive the First Turn (Crobat example).

As i Said, i prefer Thunder Wave (1.5x catch bônus) then Spore (2.0x catch bônus), cuz i only use once in the most situations.

It turns out that some pokemons are immune to Thunder Wave, so it's always good to take a pokemon with Soak, transforming Alpha's type into Water and leaving him an easy target for Thunder Wave.

Use pokeball cuz its cheap, 20k- 99 pokeballs.

Use TimerBall after Turn 26 to max catch rate potential.

forgive me for the grammar mistakes, with time I will correct them.

Thank You Guys.

Can you please shutdown your post? Nothing against you, but if any mod see it, the strat will get nerfed like the Aron Endeavor gets.
Also, very efficient strat, i use it and liked a lot.

I believe they already know this, besides the idea is to discuss ways to capture an alpha and find the best way for a guide. Are you going to ask them to remove the video from Youtube too?

This looks like a finished guide, or do you still want to add something else?

Not quite, and just like @caioxlive13 said above, endeavor has been nerfed and no longer works on the Alpha, so it's no longer the quickest method to drop the Alpha's health. Discussing the topic and evolving the guide I believe is more important.
