Popular Post DragoTamer Posted February 2, 2023 Popular Post Posted February 2, 2023 (edited) Pokémon: Parasect Ability: Damp Nature: Adamant IVs: Ideally 5x31. For more practical cost-saving purposes, 2x31 with Attack and Speed and as high as you can in the other IVs. EVs: 12 HP/252 Attack/244 Speed Item: Leftovers Moves: False Swipe, Spore, Thief, Dig Egg Moves: Leech seed, Flail, Wide Guard, pursuit **Optional, but I recommend them for versatility** **If you pass egg moves to the final breed, they are re-learnable. This means you will have expanded the maximum moveset of your final breed** HM Moves: Cut, Flash, Rock Smash Ability explanation Spoiler Damp prevents explosion and selfdestruct. Having said this, Parasect with damp is a catcher pokemon designed to catch pokemon that could use selfdestruct/explosion An exception is when you are facing a koffing/weezing with the reactive gas ability which neutralizes all other abilities on the field IVs explanation Spoiler Ultimately the variation is up to you, but I highly encourage at least 2x31 in attack and speed. EVs explanation Spoiler Parasect is a rather slow pokemon catcher. At 84 speed EVs, it can outspeed all wild pokemon that can use explosion At 140 speed EVs, it can outspeed all wild pokemon that can use selfdestruct At 160 speed EVs, it can outspeed hordes. At 244 speed EVs, it should be paired with spinda for alpha catching. It is highly recommend you lead with spinda, skill swap, and then toss one poke ball to reduce the opponent’s speed by one stage. Only then will you always have a guaranteed chance to outspeed all the alphas currently released and in the foreseeable future. I recommend going with the 244 speed EVs build because if you choose to use it with spinda for alpha catching as a replacement for breloom and/or smeargle, it is best to be prepared If you intend to lower the speed EVs at all, put any excess into HP Moves explanation Spoiler False Swipe and spore are self explanatory Thief is useful if you’re following Clara’s guide for ditto catching. I will link it below Dig can get you out of caves particularly when you’re trying to shunt for pokemon in caves. If you don’t care for dig, you can go with an optional fourth move that best suits your needs. I picked the above 4 egg moves because they offer move types that Parasect otherwise doesn’t have and are just nice overall Other notes Spoiler Don’t use this when shunting koffing because Koffing can have the reactive gas ability. Refer to my smeargle guide for a koffing build to use I linked Bestfriends's egg move index in related guides so you can utilize that to put egg moves on your parasect if you so choose. I outlined what I believe to be the 4 best egg moves at the top of this guide I linked Clara's ditto catching guide to illustrate how you can modify your Parasect to fit dittos if you so choose I linked my smeargle guide to guide you to the shiny koffing hunting moveset since Parasect's damp may not work As demonstrated above, Parasect can be used as a normal catcher pokemon rather than breloom and/or smeargle depending on your intents of usage. If your only goal is to shunt pokemon that require Parasect and catch standard swarm/horde pokemon, you could utilize Parasect so you will have 1 pokemon for a dual purpose. if you intend to use parasect for alphas, you must ensure you have spinda and have used skill swap with contrary and have tossed one poke ball to lower the opponent's speed by one stage. Again, please know that Parasect has its specific uses and if you don't fall under these, please check out the optimal breloom and the smeargle guide to find your best fit Guides that are related to enhance Parasect usage Spoiler Other Optimal PvE Pokemon Guides Spoiler Credits Spoiler @RenDudefor going over dig as a fourth move with me Edited January 12, 2024 by DragoTamer JohannHeinrich, Sindago, Servor5555 and 38 others 27 2 9 3

There is a section for breeding guides
