[Denied] 2 Breeding Options [incl. old method with few changes]

Recommended Posts

I can safely say the second option would never be implemented. It has no use whatsoever but to confuse the new players, as mentioned above.

The reason behind it would be to have a good pokemon for PVE only if you don't care about tourneys/comp.

use the 2nd option to get lots of breeders, then use option 1 to breed them again so that he can use trade / use them in battle.

If you mean to use the original parent pokemon on option 1 after already using them for option 2 multiple times, that should be acceptable because the option 2 children would follow option 2 rules and be as if they didn't exist to the rest of the playerbase.

Otherwise, if something was born through option 2, its children (and its children's children, and its children's children's children, etc.) would not be tradable or usable in tourneys/comps, regardless of breeding option choice.

The old breeding system is not coming back in any way, shape, or form, nor do we have any intention of splitting the breeding system into two. No workaround to enable cloning is going to be implemented either. No matter how many restrictions are placed on the offspring, cloning will always have an impact on the economy.

Being untradeable and unusable in competitive play doesn't mean that the offspring won't have an impact on the economy-  it can and will affect the desire for and value of tradeable versions of its species. The ability to mass produce a rare Pokemon, even if only for yourself, means that you will not be purchasing them from another player if you're unwilling to search for them. Eevee is a prime example of this as it is extremely rare in the wild yet many players require five of them to obtain all of its evolutions. Being able to catch only one then quickly and easily breed four more with a Ditto takes away from their value in the market - supply remains high but demand drops significantly, and thus price drops with it. If the player does not plan to play competitively or sell them, the inability to use their Eeveelutions in PvP or trade them away will not affect them, and so there is no reason to buy Eevees when they can just clone the one they have.

With that being said, I can safely say that this won't be happening.
