I get an error message saying, "Channel messages can only be sent every 7 seconds. Please wait 22 seconds." I think the cooldowns should be dissociated one from another if possible. Link to comment

You're way overthinking it, the large majority of people wouldn't abuse it. You could just use /block for the 0.01% if they really grind your gears that bad. The pros outweigh the cons. As to the main topic, I don't see a big problem with how the cool down is set. I've noticed this problem myself and it didn't exactly hinder me playing the game. If the developers made it like that purposely there must have been a reason. Link to comment
