  1. From what I understand it changes areas after a certain amount of time.

You know how in Hoenn Safari Zone there are areas that only spawns specific pokemon? I guess it's kinda like that but it changes.

The only tip I can give you is if you see a Carnivine then Skorupi isn't in that area and vice versa. At least from my experience it was like that. So if you see a Carnivine switch to another area and look.

    Good luck.

We had 3 choices when dealing with Baton Pass:

    1. "Let it rot, banned in PvP and working as an 'I Win' button in PvE"
    2. "Delete it from the game because it's too bullshit"
    3. "Remove the problematic mechanic of it."

We chose #3 obviously. So how do you go about that?

Do you trade additional complexity for LC/Doubles viability, or do you reintroduce dry passing / sub passing everywhere else and remove the problematic mechanic? What makes the game in its totality better?

As far as I'm aware, stat passing via baton pass was only significantly viable in LC anyway, as it was a niche strat in Doubles. So is LC worth taking away these strategies from OU/UU/NU?

I don't think it's a very hard question; We're not going to split mechanics based on tiers, so you have to give and take somewhere.

What I'm worried about is will this set a precedent to other moves you guys find to be broken in PvE. I'm going to be honest with you, the AI isn't really that smart. Sure it likes to switch in Pokemons that deal super effective moves on you but you can use it to your advantage to cheese E4 (which apparently is the main reason you guys nerfed Baton Pass). Basically I can set up Stealth Rocks and maybe a layer or two of Spikes and I can just just Whirlwind/Roar my way to victory effectively cheesing the E4. Combine that with Recover, Roost, Softboiled, Wish and maybe even Rest and I hardly use any potions. And don't get me started on Substitute shenanigans when the AI just completely loses it.

Will you guys nerf these moves also because it can also completely trivialize PvE. Or does the move have to be completely broken in both PvE and PvP before you guys nerf it?

you get pretty much nothing for the effort.

This here, this is what irks me the most. Out of the 20 or so odd years reading bullshit on the internet this fucking phrase is what makes my blood boil.

I put in the effort to catch all the Pokemons to complete my pokedex and you want to know what I got out of it, you shit-for-brains? Enjoyment. I fucking enjoyed going around the game catching pokemons. I fucking enjoyed leveling them and watching them evolve. I fucking enjoy looking at my pokedex and seeing that green bar filled. So when you fucking say that my enjoyment is 'pretty much nothing'? Fuck. You.

Don't you hate it when you do something you enjoy and some random fucker said there's no point in doing it, wouldn't that piss you off? So just stop saying their effort means nothing because it's not nothing.

just PVE since you could mow down the e4 with ease using it and farm a lot of money.

But you could theoretically use an all legendary/uber team to also mow down E4. Look at Giratina and its great defensive typing with amazing stats. It's going to be hard for the E4 to get rid of it with its pooped AI. Then there's Jirachi and Cresselia; just having a Pokemon that can force the AI to switch is a HUGE advantage.

I don't want any ubers in the game because I just know they'll make E4 a fuck ton harder. I don't give a shit for PvP though since it has its own tier and I can just play the lower ones so I don't have to deal with it unlike in PvE where it will ruin the balance of the game.

It could already do those things, vanilla mechanic.  Nothing custom was added to it, the only thing that happened was one piece of it was removed.

So are you guys going to remove pieces out of other moves?

Overheat, Draco Meteor, Leaf Storm, Super Power, Close Combat, Shell Smash, Hammer Arm, all these moves lower your stats. Please remove the stat reduction.

Stop trying to downplay it, passing stats was what Baton Pass was made for and you guys butchered it. No one used Baton Pass just to pass Ingrain or Substitute.

Just admit that you guys don't know how to balance it and I'll accept the changes.

  6. Look at it this way.

I have a shiny Squirtle and a shiny Ditto. If I breed them together I now have another shiny Squirtle on top of my original two shinies. What's stopping me from mass producing shiny pokemons and essentially crash the shiny market?

Another example, I have a 6x31 Ditto. I breed it with something else and now I have a 1x31 Pokemon. Breed it again and it's now 2x31. Repeat it till I have 6x31 Pokemons.

This essentially makes breeding piss easy. And at this point devs should just make every single random encounter a 6x31 Pokemon to remove breeding.

Do you now see why they made the change to remove the two parent Pokemons?

  7. Basically you can switch your teams without going through your box to find a specific Pokemon.

    Spoiler

Here's an example. Right now I'm using my E4 team and if I want to use my gym team I just drag the Pokemons that's marked Gym into my party. The placeholder is still there so I don't have to fumble each time I want to switch team members.

  8. 1. Make Pokeballs hotkey-able. Being able to just use them using the hotkey is much easier than clicking bag, going to the Pokeball list then scrolling down to find what pokeballs you want to use. It's especially annoying since Repeat Balls are way at the bottom.

    2. Add more hotkey bars. If you add the Pokeball hotkey suggestion then we'll need more hotkey bars. But even if you don't add it having more bars improves QoL. Being able to put a lot of recovery items there would save a lot of time.
