  1. Investing time and money in a task without making progress is an interesting gaming concept! Can't wait to run for hours in the grass in the hope of capturing new legendaries!
  2. That's not the point of this discussion, let me summarize the idea: Having to rely entirely on chance to get anything other than cosmetics is downright unfair to unlucky players. Why? As it has already been said many times, we are not talking about a color variation or a stupid hat but about legendary Pokémon that give you an advantage over your opponent in PvP. And just because you got lucky with your legendaries it doesn't mean other players aren't trying hard enough or are doing things incorrectly. It is necessary to provide feedback on game designs to allow improvements. Claiming that this mechanic is great seems strange to me.
  3. I think the developers did a good job with the difficulty level of the bosses. The average player does not have the funds or sufficient knowledge to beat these bosses easily. The main gains come from selling lures on the GTL but as the current mechanism for obtaining roaming legendaries will be adjusted (source: trust me bro) and no one will ever need lures again their price will return to 30,000 $. Problem solved. It was easy.
  4. This is already happening with beasts and I suggest you take a look at Shaymin's prices to get an idea. I'd be curious to hear your resentment after 40 hours of hunting with no progress and knowing that the rest of the legendary trios will definitely have to be obtained the same way. Good luck completing your Pokédex.
  5. To date and since the recent release of Legendary Birds, it seems that this mechanic is not about to change. Such a waste. Anyone who is not interested in shiny hunting experiences this feeling. It makes sense that legendaries are difficult to obtain, but letting RNGesus decides is simply incomprehensible. There should at least be a pity system for the first encounter which would allow the player to complete the Pokédex and thus reduce this feeling of injustice. Hours wasted running from right to left without progressing a single step are in my opinion the worst gaming experience that can be offered to us.
  6. As you can see in this thread, the mechanism for obtaining an OT roaming legendary does indeed pose a problem when luck is not on one's side. I stopped counting after 10,000 encounters using expert and legendary lures for Entei since last cycle. I hope the developers will adjust this mechanic because with the likely addition of new legendary trios the road to obtaining an OT looks anything but interesting and fun.
  7. When you spend time with the goal of collecting PvP vanities, you can estimate how long it will take and you will earn money along the way. Nothing compares to going back and forth doing single encounters without any certainty of accomplishing anything in the process. The discussion is not PvP players vs shiny hunters. But rather how to make legendary hunting more exciting. My response to your comment was sarcastic to emphasize how off-topic this thought seemed. I don't understand why it bothers you so much that players don't like spending hours doing a repetitive, boring task when there could be more creative ways to complete these legendary quests. Improving the game when a mechanic does not seem optimal seems to me to be beneficial for everyone.
  8. I understand your point of view, however we need to take a broader view. Most players won't pay over $100,000 for a legendary lure and let's be real, how many players like to move around the map without using repels? I agree and think something could be done to make the legendaries quest feel more like a legendary quest and less like a single encounter shiny hunt.
  9. I breed my teams from scratch as part of my endgame goals, so the OT here has the symbolic value that a shiny hunter assigns to a color variation. But that is not the question here and I think you have missed the point. No one says hunting is hard and we can't buy things on the GTL. We emphasize that the legendary hunting activity does not provide any excitement and could be improved in some way.
  10. I would be curious to see the reaction of shiny hunters if the game asked them to play PvP matches for hours on end with no time limit.
  11. I'm sure a large portion of players are very grateful for the introduction of legendaries and getting them with less than a 0.1% chance is still better than 0%. However, there must be ways to spice up the process. We could come up with some ideas that developers could look at to make the system less daunting?
  12. Some forum users will mock or ignore any idea that seems strange to them or that they disagree with, no matter how well they understand the issue. That's why you should instead make a suggestion in this section of the forum. I think the developers are open to new ideas because improving the game is in everyone's interest. Good luck.
  13. Completing the OT dex is one of the goals of the game but the way to obtain roaming legendaries based solely on chance (one chance in 1001 to 7999) is daunting. I think a maximum number of encounters that would guarantee encounter while making for-profit hunting unviable would make more sense.
  14. That’s the idea indeed. As a dead tier player, I can confirm this.
  15. More than the IVs it would be nice to be able to choose the species or to obtain a species at random instead of collecting the tenth version of the same Pokémon.
  16. I will also add another box where we can write information about the player, similar to the "reason" box on the blocked players list. This information could also be displayed when hovering over the player's name. It seems to me that a similar suggestion was made by a player wanting to organize their list of regular customers for certain types of items.
  17. @RysPicz In your defense, the formula for calculating stats is not instinctive and the Pokémon summary does not display numbers after the decimal point.
  18. Objectively, the rate of significant updates has increased in recent years.
  19. Battle durations are ROM-based and therefore cannot be changed. I suggest you install strings to speed up dialogues. Regarding puzzles, some gyms have teleporters (Opelucid) and this option will undoubtedly be added over time (hopefully).
  20. A major update should arrive in the coming days with the 11th anniversary. The developer team is small, so patience is essential.
  21. Welcome David! You might want to take a look at this page as the game has a lot of hidden mechanics. From Generation III onward, a Pokémon's stats are calculated as follows: • HP = floor(0.01 x (2 x Base + IV + floor(0.25 x EV)) x Level) + Level + 10 • Other Stats = (floor(0.01 x (2 x Base + IV + floor(0.25 x EV)) x Level) + 5) x Nature As you can see, these formulas are not practical to use. At level 50 and 100, there is a more practical way to calculate each stat, here is the guide. Hope this helps. @RysPicz Elizn is correct. Level 50 2 IVs = 1 point (31 IVs = 15,5) 8 EVs = 1 point (4 EVs = 0,5) HP: 31 IVs + 4 EVs = 15,5 + 0,5 = 16
  22. Welcome GuiVilar! Rache, one of the developers, answered this question a while ago, saying that ROM hacks would not be implemented. They might update to B/W2 in order to support future generations, however I don't see that happening for a while since they just released Johto and it seems like they now want to focus on endgame content. These are just guesses since no information has been released.
  23. I have no information regarding this situation and you are probably right. I base my reasoning on the fact that these abilities are already coded and the game has updated its movepool with Gen 9, so it should theoretically be possible to obtain them: - Zapdos (Gen 6) Static - Entei (Gen 7) Inner Focus - Gallade (Gen 9) Sharpness So the decision not to add them must be driven by other considerations or perhaps it's just temporary before the developers find a way to do it.
