Yes. No. A curious fact, even if you use a Lv.100 pogeyman to battle and it gains no exp, the pokemon in the daycare will get 60% of the exp the pokemon in daycare would obtain.

It was banned as the council deemed it "uncompetitive", the ban took place before the split and stayed after it. One of the reasons was the lack of team preview, among others. Wish I could link the original discussion thread, but it got nuked by our staff taking poor decisions as usual so yeah.
