It was done on purpose, during the PTS when the system was being tested, it was needed as a way to get people to actually test the system instead of not signing up to try and get a specific prize, it was kept for other reasons, I don't want to misquote anybody so I won't. I would suggest making a suggestion if one doesn't already exist and you think the system should be changed, one outside of the event suggestion/feedback thread IMO since it pertains to modifying the system and not feedback about a event specifically. Also, I plan on posting Mays winners sometime today.

I believe they typically last for 2 months? At which time another discussion is had about them and the fate of the pokemon is ultimately decided.
