  1. I agree, but it hard to pick 4 moves from it's move pool. losing hp-ice or dont bring Aura sphere. it does not like Gallade(before nerfed) breaks whole meta with 4 moves. If a pokemon has 6 moves then Conkeldorr end this match already. I did not express that jolteon was a better option, I described their competitive relationship and the trade-off between speed/movepool in OU. There is alot of player spamming stall teams with Shedinja+dugdrio and Gastrodon+ttar which solves it easily. Raikou's offensive advantage is more reflected in the face of the HO team cz Aura sphere kills mamos/excadrill, then rest of many attakers hate high speed electric+ice combo moves. Better change Kou to Zapdos, I think Raikou stays aroud UUBL
  2. Apart from something you mentioned, you can try Spd hippowdon, nidoqueen, Shedinja, dugdrio, Chansey, AV mienshao, ttar...... Just alot Raikou is playable due to it's unique move pool and quite good spa/spd. But Raikou and Jolteon have a strong competition relationship, lose speed to get a fighting move sounds cool, it beats Mamos and excadrill which many player use these to stop Electrc+Ice move. But 115 speed let Raikou slower than dugdrio, weavile, scarf ttar, tie speed with Starmie. Jolteon get faster speed and use baton pass run away. Finally Raikou has a useless ability. Imo Raikou = Jolteon, They are different, but the strength is consistent, both have serious shortcoming. So I think Raikou is on it's way to UU just like Jolteon xd

  4. These will lose to Pressure Ability in 1 vs 1, A Sub+Protect CM suicune, best answer could be bring two mons to check it, let Suicune do not have enough moves to beat other one. Like Sub+Protect Glisgor + Chansey. Or Leafstorm+giga drain Serp, Bullet seed Ferrothoron, np rotom-wash, Infiltrator Toxic Golbat. Might good as well

  6. I would rather get some extra PPmax, than a Amoonguss without HA Also I suggest that repeated hats can convert to BP, effectively way and do not increase your workload ^^
  7. From a playability point of view, I think PP nerf was a bad update. Following gen9 sounds far-fetched, Because version updates will always filter out inappropriate content and do not add in the game, such as full damage knock-off for now. PP nerf let some defensive pokemon could not hold as a defense core in a balance team. For example: Golbat's 8 roost could be consumed by 8 draco mentor from garchomp. Xato's 8 roost consumed by Ferrothorn's gyro ball. Mandibuzz's roost could consumed by Dragonite's 8 draco mentor or Focus blast from cm/trick room Reuniclus. Also with 8 roost+taunt, Mandibuzz still lose to chansey Seismic Toss without helmet. Finally even with helmet, Skarmory lose to Chansey in 1 vs 1 as well. That not just added the presure you stop a attaker, also quite hard to sweep the game because of limited recover moves. It brings these kind of mons do not safely check more than one attacker/hazard setter as well. That force you might need to use Golbat+Rotom in game to defog rocks from garchomp safely, so ur golbat could save some pp to check fighting types. But initially Golbat can check like conkeldorr+mix garchomp. OU added strong HAs like Regenerator/poison heal, then give a nerf to recover moves? It's a little ridiculous. This allows the defensive pokemons already under strong competition with new great HAs, and lose its competitiveness directly. However, Nerf a stuff which was not strong, I think this needs to be avoided.

  10. I thought a tier with Mandibuzz/hippowdon/ditto and mence can solve this, but however I agree with it has good wallbreaking skill also quite fast speed.

  12. Regen core is a good core, And it has a lot of flexibility to build a stall or balance team, so many players choose to play it in tours Jan. The watching experience was extremly poor if mirror match occur. You can still find thousands of ways to beat them, Gallade was easiest way.
  13. From a playability point of view, I don't like both PP nerf and Ban Gallade. But don't forget that this is a competitive game, delete some parts in game is inevitable.
  14. Ban gallade is not the best solution imo, but however we did something. Do we get gallade back when it nerfed(like SD chomp), or once we get more stuff in PVP? I think we need to encourage the diversity of gameplay and continue to address this issue, it might cause regen stall mirror match in many tours.

  16. The cutoff can be a good reference, but I still believe that the final step requires members to vote, which can come from within the TC. It needs think both checks and usage once a Pokémon drop to lower tier, For example: Rise up Clef and drop Venomoth. Then we need Gigalith go together to lower tier. But how about giga do not meet the cutoff, do we wait for it become lower usage? So it would be a flexible situation when we need tier change. My opinion is TC vote is necessary. And cutoff could be a good reference to start voting.
  17. I think 16 recover OR remove Sacred Sword is a suitable solution: If s-sword is removed, Gallade will force to run CC, def nerf will let trap mons kill him easier. So traditional weavile balance might can solve it really easily. With Skar/ferrothorn+weavile, Gallade force to click CC, then get damage from helmet and lo, finally -1 def killed by pursuit really ez. +1 252 Atk Weavile Pursuit (40 BP) vs. -1 0 HP / 0 Def Gallade: 199-235 (71.8 - 84.8%) Scarf gallade can solve this situation, by lock S-sword outspeed weavile. But it get risk from Weavile when he lock psycut. Additionally, remove s-sowrd only effect Gallade vs Weavile/scarf ttar Balance stall, we already know gallade is not op when he faces HO, nerf s-sword won't really make him worse to vs offensive team. Gallade's OP wall breaking skill is something we need start thinking about. Then PP nerf...... hope we get it back, I would like to try everything and I haven't start play that and it get nerfed Something about pp nerf: How 60 mins match happends. It usually caused when Stall vs Stall, once guss/glisor get HA and mienshao get AV item, they were too good in this meta at that time, and fit many different playstyle. You can build a BO by adding guss cz spore can help sweepers. Same as spikes glisor and knock off mienshao etc...... also they are popular stall members as well. Regen mons VS Regen mons creates endless match, they wont die if you dont want them die, when mirror match happends, These mons got such a high usage because they were too strong and many players were using them, either rank and tournament. PP nerf decrease 60 mins match certainly, stall usage droped and Stall VS Stall will less happends, but that wasn't the mean problem, Glisor will change to protect and Guss still there, they can play another 60 mins match once it face a other regen stall...... Gallade is a mon who can fix this, He weakened the strength of these endless match members. The only victims are traditional walls who rely on recover instead, and I can not find any reason to nerf them. If this updates can affect a lot of mons obviously, how this judgment can made so easily and quickly, and changing back seems hard......? I wish we can try Gallade + 16 recover together, in next season.
  18. You have billion of hard counter vs Rotom: Black sludge guss/roserade, AV mienshao, mail blissey..... Covers either def/spd/np/trick. (Trick sludge nerf rotom's hp, and AV will let rotom can not use trick anymore). And by predicting 1 time of trick, will let trick rotom becomes 0 threaten to stall, VS gallade you need keep predicting correct, one time in game is far not enough. Not better than Rotom≠ No discustion about nerf/ban Gallade. It depends on the effect it brings, it can be many different way to show. There 0 hard conter to Gallade, makes defensive playstyle hard vs him. then HO team find no pressure facing it. So it is a work about Gallade→Stall. We can not create a new pokemon to counter Gallade, what I think is buff walls to change the situation better. We get few options but is seem to be low usage, because nerfed PP make many walls not good to stay in OU, bring low usage wall might can solve Gallade in ur team, but at same time easier lose to the others. Ban is not a good solution, it's a wall breaker UB only, nerf wall breaking ability or buff walls should be a good way to start. Ban it cause guss+mienshao VS guss+mienshao again and 60 mins match back to OU. Finally, sorry for my expression of repetition

It's true, but Ban gallade= Glisor/Amoonguss Stronger, during Jan and Feb, many PSL OU matches were 60 mins because new update on Glisor/guss make many people spam them--they are too strong, and Gallade limit the usage of this team style now. We need hold both situation, Gallade and glisor/guss mirror match, imo they still strong in this meta, but PP nerf cause Def reuniclus/mence/Dnight etc not really fit this meta (trick room Reu is over 50% now in June), those walls can more or less give some limitation to gallade, if we can turn 16 pp back it can fit OU meta more, so you dont lose to the others while you have more option to add in ur team for checking gallade. (Gallade struggle on it's moves as well if more checks increase in OU) Ban Gallade is not a good solution either, we just saw how it looks when many people spam Glisor and play mirror match in Jan.
  20. Solve Gallade is hard, Ban gallade cause 60 mins match back to OU, With out any nerf he kills a playstyle. Again, how about get pp nerf back, so stall will be buffed and solve gallade better. I don't think we need to solve the problem in turn, if we can "test" gallade, why dont we “test” gallade + 16 recover as well, to see how the meta and tour happends. Because Gallade seems only caused problem to Balance/Stall teamstyle, If we have a 16 recover helmet sybleye can strongly hold Gallade, also makes sybleye not bad in OU, then we can start thinking about this option. In fact, gallade's usage rise to top 5 in June, at same time OU meta told us, you need change to HO/rain so you dont potentially smashed by gallade. We need do something. Also, I'm not sure why PP nerf is happend, but PP nerf do not exactly solve the 60 mins problem which happends in OU meta Jan/Feb. Perhaps this was the best option at that time, but the main problem is Glisor/Amoonguss/Av mienshao were too strong, 60 mins match usually happends Balance vs Stall or Stall vs Stall, and because Glisor/guss were too strong, makes many players pick them and play mirror match to the other. that's how 60 mins match occur. Gen9 move updates give us Gallade, CC/ZenH breloom and Rock hydregon. HO gain many new ways to vs Stall, doesn't matter HO can win Stall or not, it mostly 20 mins and match will end. The usage of HO team style = Less 60 mins match in rank and tour. Stall was not strong, it is one of a game style. I believe 60 match will less happends sence we have gen9 move/ability update. It's time to get nerf back.
  21. I agree with ur idea, but the only thing is we need find a most suitable way to solve this. Like we just discussed we can not ban it Now gallade seems not use ice-punch for lo/cb set, because +2 psy-cut kill glisor, and Bold Mence/Dnight have amolst 0 usage. when we bring back pp nerf, Sybleye/Mence/Dnight are buffed, Leaf blade/ice punch will be more improtant. That makes gallade struggle more aboout move choice, and balance the situation of stall facing this. I am not saying: Stall can win gallade after it nerfed by my way, I was expressing a balance way about how we solve this.
  22. What I want to express is that the problem is not only about gallade, the updates this year have led to this situation. Firstly we can not ban Gallade, as Madara just posted, without gallade then 2 regen+glisor boring mirror match will everywhere which is unhealthy. So, we need limit gallade, because it cause a team style not even playable which sounds just crazy. Gallade not like Crawdaunt, Gallade still can find a killing chance even facing HO team, like vs breloom or sp attackers like hyregon/starmie/volcarona. Gallade's lower limits and upper limits are relatively highier than other mons. It destroys stall team and at same time not useless like Crawdaunt when it facing HO team. Like what we discussed, we can not ban gallade, because it causes game back to 60 mins. We can only increase negative effects or give buff to traditional walls to solve this. I hope we can Ban S-sowrd and change pp nerf back, and I do think it is the best solution: If we take away Sacred sword, gallade have to change to CC which gives -1 def also only 8 PP. 252 Atk Choice Band Weavile Pursuit (40 BP) vs. -1 0 HP / 0 Def Gallade: 105-124 (73.4 - 86.7%) Combination like Helmet skar+CB weavile get a less pressure way to solve lo gallade if ban Sacred sword, and at same time with SD gallade, it strugles with night slash/ice punch/leave blade for it's last move, At same time if we change pp nerf back to increase the usage of Def Dnight/Salamence/Sybleye, it will be a best way to change this situation for this meta now. In this way, it only effect gallade vs stall team, Gallade ttill extremely destructive, but theoretically he would not be able to kill all walls--have to struggle with move choice just like Conkeldorr. and give that stall playstyle back to this meta. We already know gallade is not op when it fascing ho/rain team, that make us can not over nerf gallade. Finnaly I hope my comment will be answered, because it seems to be ignored. after a this topic been created a month later.
