Hey everyone, i'm Edward and i joined the forum just to participate in this interesting contest. My in-game name is Hellenia. I'll enter with my sprite art depiction of Astrazelle, which was made in MS Paint. Actual Size: Resized: Design Breakdown: The rules informed me that it was best if we stayed truth to the artstyle, so i went ahead and did just that. Astrazelle is the gazelle pokemon, an animal that, of course stands on 4 feet and is electric/fighting type. So Raikou and Jolteon were indeed my main inpiration sources for my criation. Ken sugimori's electric pokemon like elekid, zapdos, jolteon and raikou seem to be depicted with spiky black spots to indicate electricity so i took that idea and incorporated a black thunder on Astrazelle's belly , which is where gazelles have their typical black/brown marks as well as some darker spots in other parts of the body, mainly in the head. The Iron legs and feet were not meant to be an indicator of an steel type, which Astrazelle is not. They were supposed to represent a fighting warrior's armour which, in my opinion fits it's fighting type better than anything else. And it is supposed to be what Astrazelle uses to either punch or kick. To make it more characteristic of a sprite from a pokemon game, i took the colours used on raikou's sprites for emerald and implemented them on Astrazelle's sprite. Good luck for everyone else, it was a good experience to do a pokemon sprite for the first time. Happy holidays :P Edit: I may soon make an actual non.sprite of my creature, if i find the time...
