  1. Or simply increase server slots during popularity spikes, maybe that’s already the case who knows. Having 2 separate servers is definitely not a good idea because one will eventually die out when the dust settles. The queue is not that egregious, just gotta wait a few minutes it won’t discourage any new players. If anything it would be the opposite, they’ll learn that pokemmo still receives updates and new content and that we manage to maintain a healthy player base which might entice them more to stay
  2. let’s get rid of the capitalistic model, no more expensive shinies planned shiny market for everyone, join me comrades
  3. I can’t speak on their behalf anymore but just to give you some insight, it used to be the staff member’s decision. It’s been the policy for a while. When I was overseeing events I used to highly recommend my colleagues especially newer staff members to use our tiering system for prize distribution but the bottom line was, it’s their decision. Not every staff member has the same pvp awareness so prizes may differ from staff to staff
  4. i’d make the trick house a community-driven event that works similarly to mario maker, players make it, other players pay a fee to play that adds up to the reward or something, the more challenging it is the more the reward grows or somethin
  5. Unlocking all hairstyles between existing gender settings is a not a bad idea and seems like a fair request. However I’m just not sure if it’s worth the hassle to rewrite npc dialogs or battles even, maybe I’m wrong but I doubt many players pay much attention to dialogs anyway. Like TohnR said, PokeMMO tries to stay the closest to the real thing and tries as much as possible to not alter the core-game experience. Client-wise I’m sure something could be done but it’s probably not a priority for now with Johto coming out. I’m not sure why some users had to go out of their way to make you feel miserable, props to you for being the bigger person Edit: thank you whoever removed them
  6. time is relative einstein said that
  7. If you really do have no clue then perhaps the best course of action is to refrain from making a post in the first place. Their criticisms is also fair and well-thought-out, although harsh in some cases. You may disagree with them which is fine, but don’t go around and pretend everything that has been said was done in bad faith. If you didn’t bother to go through everything they said and/or try to understand then that’s on you and ignoring that on purpose makes you come off as dishonest and hypocritical. I’m pretty sure their biggest concern is more about preserving their legacy rather than the actual reward itself
  8. I used ingame maps/sprites then spent some time on photoshop (FYI it was originally Sinnoh's Pokemon Mansion)

  10. Is that your only takeaway from my entire post? Okay sure whatever I guess. You have to stop saying stuff you cannot even verify or back up the slightest. You are digging through several years-old posts that says a bunch of things that are most likely outdated and taken out of context to base your assumptions on, as well as using common rumors running around in the community and your own personnal experience, again as a player who has never gain access to this very limited information, to try to piece things together. You don't have all the information, if not any at all, yet here you are saying a bunch of stuff as if they're undisputed facts. You are clueless.
  11. Well in case it wasnt clear enough I was making fun of you. You seem to know a lot for someone who hasn't had to work with the anticheat or staff, this is just based off your own personal experience. While yes it might seems like your support ticket might have been what got you banned, you'll never know for sure. For all we know it could just be a coincidence. You understand that being here for several years doesn't prevent anyone from breaking the rules over night, right? To me, it just seems like you got caught your pants down while trying to seek some infos in order to avoid getting caught. Perhaps the reason you've never seen captchas before is because you weren't the one playing after all
  12. well the anticheat seems to be working just fine, you just showed us the proof
  13. Yet it suits a Pokemon MMO very well. Perhaps from your POV alone, this option looks more appealing but you have to look at the bigger picture here. Imagine the effect it would have at a larger scale with thousands of players. Retaining breeders would have a devastating effect on the game economy. It means no more requirement for breeding (2 pokemon cost) all the while allowing an infinite amount of competitive pokemon to flood the market. The market ends up saturated and the overall value of breeders and bred/competitive pokemon would collapse to nothingness (Demand < Supply). Sacrificing parents is a cost that creates demand over time and if you remove that, you just end up with an infinite supply and close to zero demand and that's not good for a healthy economy. Also, what the point of removing the ability to trade Pokemon/bred Pokemon... in a pokemon game? Isn't trading like, one of the biggest part of Pokemon in general with the whole catch'em all thing? Beside, you just end up removing an entire business and interaction in a mmo, might as well just stick to playing on your own at this point.
  14. Trading between accounts is perfectly fine. What's not is purchasing in-game currency with real life money, so as long as it does not involve real money you shouldn't have to worry, no matter how staff conduct their investigations

Oh my, the irony. On what grounds can you restore the truth? How come you are able restore the truth when you have no idea what you are talking about? You don't know how the PokeMMO moderation team work these cases and yet here you are talking out of your hat, telling us your version of the truth from your very limited perspective as a player. How do you even know if these "injustices" are real in the first place? Say I decide to RMT and then get banned but I tell everyone I didn't do it, how do you know I'm not lying? How can you prove that your friends have been unfairly banned? For all you know they could be lying to you to save face. Obviously, mistakes happen and will always happen because after all, to err is human. That's why there's a ban appeal system, so that players who have been unfairly banned may prove their innocence. You are in no position to claim such things.
  16. Indeed, one can certainly acquire a lot of wealth by selling Reward Points, there's no denying that. I've also argued that wealthy players tend to be in a more comfortable position than newer players in a previous response. However, it doesn't seem fair to compare PokeMMO to gacha games since they're basically gambling games in most cases. You pay with real money in order to obtain an item/character and yet you don't have the option to choose what you receive. Meanwhile, the gameplay (if you could even call that gameplay) heavily depends on what you have obtained. Unless you're extremely lucky, looting the most powerful ones will require you to put in money in order to get what you want and to be somewhat up to par. Sure they give out free things to open every now and then but the odds of finding everything you need going the free-to-play path are ridiculously low and would require you to play for months or even years to achieve the likes of whales in p2w. You don't have that randomness to take into account in PokeMMO and it isn't actively preventing you from accessing part of the content unless you pay with real currency. Now it may not be perfect for some, but I feel like the devs have been trying to make it so it is much less expensive and requires much less grind to breed perfect Pokemon through the years. They introduced a reward system for pvp matchmaking system which allow players to gain a wide range of prizes which can then be used in return in PvP. Matchmaking also rewards the player with Battle Points which can be used to purchase breeding items, among others, lowering considerably the cost of breeding. It is much more easier and more rewarding for new players to begin PvP than it ever was. It requires some farming initially but once you've build up a team or two, there's clearly a viable way to play matchmaking/tournaments and improving your PC at the same time with little need of grinding.
  17. As long as there is no clear explanation of how shinies and vanities give advantages to players, I will have to disagree, at least for pve. It's purely cosmetic and seems to me like a personnal win rather than anything or maybe an ego thing for some. Their value is mostly based on rarity and demand over supply, by the players and not set by default by the game (except their base RP price when first introduced, but then again it depends on how players are willing to pay with pokeyens at release). I would think differently if for instance shinies were stronger than their normal counterpart but that's currently not the case here. I can understand how one can feel this way if their sole purpose in the game was to collect them but to claim that everything is p2w based on this very limited and non-competitive part of the game is disingenuous, when the rest of the game is very accessible without investing any real money. Again, nobody is winning anything in an unfair manner over anyone when we talk about shinies and vanities, because there's nothing to win and no clear winners other than some personnal satisfaction. There's nothing competitive in flexing your wealth in Vermilion City.
  18. The way I see this, the addition of lures was made to increase the value of certain pokemon such as starters by adding a variable cost. Correct me if I'm wrong but from my understanding, the encounter rates for the Expert Lure is likely the same or close to what it used to be before they were introduced while the premium lures give additional buffs, though they are not acquired the same way. One can be purchased at a relatively cheap price using in-game currency and the rest with Reward Points or as secondhand items with in-game currency. Since Reward Points can be acquired through other means than real money (ie: with pokeyens and by taking part in official events), I can't hardly see as being "locked behind a paywall", or at least it's a very soft paywall. Sure players can skip the grind part by buying directly RPs from the Gift Shop, but in the end "free-to-play" players can still acquire those items quite easily. So what would you define pay-to-win in PokeMMO exactly? Imo the only thing remotely close to be p2w revolves around PvP and nothing else. Please enlighten me because I don't see what advantages you have by having rare shinies or rare vanities over those who don't except maybe some street cred perhaps, you don't really win over anyone. The only thing that would make sense is if you want to sell them to gain money and acquired resources but that's barely reliable since it's heavily based on luck. In regard to PvP, wealthy players or players with more resources than the average do benefit from it. Older and/or wealthy players tend to have more resources and better resources than newer players. For instance, perfect competitive Pokemon which cost more than budget competitive pokemon. Having better IVd Pokemons give you better odds in certain battle scenarios and may decide whether or not you would survive a hit and may also decide whether or not you would K.O the opposing Pokemon. What's more, having many competitive Pokemons at the ready also helps with preventing scouting and counter team, as well as making it hard for other players to know your every moveset. And finally, it's easier to adapt to new metas when you have the means to breed current meta pokemon. Still that doesn't guarantee you're going to win every single match. That's where skill gets involved in the equation and in the end, skill cannot be bought. That being said, it doesn't seem to be specific to PokeMMO but rather inherent to the MMO genre in general. Personally I've never felt like PokeMMO was play-to-win per se since the advantages you gain are not egregious, it's even pretty mild tbh, but more like pay to quicken progress. I'll say though. selling RPs does reduce considerably the grinding aspect and sure helps to amass wealth pretty fast, that's if you're willing to pay the price.
  19. I dunno man, urban dictionnary or not, it's pretty close to how I would define pay to win personally lol and it doesn't make his arguments less valid
