Also, it can be traded as a gift to surprise a friend if the egg name were chaged to only "Egg", without the poke's name.

I could see a prerequisite in breeding allowing for something like this, like if one the Pokemon is holding a "Tree Mail" item for example, and it is addressed to a specific user when breeding. The old man would then give a new prompt, noticing the mail and asking if you're sure he should mail the egg to 'x' person. The addressed person would then instantly receive an egg in the mail, and the mail object would be attached to the mail, not the egg.
