Nitro
At the end of the Unova campaign we have to catch Zekrom, later he turns a room ornament. We have now 6 legendaries and 1 mith available to permanently catch. That Zekrom will be 'given' to us in the future? Link to comment
Rache
Allowing permanent ownership of something as powerful as Zekrom would be unhealthy for the game. It would immediately be banned from competitive play and would be extremely dominant in PvE settings too. It's quite a bit stronger than the other legendaries and mythicals that have been released thus far. kenjimAd 1 Link to comment

Would it ever be possible to allow pokemon like this as follower sprite only but not usable in any battles? maintaining the balance of both pvp and pve but still allowing players to show them off or use them for outfit combos. You have Zekrom in your Unova room. Its too expensive to maintain a 10 feet dragon in a average house and you want It for an outfit MRxshiny and TohnR 2 Link to comment

It doesn't have a full set of walking sprites, so no. Even if this weren't the case, one of the benefits of the current follower implementation is its ability to motivate other players. Seeing someone with a rare and impressive shiny or obtainable legendary is often a reason that a player might choose to hunt for their own, which they can then show off with pride themselves. Rare and special followers mean something to other players due to the immense amount of effort put into obtaining them. For that reason (among many others), I'm really not a fan of the idea of equipping followers that you don't actually own, especially when it's something as big and flashy as an uber legendary with a lot of lore behind it. lILucyIl
I think it must be, because it must be difficult to balance them in the current game. Edited March 26 by lILucyIl Link to comment

Wasnt specific to Zekrom, just about the potential for Uber Mons. Other Ubers do have full walking sprites, correct? 8 hours ago, Rache said: Rare and special followers mean something to other players due to the immense amount of effort put into obtaining them. Why not make them obtainable but not useable then? Place them as a reward behind 100 max level raid completions (for example) and make them ignore you just like mons above level cap do in PvE and ban it in PVP. Satisfies both the ownership problem and the immense effort of obtaining while maintaining the balance in both aspects. Edited March 26 by XanarchyNL Link to comment

It's uncommon for players to permanently catch a legendary Pokemon and then have it turn into a mere room ornament. The narrative usually circles back around to allow you to use the legendary in battle. Edited March 26 by sper1957 Link to comment

In other words, for a long time they will not allow major legendaries for PvE except for those that already exist. Link to comment

Legendaries in PvE could be edited to always have 10/20 Lvs less than Npc Pokemon Link to comment
