Stall the Pokémon ( I use nosepass sturdy+ pain spilt) then spam timer balls. It actually depends on RNG .
Some people catch them with single ball only. Without even damaging the alpha -

LËGEND's Bounty hunt challenge
Information :
This challenge where you will get 5 days to catch a bounty . And The one submits first wins the event . The submission time only will be during the event. If multiple players gets 31x3 then the the winner will be determine by the highest ivs.
FAQ:Q : What if I kill a shiny bounty accidently ?
A : Send a SS of it and you still win the challenge.
Q : Can I submit in the discord or forum comments ?A : Yes , As long as you are filling all the information about the pokemon you caught. Must Screen Shot all the details.
Q : Can I submit after the challenge ?A : No.
Date :Starts from 13th November Sunday and ends in 17th November.
13th Sunday to 17th Thursday.
Submit :In Friday 18th November. Submit it to TiddoO . Via Whisper , Discord , Comment.
Pokemon:
Location:Anywhere , where you can catch dittos.
Requirments:
To win the bounty you need to catch a ditto with 31x3 IVS , 3 times 31.
As Bonus bounty need to catch a shiny ditto with 31x1 IVS , 1 times 31.
Rules:- You can't use a alt to catch the bounty the OT must be yours.
- Only the team members are allowed to participate.
- You must submit your entry to the host.
- The catching date must be in 13th November - 17th November.
- You must submit only one entry.
- Evolved or unevolved forms of the listed Pokémon will not be accepted as a valid entry.
- All Pokémon must remain unchanged (untrained/unevolved...).
- If multiple players gets 31x3 then the the winner will be determine by the highest IVS.

Wouldn't say that it was that hard since I had to to use the same team as the previous year .
Just changed a little for the pumpthief.
Yeah perhaps the pokemons to fight the boss are limited (Krockdile , Aerodactyl , Hydregion same in all halloween) -
