ok im going to link this guide https://forums.pokemmo.eu/index.php?/topic/49518-a-guide-to-moves-with-the-physicalspecial-split/ which is pretty good. go take a look at the split. there are absolutely no special dark special fighting special steel (on nyi legendary does not count) phsyical psychic and no viable moves for special dragon special ground special rock special flying physical poison physical ghost with the exception of hp for special dragon/ground/rock/flying. further more many types like physical bug have only one good viable move in it (megahorn) with a very small pool of pokemon that can learn it. when the split happened 112 moves were added. the reason these moves were added to balance everything. i dont see any reason at all not to balance the game with these moves and loads of reason why not doing it is a bad idea. credits to artemiseta/apollofire for pointing out not everyone thinks this way already EDIT: @ indigo http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_moves #355-467

rollout is a rock type in normal. struggle is type less in all but gen 1 so maybe it should have it's own group? idk but great guide. and does this mean gen 4 moves not going to be added with the split?

something i see that might be a problem is we currently use the ot to keep track of the number of shinys in the market, who has them, and whether the current owner is a scammer. if this were implemented, there would be no way to tell how many shinys there are in the market (and therefore rarity) and how people got them. with catch by dates and ot changeable as everything else, it becomes infinity easier to scam and sell high value pokemon, and it becomes much harder for shiny traders VD peeps to keep track of the rarity of pokemon.

this is not [discussion] salamance here. we are talking about the competitive changes the physical/spec split will brings and there pros and cons. no one pokemon possible ban is more important then this split. how many pokemon get better? how many pokemon get worse? what pokemon? how will this change the meta game? should we do this and why? thats what we should be talking about. just ignore the scrubs. imo pursuit will be huge but if we get volt switch and u-turn it'll be manageable. pursuit only has +6 priority if you switch. if you use u-turn or volt switch, ect.... the pursuit is only normal priority. this + sub/disable is enough i think to counter lax. things like sub/disable/mean look/perish gar with leftys will trap and kill pursuit snors all day.

^this. was banned in 4 originally now it has larger moveset with only negative being weaker outrage but smaller pond of pokemon. throw out the big fish lest eat the whole pond. woudnt sub + disable gar get around cb lax?
