1. I'm no pro, but I do love to battle. Dismiss my thoughts if you think only the pros can have good ideas. :P

    A short spoiler.
To be fair, if players go purely on statistics, they don't have a hope in hell. You've got to get the feel of your team, by using it. Trial and error style. You can't account for hax on paper, and you sure as hell can't calculate and predict everything. A lot of people tend to have unique quirks and variations of the same Pokemon for flexible teams. Knowing the main threats of your tier is a good start, but you've got to use that. Build a team around them or build a team to take them out, whatever you're going for. Have variations and multiple teams, for your own flexibility. Other than that, just pray for luck and give it your all.

  2. Meh, I don't like the idea of items being given for free.

I got bored as hell with Minecraft because you can just stick Creative on and have no challenge whatsoever, and I'm the type that loves building rather than the mining/exploring.

Other than that, it's a Secret Base with a different name. Teams usually grab a random building and "claim" it as a HQ.

Most of the teams I've been in claim PC top floors in various towns/cities, or other places that aren't flooded with people for that privacy.

That's just my thoughts on it.

  3. I'm all for Bo1, for the reason Vorred stated.

I don't want players that run surprises to be shat on because they lose their surprise advantage after game 1.

I like to run unlikely surprises, just because I want to ry out a few Pokemon and a different core set to what happens most often.

After the first game, my surprise element is ruined, and the opponent could easily win the other two fights, with no surprises left to give myself an edge.

  4. Plssssss switch ADV out for DPP :D

edit: i'll also put my vote in for ORAS OU over VGC but I think i'm in the minority on that one. Either one will be entertaining, cant go wrong there

As a fan of DPP, I support Gunt's suggestion to replace Gen3.

I'm not sure about ORAS vs VGC. The Bo3 VGC worked rather nicely S3, and was relatively quick, however ORAS could be fun.

  5. More PSL! \o/ I miss Thinkie, but I think(hue) you'll be a damn good host, Orange. o7

If you need any help with this, I'd love to be there for you.

If not, best of luck, Orango. This season's fun is just about to begin. :P

I'll also donate most of what little I have remaining, if that's cool with you.

Will only be 100k and what I can get for selling a Shiny Rat. I've been breeding too much. xD

  6. Too bad more of you were not online :(

You all have been the greatest teammates a person could ask for. We had so many hilarious times! I know you all will continue to grow as a team, and I expect many official wins to come in the future ;)  I'll always be around so be sure to send me a whisper or jump in teamspeak!  Take care everyone!

  7. I really enjoy this. It's basically a guide on "what not to do" in competitve, and gives a lot of helpful hints and information to help elevate your play.

Players really hurt themselves by geting into a mindset that if it's not top usage, it's trash, which limits their growth.

I used to do too much paperwork and think it was all statistics. Boy was I wrecked when I first brought my "perfect paper" team to a competition...

I had never really gotten into MMO competitive much, since then (besides PSL), but I love to team craft and play against people on things like Showdown, it's a good way to kill time and get in some practice. This has helped influence me to tweak a few things to my usual style.

    Thanks, Orango. <3
I hope my comment is very... commenting. :P

It's actually a helpful guide to help people notice where their flaws are as players, and how to make some changes, and improve themselves.
EDIT: On a side, there are others who pray too hard on RNG to save them in a bad situation. They tend to get demoralized when they get let down, opening them up to more mistakes.
