Hi Lorewaifu, I wanted to add that now Slowpoke also appears as 100% in the water in Slowpoke Well.

Groups are Monster and Water 1, which is different from Whismur and has the same catch rate. Levels are 20-25.

It can have Confusion and Water Pulse (also Disable) so I guess Own Tempo Smeargle is better here? I would just Falseswipe and throw balls, but worth saying I guess.

In the spanish section you put Paras instead of Hoppip for Fairy group btw.

    omg

    ty!

I'll fix it whenever I update it for Johto XD

    soon™

  2. gray out the non highlighted pokemon when searching in the PC

sometimes I struggle to find which Pokémons are highlighted, the green isn't too noticable and the rest of the pokemon not changing at all makes it difficult to see sometimes

Can you send us a screenshot of your party?

What horde are you killing? (seems tentacruels on battlefrontier)

    What are their equipped items?

If I'm not mistaken, and trying to make a table with how exp is split with exp amplifier

    image.thumb.png.f398848a2bd171224b5d59657b31040d.png

The way it works is 25% between active battlers, and then 75% split between ALL PARTY MEMBERS BELOW LEVEL 100, which includes your Slot 1 Pokemon if it's not max LV, in this case Pikachu should get 25% (active battler) + (75% / 2 = 37.5%) inactive battle exp, and your Cyndaquil 37.5%.

    share that sheet o_o

You had overcomplicated it by adding details, but in the end it becomes a pay to winhatch.

This is never a balanced solution in mmo.

yes cuz I got excited, in the end it's just a rough idea of what can be done

and yes! that's the point, trading the afk time for money grinding, egg hunting is all about money in the end and this is an MMO, it would be balanced with its cost and adjusting the time difference to just having them in the party if they implement a (positive) time difference at all

    2 hours ago, Proteus84 said:

You have to make sure that the original method remains the best, other than free.
So the new way is just an alternative, a plus, it wouldn't impact the game really much.

then what would be the point of adding it?

it's purpose is to impact the game a lot for the subset of players that egg hunt, in a very positive way, the second and third options I proposed in the post boil down to "egg hatching while offline vewwy pls🥺🥺" if there's any concern of people getting egg shinies faster cuz they have more money (already the case lol)

Think the daycare for levelling up

the daycare is bad cuz level up services are better, which is a thing unique to it's MMO nature

    2 hours ago, Proteus84 said:

The daycare DOESN’T make them hatch simultaneously like in you idea.

Starts with egg in the first slot. After it is ready to hatch, they move to the second slot, and then the third.

    It’s a chain.

it would do the same with my idea! probably didn't make it clear enough x_x

    2 hours ago, Proteus84 said:

It’s start to become useful, as you can store 15 Eggs and go offline and have them ready after 5 hours.

it isn't useful when you can hatch the same amount of eggs in around 11 mins with dono and a flame body(and other abilities) Mon

it's pretty much useless, it wouldn't make sense to introduce a feature that no one would use, the cost is too big and it only has downsides

    2 hours ago, Proteus84 said:

Then developers could let you buy Incubator slot expansion with BP, including a little increase % speeding up the process. (But it would never become as fast as the usual way).

why bp? way messier than RP imo

and unless it could get to the speed of holding them in party without any boost and could hold hundreds of them it still wouldn't be used at all, the price extremely high for not too much reward

    2 hours ago, Proteus84 said:

They could adjust it with the players and economy's feedback. Make it slower, faster, cheaper, you have to go to daycare to withdraw the egg, or just do everything in PC...

it would need to be way cheaper and way bigger in capacity for it to be worth it imo

  5. 6 hours ago, WangJinZhu said:

that part is what i want them to do

    same

but the suggestion has been around for YEARS so there is a good reason to not do it, be it for the economy or keeping super rares super rares (I disagree cuz they still be super rare and the real cap on egg hunts should be money and not hatching time afking in front of the pc but oh well) or any other reason

that's why I suggest something more resource intensive for the player so it isn't free and it's a hit on the hunt making it less tedious but at a cost

and the other one if they don't want to make it any faster but still freeing the players to do other stuff or just not needing to have the game open for hours swapping eggs, which heavily affects those who don't have a secondary device

  6. this is a summary of one of my suggestions from a previous post , I wanted to have it on its own individual post, better formated and a bit more polished:

the worst part of egg hunting isn't the hundreds of millions spent, nor the hours making those eggs, the worst part is being afk for hours hatching eggs, slowing down the process immensely for no reason and punishing players who don't have multiple devices that would like to use their playtime for something more interactive than sitting in front of the PC and changing the eggs every few minutes for hours

I have a solution for that, with 2 possible implementations:

    1. more complicated and resource "intensive"

    - There would be a machine right next to the PC in the basement of the Mt silver pokemon center

    -works while offline

-1 box of initial capacity, can be expanded via RP

-60 minutes of hatching time per box, 1 minute per egg

-500-1500 pokeyen fee to use the machine depending on the egg amount

-once activated, the machine cannot be accessed until all eggs are hatched or the power runs out

-items can be placed inside the machine that will boost it's capacities

•power boosting items: items like a light ball could be used to increase the machine's energy aka how many eggs it can hatch per use, by default it's 60

•Time boosting items: items like charcoal, fire gems etc could be used to reduce the hatching time by a certain percentage, capping at 1s per egg, item % boost add, ie: I put x10 charcoal in the machine, each ones gives a 10% boost to reach the 1s cap they last x amount of uses

pokemon with hatching time accelerating abilties could be used too, they would get consumed and their boost could be based out off their level/species

unique items for this machine could be made if the concern for the other item's economy is too big

-full boxes of eggs can be moved directly to the machine easily, once the eggs hatch the pokemon can be moved to the pc in full boxes at a time too, the machine can't be used again until it's emptied of hatched pokemon

    2. the easy way

-There would be a machine in Mt silver's PC

    -works offline

-can hold an unlimited amount of eggs

    -1 minute per egg

-requieres a minimum of 5 eggs to work

-none or minimum fee per egg/use

    -could cost RP to unlock

if there are any concerns about losing the "OMG OMG OMG" moment of seeing the shiny hatch then the machine could spit out a message that goes like "this pokemon is extremely shy and doesn't want to come out of its egg, maybe if a pure soul trainer like you holds it, it will come out"

secret third option: just let the eggs hatch inside PC boxes

    :3

I think your post is extremely well written and thoughtful, and I like pretty much every idea you presented. However, I still fundamentally disagree with the 1/30k shiny odds. At 1k encounters per hour using leppas we are looking at on average 30 hours of pressing 2 buttons to get a shiny. And that is for a times 5 horde, now for a 3 times horde that goes up to about 50 hours at around 600 encounters per hour. For single encounter at about 150-200 encounters we go up to 150-200 hours to get a shiny on average. Egg hunting is its own beast so lets just say 1k hours to be VERY generous. These are just numbers to get a shiny and not a specific shiny which multiplies the time by several factors. Now the main attraction for pokemon besides battleling is collecting. Now since breeding is in the game, normal pokemon hold no distinct value compared to another of its species. You can simply breed a perfect specimen of that species so everyone can have one. This is opposed to there being no breeding and a 4x31 poke being extremely special due to the near impossible mathematical fact that someone will roll the same stats, nature, and ability on their poke of the same species. So collecting normal non-shiny pokemon does not feel as special. So back to shinies, the average player can hope to get maybe a dozen or so shinies as OT in years of playtime out of the hundreds of pokemon in the game. My main point is that a low rate for acquiring shinies is bad for player experience and does not give enough insentive to farm for them or strive for collecting them. The average player should currently treat shinies as a lottery item rather than an reasonably achievable goal. The shiny market, in my eyes, holds little relevance when compared to player experience. Players need the insentive to grind yes but they also need a somewhat constant stream of reward to keep them motivated. In my mind a rate of 1/15k to 1/12k would highly motivate players to shiny hunt and collect. The fear of the shiny market being affected currently overshadows user experience in my opinion. Also a shiny will always feel special, and arguing that the special feeling of obtaining one is tied to the 1/30k odds is narrow sighted in my opinion (btw that is 1/27k for a good portion of the community because of donator status). These are real life hours we are talking about btw, i could beat a full AAA game in the time it takes you to get a 5 times horde shiny. The sweet spot should be around 8-12 hours for a common shiny the rest should be balanced around that. I know this will never happen in this game but it's just my thoughts.

a x3 horde hunt takes around the same time as a dark grass gen 5 hunt, so it isn't THAT bad, good IV wild mons do hold value, for the player who got it and for others, I've sold some mons for really good prices just because they were wild caught and I have an amazing banette that I use for frisk+thief that is wild caught and that's a good flex but the thing is that wild pokemon with good stats aren't easily appreciable as shinies are even if something like a 4x31 is twice as rare than a shiny, but if u know about it, they're great achievements

and it may be bad for player experience but it doesn't matter that much cuz you gotta remember that this is an MMO, which stands for

    Mgrind

    Mfest

    owo

there are other ways to get shinies and not everyone cares about ot and there always will be the trap card of the economy

this is a multiplayer game after all, the devs have said several times that they're happy with the current shiny market, that's why they're so reluctant to change the shiny rate at all and that's why I'm suggesting ways to make the shiny hunting experience more rewarding and fun but without touching the shiny rates

but yeah, you're right from a player experience perspective, maybe the most common shinies should be more easily encounterable even if that means nerfing their IVs, making leppas more expensive etc and then keep the super rares for the most deranged players only

and there are other things to mindlessly grind for in this grind fest so the experience isn't universal

  8. Every week or so someone suggests that the shiny odds should be increased but that won't happen anytime soon if ever at all

so why not try making shiny hunting more attractive and rewarding (or less punishing, it's the same thing in the end) instead?

making shiny charms permanent for the rp shop is a good move in that direction

more accessible shunts are desirable: good and interesting hordes close to PC, maybe re enabling the ability of some of the non-pc healing places/npcs to refresh the sweet scent pp, maybe introducing the specific Pokemon type encounter boost that some abilities have in the main games

why even bother shunting when you can buy the shiny you want for a few million without going insane hunting it??? most people would say that the OT is super important to them, some that the joy of getting a shiny is unique etc

This importance that the players give to having a shiny that is the fruit of their blood and sweat should be reflected more widely thru the game: any pokemon with a matching ot and current trainer should have a small heart icon, a golden chain or whatever in battle and maybe somewhere in it's stat screen, maybe maybe maybe every shiny species could reward u with a small vanity unique to it, or a sticker/badge in your profile or something for the secret base

having the number of shinies encountered displayed in the player's profile card would be nice too

people spend countless hours at a single spot burning leppas at a rate that's damaging the ozone layer faster than an Australia-sized weezing farm ever could, bystanders report massive piles of leppa leftovers making the zone incredibly dangerous for the unprepared: as people use leppas in the same area the smell and leftovers that the trainer's pokemon leave attract wild Pokemon making natural, super agressive hordes more likely to appear in that zone, additionally, neighbors of the most affected leppa burning zones report horde pokemon leaving their hordes to sneakily get more food for themselves, the rate at which they're found in single encounters is increased, reports of double encounters are scarse but they exists, they may be linked to an alluring scent non related to leppas, and some even report the apparition of single encounters of species previous found exclusively in hordes for that zone!!!

With the opening of the Kanto-Johto border some previously popular zones have been abandoned, after a while the wild pokemon eat all the leftovers and everything returns to normal 🙂

Encounter rate boost for an specific species in single encounter hunts: defeating/catching(catching would be a better option imo so payday and thief could be used) a certain species in a row peaks the curiosity of it's peers, making that species slightly more likely to appear, this boost increases linearly until it reaches a cap depending on the rarity of the species and what other pokemon are in the area

catching/defeating any other species resets the counter to 0, catching the same species in other area removes half of the boost and it gets adapted to the new zone

speeding up the worst part about egg hunting: hatching takes forever and cuz the hatching mechanics are a bit strange in here, doing something other than chatting or checking the gtl is really hard and unviable

some simply play in an alt while the eggs hatch on their phone, but what about the people that don't have another device?

or what about people that would rather do literally anything else with their play time but to sit in the unova daycare for hours hoping for the best

for them, and for all of my daycare residents I present to you: the egg hatching machine with the newest hatching technology straight from the region of Kalos, this beauty can be found in every daycare(or some other cool places) with it your dreams will come true, it can hold up to a full box of eggs at a time being able to hatch it all in only FIVE MINUTES, yes, your heard it right, FIVE MINUTES, but! these machines are quite expensive to run and almost impossible to get so only the best of trainers will be able to use it's full capacity, the minimum requirements are to get it's full capacity are: clearing ALL regions and having the regional Pokedex completed for the region where the machine is being used

additionally, according to new energy law, Voltorb  electricity farms are now illegal and electricity prices are thru the roof so the trainer must provide their own power source (something like a light ball or some other farmeable item), depending on the power source it may last a different amount of uses, and provide a heat source, any pokemon with an ability capable of accelerating the egg hatching time works, the higher the level, the faster the hatching will be, maxing out at 5 minutes (a little bit less with dono ig, or not) with level 100, the pokemon may get exhausted and a replacement would be needed until it recovers (or not, this last part is a bit unnecessary but it sounds cool)

and lastly, a fee of 100-500 pokeyen for maintainence costs per use

during it's use, the pc box containing the eggs will be unusable

    that's it

    !!!!!

    Encounter counter

    ^^^^^^^^

even simply adding "encountered x times" inside the Pokedex would be great

more data (even if not as useful) like "caught x times" "used x times in pvp battles" etc would be appreciated

  10. not everyone can look or post in trade chat 24/7, for those people (most players) it would be nice if offers could be posted on the gtl for other players to fulfill greatly simplifying the process

    something like:

"Coolplayer53 is looking for (item) at (pokeyen)  [SELL]"

these requests would have 0 cost other than the cost of the item/pokemon being requested

for Pokemon the listing could be made using the gtl filters

additionally it would be awesome if when someone posted an item/pokemon matching a request it notified the player giving them an option to buy it without having to search for it

notifying the seller before posting could work too

the trading section of the forums and some places like discord servers kinda serve this function already but relying on services outside the game for it is not ideal

    Well, we do.

It should be pretty clear to everyone that the 'import strings' feature isn't intended to be used to have you skip dialog, but you know that already.

yeah, but at this point it's a bit too late to change it imo

if there's a demand for it then it either should be officially implemented into the game or clearly prohibited and changed so it can't even be done

a strange grey area is not the best place to be in, especially not when it affects a historically picky  subset of the player base

  12. 50 minutes ago, Poufilou said:

So just assumptions ? The message from Rache in the screenshot doesn't seem to imply your theory

there's a button in the game to easily import string files, that's an intended feature

is that the intended way to play the game?

    who cares

I'll play it however it's best for me, that's the beauty of player customization

mods and themes fall into the same category

  13. 11 minutes ago, Doctor said:

They absolutely work, they aren’t nerfed at all and I still farm perfectly fine and fast with them lmao

with the strings that gullzar posted farming works perfectly fine again so yeah

now the only thing slowing me down is the 5k people queue cuz I don't have dono in the alts LMAO

    breeding still sucks tho

I haven't found a way to fix it myself and no one seems to have done it yet
