  1. As a player I'm also frustrated that the best money-per-hour is to just sit at the GTL refreshing the tab and trying to be fast to buy the underlisted pokémon, but even though I might feel that way, I don't think this suggestion is feasible. The problem is that creating auto-evaluation for pokémon is extremely difficult because what makes them valuable is often contextual. Auto-evaluation for items is very easy because all items with a certain name are identical with each other, and it's already done through the yellow and red prices. For pokémon, you would need to have a complex model that tries to understand what's valuable about that pokémon, and then check the historical prices of pokémon that are "similar" to that one, but what exactly is "similar"? You would need to take into account the species, sex, nature, IVs, shiny, secret shiny, alpha, egg moves, particles, and possibly egg group (ignoring species in that case). It would be very hard to get an accurate picture of what players think of as a "similar" pokémon, when the search space is so broad. The best you can do is something like a floor price for shinies in general, or shalphas in general, but it would be difficult to get a warning for "Your 2x31 shiny male Wailord with Water Spout is historically sold for 5 million, but you're listing it for 2 million!" It's just too many variables to find out which sales to compare it too, and it's too subjective what exactly is considered "similar".
  2. I understand the reasoning, thank you for replying. It's disheartening when a feature meant for emergencies becomes a tactic for advantage. However, this change greatly reduces the pokéyen per hour for people who grinded gym reruns and E4. My gameplay loop was to treat this game as a daily habit: Log in, gym rerun, start my day. Now that the route is disrupted I probably won't come back to it after the event. It'll feel sub-optimal when compared both to the past (with log-outs) and the future (with shortcuts). A bigger problem is that this change disrupts testing fights. To route the rerun, we test multiple strategies for each gym to see how it can all fit into a final team. This entails hundreds of fights where you go until the end, and then "forfeit" (by logging out) to try the next one. I recall someone battling Norman 50 times in an hour one time, but now they're reduced to 6. The change makes testing impossible. I kindly ask to postpone the change until official means are implemented; both the shortcuts and some way to test battles. This is a small subset of players, all of whom are dedicated. Thanks again for the reply and best of luck with your endeavors.
  3. Lance's Dragonite in Johto's Elite 4 has Dragon Claw, not Dragon Pulse. Not sure if it's a recent change but it's what he used against me.
  4. I used a Togepi with the held item. And yeah it was the BLKapricorn, sorry. It's just that it had already regrown.
  5. On Johto: ROUTE 31 Go east and talk to the guy with the pink shirt. You will lose the pokemon to complete the quest. Show him a pokemon with the grassmail to get a tm-rest.Fly to violet city. I didn't lose my pokémon. Plus there was an apricorn here for me to get that isn't in the guide. Other than that it's been perfect so far.
  6. No. Much better to have a delayed good experience than a rushed buggy unfinished region.
  7. Can we get a dev to confirm this? Every GM that I've asked has said that it does work, but only for the first encounter. After that, the gender, IVs and Nature of the pokémon are set, but before you encounter, they're not. Is this true? I get conflicting information from everyone, so if possible it would be nice if a dev could confirm this, alphas have been out for quite a while now.
  8. The price of Leppas and Shiny Charms will probably increase due to people shiny hunting the new hordes. Increased demand and also just willing to pay more due to the novelty.
  9. It's just random. Every IV is a random number from 0 to 31. The probability of getting a 1x0 is the same as getting a 1x31, which is 16%. So 1 in 3 catches will be either a 1x31 or a 1x0. For 2x31, it's 1.3%. Same for 2x0. There's nothing more than that, it's just uniformly random.
  10. I know this is an old post but you're missing two evolution lines in the normal spawns: - Seel / Dewgong - Shellder / Cloyster Thank you for the comprehensive list

  12. There's a part of the Sinnoh tutorial that says: "Go north a few steps and avoid the trainer with the blue hat.Go north and fight the 2 rich trainers.Go a few steps west and pick a hidden pearl." The pearl is east of the rich trainers. I don't know what you meant in that part. EDIT: Sorry, I just realized. The two rich trainers are the couple standing east of the pearl. I thought it was the rich couple on the western side of the route, because in Unova the "rich trainers" are the old couple north of Undella. EDIT 2: Something else went wrong, after the mansion I'm supposed to fly to Jubilife City to get to Route 218, but by that point you haven't unlocked Jubilife yet. So really what I had to do was fly to Sandgem and go north to Jubilife, not fly to Jubilife. Maybe I skipped the part where you unlock it. EDIT 3: Ok I just realized it's because I never entered the Poké Center there.
  13. It's the day care old man, it's not even close. He says "Let's make a trade, you give me two pokémon and I give you their egg", which means he keeps the pokémon. Which means he basically has a large percentage of all pokémon ever caught.
  14. The point of the thread is that the OP wanted to complete the OT Caught pokédex. It's impossible to do that without going to Safari.
  15. Very tiny correction: You don't need to have caught all of the Unowns in order to unlock the rare candy in the maniac cave in Platinum, you just need to have owned them. Meaning you can just get a friend to log all of the forms in your pokédex and you'll get the unlocked area. In your guide it says "If you have caught all 26 letter forms of unown go west all the way and enter the room", but that's not necessary. Thank you very much for the guide, it has helped me immensely.
