For Dark Cave: Go from Blackthorn and enter the first cave, go left until you reach the first set of stairs and go down and surf. You'll see a platform directly below you, ignore it and go left. You'll see 2 more places to land, choose the bottom one and stick left, it'll be right before the next ledge. You don't have to ignore the first platform, I didn't realize they were the same connected path lol.

It's probably a low chance at this point but something worth noting is Ditto can also become Alphas that haven't spawned yet so it can spoil new additions, the very first Ditto I got last month post-buff became a Yanmega.

I appreciate it but I decided to let it slide because someone whose takeaway from what I said was "he's just a selfish idiot" isn't someone actually trying to have a discussion. For the record I don't even care about having them for the Pokedex lol, I'm content with 605, I was just saying it would be cool to be able to. We're a long ways off from that if ever though, people REALLY don't like Legendaries in their MMO and that's fine. I think what it boils down to is "people play the game for different reasons". I play it cause (to simplify it) I want to play a grindy mindless Pokemon game. Other people play it cause they enjoy the slow timesink grind of an MMO, I don't think either is wrong, it's just different thought processes or whatever.

I was trying to think of a barrier that makes it impossible to start the game and catch one within a couple days. Me personally I completely agree with Doctor, I couldn't possibly care any less if people are able to get a Legendary 6 hours or 6 months into playing, let people enjoy things but I was trying to come up with a compromise for the "they're not special enough!" crowd. You're probably right though, all the trios share the same/similar BST total and aren't completely busted (aside from Landorus so they'd probably just do what they did with Shaymin for those 3), so if they WERE to release more Legendaries it'd probably be those ones. Maybe others like Celebi, Manaphy etc somewhere down the line. Honestly I'm excited for the future of Legendary additions, I'll never say no to a video game giving me more gameplay options.

Nah having Legendaries is fire I don't care, if that kills the game for you ("you" as in "anyone reading this") that's 110% a you problem. Hell I wouldn't even mind the more OP Legendaries being obtainable if for no other reason than having a fully completed OT dex, there's nothing forcing me to use them even if I have them after all. There probably should be a "barrier of entry" to unlock being able to capture Legendaries though like Mt. Silver has, feel like Suicune, Raikou and Entei might be too available to find. Not saying this is the best or even a good one but "Complete all regions + complete dex + minimum 1,000 hours of playtime" for example. That way not just ANYONE can get them, you have to be an at least somewhat dedicated player. Either way, hoping to see the Legendary Birds become obtainable somehow in the future, they're my 2nd favorite trio behind the weather trio :D.

I switched to RT 38 a little while ago and my Meowth picked one up within 30 minutes. I'm tempted to believe they just can't be picked up from water encounters or something because the disparity in the time I spent looking feels too vast to be coincidental.

Do you remember what you were doing to get quills? Like water, grass, horde, single encounter? I spent like 15 hours after getting Suicune pay-daying the Poliwhirls at Mt Silver with Munchlax/Meowth and never got one to drop, trying to figure out if I was unlucky or if it just wasn't possible for them TO have dropped, a few an hour sounds insane.

Yup 110% this, my Chansey was able to solo everything but Snorlax while poisoned the first time I beat him. Just feel like taking away options on how to do certain things is odd so I'm hoping they let people have this one, no reason not to.

It would honestly suck if this got patched, it's a legitimate strategy I feel like. Then again the Contrary strat for Alphas got patched while also being a legitimate strategy so anything's possible.
