  3. Every year we get 3/4 PVE events (Lunar Festival Event / PokeMMO Anniversary Event / Halloween Event / Holiday Event). These events are usually very well received by the player base. I was wondering if staff/devs would be interested in organizing PVP events. I'm not talking about big tournaments or championships. I'm thinking that opening up a temporary ladder for gimmick formats could be a very fun way to spice things up for PVP players. It wouldn't be much different from PVE events. Instead of entering an elfbot dungeon or beating up npc kids for candies, players would simply have temporary access to a new ladder. Casual rewards for laddering and exclusive rewards for leaderboard achivements would imo be a recipe for success. For instance, for the month of March when there are usually no planned event, devs could open up for a limited amount of time a Little Cup Ladder or a Monotype Ladder. I know a lot of players would really like the chance to give these formats a try. Since the implementation of Random Battles, the PVP competitive scene has taken a big hit and lower tiers are struggling to built up their old player base. A PVP laddering event could introduce new players to laddering and perhaps this could get them to take a liking to laddering in general. On top of that, PvP events would be a great way for devs to support the unofficial tiers of PokeMMO without having to give them their seal of approval and all the extra work that comes with that. No need for tiering, no need for sophisticated meta analysis, no need for fair tournament representation for all official tiers, we are talking about a formats that would come and go. If these PVP formats suck, that's fine, we won't see them again. If these formats are succesful, then perhaps this could lead to something more in the future? I could be wrong, but since there is already a laddering infrastructure in place, I don't think organizing PVP Events would be a big commitment or would require a lot of efforts. Anyhow, food for thoughts...
  4. @KaynineXLforcing everyone to use Night Mode Theme on the forum xD
  5. Yes, very true. Based on what you just said, I would like to also wish an Happy New Year to my good friend @DoubleJ.
  6. Based on the quoting you for no apparent reason precedent, I would like to quote you @xStarr in order to wish @caioxlive13 an Happy New Year with Electrode in NU.
  7. There is no actual definition of pay to win. It's a gaming concept and Urban Dictionary is litteraly the first thing that appears on Google when you type it. I'm entitled to my opinion on the matter and I don't know why you would think you are the authority on what defines pay to win and what does not. I apologize if I sound smart, I didn't mean to make you feel belittled.
  8. Urban Dictionary Definition of Pay to Win: For 1) Does PokeMMO allow players to pay in order to get better Pokemons at a faster rate? Yes, absolutely. In order to get a 5x31 Competitive Mon, it takes several hours farming, grinding and breeding. With your credit card, you can purchase Reward Points, sell those on the GTL and then buy any Competitive Mon you want in a couple of minutes. There is no question that the PokeMMO players that pay will be advtanged over the ones that do not pay. For 2) Is the game largely unbalanced even for people who have skill in the game without paying? Yes the game is unbalanced, but not because some players are paying and others are not. The game is unbalanced because it's an MMO. A player that farms and grinds will have the resources to compete. A player that doesn't farm or grind won't have the resources to compete. Skills are secondary to grinding in this game and that's how it is for any MMO. These games are by design competitively unbalanced since skills are the secondary factor when determining who will win. My point is that, since PokeMMO respects the first Pay to Win criteria, but not the second one, this means imo that PokeMMO is partially a Pay to Win game.
  9. Valuing usage on high ladder has been suggested several times already. It's nothing new, but since it's entirely out of our hands, we can't do anything about it. What I am suggesting doesn't require any work from devs or staff. It's a simple decision that has to be made by TC and that's it.
  10. Please implement this for 2023 usage movements. @TC
  11. Just drop Electrode already. It's enough of a joke already that this trash mon ever got banned in the first place.
  12. I would like to suggest the following Player Registration format for future PSL seasons: Identity By signing up for PSL, you agree to: i) present yourself as honestly as possible by providing your in game name (and smogon name) of your main account(s), ii) sign up yourself and not someone else and iii) not sign up on any alts. IGN: Smogon Name: Additional Information This part of the sign up is not mandatory, but filling it up is recommended. Preferred platform(s) of communication: Preferred Tiers: Time Zone: Achivements: Fluff: Special Clauses The following clauses are optional. They only serve to ensure the competitive integrity of PSL and protect players from unsportsmanlike scenarios. Tier Clause If you choose to add this optional Tier Clause to your sign up, you will only be allowed to play in the tiers listed below. If you don't add this clause, you agree by default to play any tier in which your manager wants you to play. OU: YES/NO | UU: YES/NO | NU: YES/NO | Dubs: YES/NO | LC: YES/NO | DPP: YES/NO Unavailability Clause If you choose to add this optional Unavailability Clause to your sign up, you will not be allowed to play on the specific periods listed below. You will be considered available most of the time for all periods not listed below even if you do not add this clause. From Month/Day to Month/Day From Month/Day to Month/Day etc.

  14. Based on that logic, I would like to know what do you think is the difference between Ambipom using U-Turn and any other mon with access to U-Turn? U-Turn allow the user to switch out on w.e mon gains an advantage against w.e is in front of it. How is U-Turn Ambipom different from U-Turn Scizor, U-Turn Infernape, U-Turn Flygon or others?
  15. ya it's clearly not I agree that Balance probably does get more success in the tier. However, the balance playstyle I'm talking about does not correspond to teams with 5/6 mons with high defensive bulk. That's just not what Balance is, so let's not kid ourselves by painting a picture of NU where defensive teams are getting more success than offensive ones. It may prove that specific point about Ambipom invalidating Hyper Offense. That does not mean that Ambipom makes Stall or Semi Stall the dominant playstyle. Also, look at the list that was put together: Steelix, Rotom, Froslass, Escavalier, Magneton (niche), Bronzor, Golem, Golurk Steelix is most of the time played defensively, I agree. Rotom can be played in so many different ways, so it's not fair to consider it solely as a defensive mon. Escavalier is most of the time played offensively. Froslass is most of the time played as a suicide lead. There are some bulkier versions of Froslass that a quite rare, but those never fit in stall teams, because Frolass is just terrible as a wall. Magneton is clearly an offensive pokemon. Bronzor is a defensive pokemon. Golem is an offensive pokemon. Golurk is an offensive pokemon. Don't tell me that this list shows that the mons that can check Ambipom Normal Stab Moves are mostly defensive, because only 2 of 8 of these mons are played defensively. While 5 of them are played offensively and Rotom is played in several different ways. I think the argument to be made here is that aside from Bronzor and Steelix (the two defensive mons from the list), the checks to the normal stab moves of Ambipom can all fall victim to w.e coverage Ambipom may run: Fire Punch, Beat Up, Pursuit, Seed Bomb, etc. Steelix and Bronzor do not fear these moves.
  16. Perhaps you should make a case for Ambipom being banworthy instead of calling people cowards if they dare disagree with you. Hating on stall may give you a ton of likes, but that is not and will never be a valid argument for something getting banned. Some things I would like to add: I personally believe Ambipom does pressure Offense to an unhealthy degree and I think a good case could be made to demonstrate that. Stall is not the most dominant playstyle in NU, that's blatantly untrue and just some absurd propangada. On top of that, NU compared to UU/OU is probably the tier in which stall is the least viable playstyle and this has been the case for years now. The fact that no one likes 60 mins games is just completly irrelevant.
  17. 20 is the maximum amount of vote options, so NONE can't be a possibility
  18. That's no fun... and people that would select none would be lying to themselves. I'll add it later. Just so people don't get confused, please take note that DocPBC = NONE.
  19. Basically, whenever there are too many possible answers we see that NONE option appear, but it's not really an option, just a tool to select everything or deselect everything from my understanding.
