  1. It's nothing to do with Suspect Testing, when Breloom and Gliscor were released in the middle of an OU tournament sweet bought and made a perfect HA comp out of it and ended up sweeping and winning the whole thing since nobody was prepared for it. Because Heatran is extremely difficult to get, I'm confident that a few people may figure it out before the OU seasonals start and will be at a huge advantage, as IF they are available on GTL it's very likely going to be for a very expensive price. And unlike regular tournaments these happen every 3 months for a huge prize, so it definitely needs some consideration.
  2. First, from an offensive point of view, introducing Heavy Duty Boots will buff Volcarona, Dragonite, Charizard, Scyther, Ninjask, and other mons which are incredibly threatening when rocks aren't up on the field (yes I mentioned Heatran helping Volcarona but if it starts running HP Ground then it's screwed) as it can just safely switch in whenever it likes. Weavile, a very dominant Pokemon in the OU tier also doesn't have to worry about switching in for the risk of 25% damage chip. Let's take Dragonite in OU for example, with Multiscale it can freely set up and with the combination of Weakness Policy (assuming you're fine not getting status conditioned) you're already at +3 and not many stuff can stop it except for Scizor (chip at best) and Mamoswine (if not chipped itself). For the lower tiers, Ninjask doesn't have to worry about rocks and can safely set up +2 with only Steelix, Bronzor, and Magneton(?) being the most reliable checks since base Rotom is due to rise to UU. Same can be said with Scyther, not needing to heal with Roost giving it another offensive option to replace the move, Charizard can use DD or even a niche Belly Drum more safely without worrying about rocks, etc. Now from a defensive point of view, if we had all the regen mons introduced, all they have to do is keep switching out with regen, using Wish, and chipping the opponents team one by one without worrying about being chipped by hazards on their own field in the process. Currently, in the meta ensuring hazards are on the opposing field is a good way to pressure stall to some extent, however, with the current 60 minute limit for tournament and ladder matches (excluding finals) it will just be endless switching out especially when you're faced with a Stall vs Stall match up. An example of something that would be incredibly difficult to break down on paper: Blissey, Slowbro/Alomomola, Amoonguss, Quagsire/Gliscor, Skarmory, Weezing/Sableye (there may be way better options, but this was just a random example) It may be worth also watching some of these YouTube videos: I just wanted to provide an outline here, but someone else will likely give a better explanation than me.
  3. Merry Christmas everyone and also to you too @Rache uwu Hope you all have a great day.

  5. With the new changes happening, I thought I'd share my general thoughts: Heatran I think this is a good addition to OU, with the main aim helping to nerf Volcarona, Serperior and also stall teams with the particular Magma Storm + Toxic + Taunt set. It can also help check Zapdos which has been fairly dominant in the tier as of late. Generally, it's very versatile with a range of offensive and defensive options and I think it will fit perfectly on all styles of teams (mainly balance, bulky-offense) Volcarona Due to Heatran's addition, it will now be forced to run HP Ice for Dragonite, Garchomp and potentially Gliscor, or HP Ground for the obvious Heatran. Jirachi In terms of Jirachi, I think it will be more of an issue in doubles than singles - as mentioned the physical variant can be checked by: Metagross, Swampert, Heatran, Gastrodon, Bronzong, Skarmory, Suicune, Jellicent, Rotom-W, Weezing, Hippowdon It'll be interesting to know which sets people will run for Jirachi. Heavy Duty Boots I strongly advise that this is NOT introduced for singles for a very long time. I'm not sure what the upcoming alphas will be, but without a Knock Off buff or things that will stop Volcarona, Dragonite etc from sweeping alongside making stall really difficult to play against (not contradicting the Heatran comment) this will never be healthy for the current meta. Weakness Policy I think this will buff certain Pokemon such as Metagross, Dragonite, Garchomp* (an asterisk as it's risky beng hit by a Dragon move) and potentially Mamoswine. Loaded Dice I think this will buff Weavile and Breloom (if they run Swords Dance) and also potentially Mamoswine. Overall, it'll be interesting to see how the meta adapts, with my main concern ensuring that HDB isn't introduced to singles.
  6. Fair enough, just remember that people had the advantage and managed to sweep tournaments easily (e.g. when HAs dropped in the middle of a tour), I believe the richer/less busier players will have the advantage for OU and dubs seasonals. Mainly talking about Heatran and Rachi (if it comes in time).
  7. I just want to add onto Weakness Policy, although not as easy to pull off, if Garchomp is hit by a Dragon move then it's like having access to Swords Dance so that will be one to watch out for as well. I think Weakness Policy will be the biggest change for singles, and I agree keeping Heavy Duty Boots banned for singles. @Munya With Heatran and Jirachi being permanent and the seasonals coming this weekend, what are TC thoughts on allowing these mons and the new items (affecting doubles) to happen, as it'll advantage certain players over others.
  8. How come Yanmega gets banned to BL2 but not Durant?
  9. It's a little off-topic and I'm not sure if it's me, but whenever I search a Pokemon name in my PC box it doesn't automatically display the correct results like previously, forcing me to go through all my boxes and wasting unnecessary times, in particular if I was preparing for a tour. Is there a way you can review and resolve this if it's an issue?
  10. Thanks for the change @Desu This topic can be closed by a mod.
  11. IGN: Incognition Motivation: After deciding to start from the very beginning to prove my worth, I feel I now have what it takes to try and manage at the highest level. My accomplishments in terms of managing is: Led Team Optic (OpTc), initially a PvE team, to achieve Team Of The Year 2022, winning 1 Team Tournament and reaching 3 consecutive finals Helped Team Optic (OpTc) reach the last 8 of TCL I Finished Runners Up in Pokemon Challenge League (PCL) Season 2 Won OUPL, finishing top seed in the Group Stage despite everyone predicting us as the underdogs Won other team events (e.g. ENIX/Lava league, etc) I believe I know the community really well, and have still been watching how players have been performing on both, PokeMMO and Pokemon Showdown (DPP). I've always liked to get a combination of newer standout players and established experienced players, but I will warn if I'm picked that I won't be picking people solely because they're my friend or I know them well, they'll have to prove their worth. I've always wanted to lead an active team, so I will only be picking people who plan to be committed and will contribute to my team and the whole event. I would also like to have a co-manager if I'm picked as without support from my previous one, we wouldn't have won OUPL. Discord: Incognition PSL seasons in which you participated as a player: N/A PSL seasons in which you participated as a manager: N/A Although I haven't participated in PSL, I've been around for several years and am very familiar with the quality and format of this tournament.
  12. Time for the Rolling Miltanks to return? @YourAngst
  13. Rotom - On paper I may have to disagree with you here. Although Blaziken was incredibly centralising in the tier (forcing people to run the similar cores of Golbat/Steelix/Slowbro etc, Rotom disappearing will enable several threats to set up more easily, notably Qwilfish, Toxicroak, Hitmonchan/Hitmonlee (both could run SD more safely although having to drop spin), SD/CB Scyther & SD Ninjask losing a valuable check meaning Steelix is needed more, Honchkrow/Absol not needing the 50/50 (again relying on Steelix) and I'm sure there's more on the top of my head. Yes the player base will adapt, but we'll also be losing Mantine, meaning Golbat is the only consistent hazard remover left (defog) and there'll be too much pressure on this mon, but I may be wrong. It also doesn't prevent Rapid Spin like Rotom, so people will be forced to run Mismagius (less bulky on the physical side which Rotom was able to handle) BL2 - I'll give my personal opinions, based on when they were last in the tier and also on a hypothetical side based on current meta: Heracross - Ban (Guts and the potential for SD is too strong, you'll be forced to run Dusclops or a fast bat which loses a lot of defensive investment. Also there's the potential of Moxie HA releasing soon) Roserade - Suspect Test (This previously got banned because Leaf Storm + Choice Specs was too strong, alongside the access to Toxic Spikes/Extrasensory/Spikes etc which Sceptile doesn't have access to) Dusclops (prepare for a million complaints, surely) - Suspect Test/Keep (Controversial opinion, but I think this mon is too passive. I would opt for a potential ban similar to Vaporeon's Wish + Scald abuse, in the sense that it can Mean Look potential threats and PP stall them as the tier is too fragile to handle it 1v1 like in UU) Nidoqueen - Keep (Very strong but with Milotic, potentially Dusclops, and Clefable I think on paper it may be okay to have in the tier for a while) Vaporeon - Suspect Test Venomoth - Suspect Test (It proved to be too strong but this time we'll have Dusclops and potentially Encore/Unaware Clefable so it may be worth giving this one another go) Yanmega - Ban (Only Dusclops can handle this reliably and that's not a good enough reason to drop this) Durant- Suspect Test/Ban (One of the fastest mons in the tier enabling it to easily set up, immune to poison, although vulnerable to burn/para and also fairly weak to rocks) TDLR - The majority of the BL2 mons rely on Dusclops to keep them at bay and that's not a sole reason to keep half of the mons that would otherwise be deemed too strong to stay in the tier.
  14. I completely agree. Ignoring the BL2 changes and other potential drops which is a separate issue (e.g. before people argue that you will have Dusclops to counter what I'm going to say), Rotom (and Mantine) leaving will potentially buff Blaziken (too much pressure on Golbat), Hitmons (e.g. They can afford to run SD + HJK or SD + an Elemental Punch), SD Qwilfish, potentially Toxicroak, SD Ninjask and Sycther loses an important check heaving relying on Steelix amongst other threats. If we were able to prevent Bronzong rising to OU, it may be worth considering doing the same to Rotom, again, the BL2 situation is a different issue. @Munya Will you review the Rotom situation?
  15. It usually comes around 1-2 weeks before the event starts and then runs through the event, so I'd guess it'll come next week at the earliest or the middle of December.
  16. Darkrai is currently Ubers in BW OU, so unless they complex ban and nerf Dark Void I can see this being Ubers. A lot of people have suggested Cresselia as an addition to PvP as it's a good check to Gallade and could be interesting as a support mon/CM abuser On the flip side it could be both that gets released. Thoughts? P.S. Credit to the people that shared this screenshot
  17. I was curious because people decided to freeze Bronzong from rising to OU due to the BL2 mons dropping, but now Staraptor went I wasn't sure if there was any other reason to prevent it rising.
  18. Does this mean Bronzong rises back to OU?
  19. No glitches - every time there's an update it just causes this game to break even more and it's disgusting. Fully functional game > Updates/events
