Oh, sorry to hear that it fled. I would've definitely used a Master Ball for a shiny Lapras! Since I don't do many encounters, encountering a shiny is a really rare and exciting moment for me. Missing out on catching one Lapras would be such a heartbreaking. The Master Ball is perfect for those once-in-a-lifetime opportunities!

I recommend not spend too much time grinding to buy shiny. Hope you enjoy the game doing what you like the most.

As player I believe Pokemmo is currently at its peak; it seems unlikely to make it any better. However, I was disappointed by the removal of the Xmas Elfbot dungeon in 2023
