  1. I would like to point out that both of the finalists in last nights OU toruny used Miltank. Inb4 usage skyrockets and robo is forced to admit i was right xD

Wasn't saying you're wrong necessarily, I'm just saying you have to be careful of Heracross/Blaze teams when building a team with lots of Normal types. I'd like to hear recommendations for Miltank ratings

Why nitpick when we can just acknowledge Rhydon has options

Why nitpick instead of nominating Rhydon for a rank? :)

TL;DR just nominate things for rankings, guys

  2. It's not only about Scizor and UU itself, it's about OU as well. Nothing's been done about those tiers and that's why they are so goddamn shit, stagnant and hardly playable.

Lack of UU officials is another thing though.

Tiering is never going to be the same since Senile left, as much as he was a scumbag he was doing a pretty good job with that, plus the usage-based tiering is just disgusting in our pokemmo meta, we had unique tiering system that was actually working, now we got broken tiers that are hardly playable unless you love 100+ turn stall battles that usually last like 1h+.

First, don't act like any of these metas were that enjoyable. Remember old UU where every team was Blast/Steelix/Plume/Fearow/Haunter? Old OU where every match was Salamence/Snorlax/Vaporen/Heracross/Weezing/etc.? Old NU? OU when we had Curselax or Dragonite or UU with Chansey in it? These metagames weren't fun or balanced, they were super centralized and sometimes even more stally than what we're dealing with now. While I do miss having Senile around, the inherent (and absurd) limitations of this game (no legendaries because fuck you, no Life Orb because fuck you, etc.) are really the enemy here, not the departure of Senile.

Usage based tiering is admittedly meh but remember that was Senile's idea more than anything - the fact that you're now praising him and complaining about usage-based tiering is the definition of talking out of both sides of your mouth.

I think that the split is more to blame than anything, it resulted in some pokes being incredibly powerful (the Dragons, Snorlax, Scizor, Charizard, Gengar) and lots of other things becoming relatively useless and offenseless because of their poor coverage. That said, OU and UU have improved in variance since the ban train started moving.

  3. So i had the idea for giving out awards at the end of the PSL season (kinda like oscars, where they are divided into categories) and i discussed it with Orange.  Ill be your host for this years PSL honors, this thread is here to create categories (i.e best rap album of 2015). Ill update the OP with the suggested categories and people that would be nominated for each category.  Currently, winning gives nothing but bragging rights, but i may be able to find someone to make quality sigs showing off the award.

  4. Yeah and that's Chansey. Look at this from my point of view: if people are reaching for Trapinch to deal with Chansey, something is obviously very wrong

I understand what you're saying, but let me give you a more convincing example.

Recently Shadow Tag was banned in ORAS, mostly because of Gothitelle. Goth was great for trapping Clefable, Heatran, Ferrothorn, and a ton of other walls, allowing stall (and even offense) teams a guaranteed way to break down cores. Clefable/Heatran wasn't the problem, despite being really useful and common, there are tons of ways to beat these pokemon outside of Goth (the same idea is true for Chansey). Gothitelle was deemed the problem because it was flat out uncompetitive.

I think you'd have trouble convincing the rest of TC that Chansey should be banned instead of Trapinch - there are loads of things that abuse it as is and it's not necessary to have Trapinch to beat it, otherwise we would have already banned Chansey for having overly specific counters.

  5. I wasn't entirely serious about the AT ban, but I don't think it's fair to say "if X traps Y then it's Y that's broken". Magneton traps Skarmory & Forretress but neither are really broken, they're just good and they exist. The problem would come from people relying heavily on Trapinch to build their teams and win conditions - if the entire metagame is set up around the execution of one strategy then something is very wrong.

  6. cant WW the last poke, then pp stall (dont know who wins that) also can forgo milkdrink/healbell for rest so you can firepunch (i think she gets that). Although there is something to be said for the ability to support the team and set up sweep.

But i guess skarm does carry toxic often and can out do the healbell. So that would suck

Not to mention that everything in OU carries Toxic

Edit: Rest Skarm, Any Dusclops/Haunter and probably Gyara/Arc/Metagross  combo can just stall you out.

  7. Not sure why we dropped Aggron. While it has little use, it literally shits on two of the top threats in the UU metagame Kangaskhan (Toxic immunity, resistance to DE, and is tickled by Fire Punch) and Swellow. It can also destroy Cradily if you pack Iron Tail and it has decent speed for a bulky Choice Band user.

True, but Kangaskhan does have courses of action against Aggron (as do other attackers). EQ and Brick Break (not sure why you'd run Brick Break) do a solid chunk of damage to Aggron. It's still weak to Surf and only really boasts neutral fire damage over Steelix. Altaria hits it hard with EQ as well. I'd prefer Steelix when it's all said and done - neutral/resisted damage from Cradily, doesn't take as much damage from Kanga, almost the same resist profile.
