  1. now: we're entering in the festivity phase, nothing till Lunar new year 2024: I think only bug fix and minor stuff 2025: they start to program Black/white 2. At first it'll be like HGSS rom before Johto release, for graphical improvement. (add Hoenn gym leader overwold sprite from PWT, animated battle sprite for Kanto/Hoenn, add more unova pokemon walking sprite, ) Next years it 'll become an explorable region : Unova (west) , after some time BW2 will become the new core game, the required rom when installing This is the road imho
  2. That time limit was illustrative. It'd be 1 hour, 6 hours, 24 h... you can implement a consumable item you give him to extend the time... I said 1 hours because it's less the time you can do a full regions' gyms rematches, however it's enough you can enjoy your legendary. Why they're allowed in competitive PVP ? Imho because they have to make money. They release new mainline game > first year without legendary in pvp then they can $$$ sell DLC with tons of legendaries (before it was Ultra games rippoff) or paid subscription to Home Then they repeat with the next game A reset that a MMO can't do. You'll see next year there'll be a mass of legendary dog in the GTL sold at a cheaper and cheaper prize. My suggestion may not be perfect; but rebattling legendaries 'd be an added feature to Pokemmo, just like Gym and E4 rematch. The fact you can't keep it forever solve the aforementioned problem, but you can imagine you can get a lot of items, like the raids of recent pokemon games.
  3. The end credits is already there in the rom. Actually the developers had spent time to write the code that cut off the ending sequence. So it wouldn't be a big deal to revert it back, if they wanna. Now, why I think it was a right choice by the developer: 1) a MMO doesn't have an end; it doesn't fit very well conceptually. 2) the ending sequence feature character, like Lucas (see img above), Brendon, Red, etc, who aren't the MC anymore, because character customization in pokemmo. this's personal taste: 3) the ending credits of pokemon roms currently available in pokemmo are boring and uninteresting, with the notable exception of Emerald. That's nice. The music instead is great. So my proposal is this: instead of show the ending credits, just keep the music. As soon as you beat the champion and come back to your home, play in background the music of the ending credits. That 'd be a nice touch, and wouldn't interfere with gameplay, It comes free from the assets of the rom, it's a waste not to have to listen in pokemmo.
  4. yeah, but I think they 'll immediately jump to UltraSun/Moon as core game, in the same way they moved from 3rd gen to 5 gen. X & Y battle engine had severe low framerate. The 7th generation fixed those problems and shows the trainers on the battleground. So I'm pretty confident we'll see Alola before Kalos. ^^ Smartphone 'd be more powerfull the year Pokemmo 'll move on 3DS. But I think too that they might reserved the 3D region as a separate game/server. The old pokemmo with the existing 5 regions and current player base (including mobile) A new game that starts with Alola, then they implement Kalos, Hoenn ORAS, then they 'd add back the DS region, but no GBA. Hopefully Kanto 'll be return as the Switch game Let's Go (but the battle will remain in UltraSun engine). I totally can see this scenario of two coexisting MMO. Pokemmo developer never bother to upgrade Hoenn character sprites in DS style graphic, nor the Unova into chibi. They have the assets yet from their character customitation, to make a wally or Team Idro grunt, but they're so afraid of copyright infringement.
  5. I guess it'd be problem someday if you wanna sell/trade that pokemon, but you can't because it has the ribbon. New players 'd complain they didn't know so they traded 3x 31 IV Bellsprout, now they have a valuable 3x31 Onix they can't sell. 😄
  6. It seems a bit tricky to implement, as in pokemon games the battle with NPC are predetermined, item, IV and shininess too. There's no randomness like the wild battles. So to achieve you idea, they 'd copypaste the current gym leader's teams data changing only shininess factor and set the probability low. If it's done for a surprise factor, that's a nice idea, I'm with you. But if it's just a cheap way to gain extra 2K $, then I think the dev 'd do somenthing else,
  7. Imho the underground 'd remain mostly the same as the original games, but I like your ideas: occasional swams of pokemon and event like the Regi. It seems doable by the developers. But if you really want a true roguelike mod, that's a lot of coding, it's a new game. They'd better implement Mystery Dungeon Rom in pokemmo. So you have the random generated biomes, with pokemon attacking you, resource management. What Pokemmo could add to PMD games is that after you knockout the wild pokemon in the overworld (PMD gameplay), you have to battle it with classic turn based combat system of mainline pokemon games too. I mean, in Pokemmo I'm playing pokemon emerald rom, it pops out the the battle in Gen 5 engine. The same while playing mystery dungeon rom.
  8. There 'd be a table made by pokemmo developers that link Pkmn Emerald trainer number #XXX sprite (Steven Stone) with HGSS trainer #YYY (Steven stone), and replace that graphics. If you edit the graphic in HGSS, the sprite would remain at the correct scale in Hoenn. So I guess if you impose a gba sprite like to redirect to HGSS sprite with a similar string of code, you'll probably avoid the problem of enlarged sprite. For example Battle Frontier and Pokeathlon aren't currently supported in Pokemmo. You may exploit those unused sprites to appear in Hoenn as substitute graphic. Like you replace May/Brendan GBA with Lyra/Ethan in pokeathlone outfit, from HGSS rom. Then you make a MOD with your custom sprite of May/Brendan in NDS style. I'm confident this way they won't look enlarged. Prof. Birch can become Maximo. Team Idro/Acqua can be substituted by the Ace Trainer of BF. But I dunno if that table of conversion is open source and the devs allows changes. Hoenn really needs a graphic refresh, to stand on pair with the other region.
  9. Your suggestion makes a lot of sense, biologically. But I'm afraid it won't fix the problem. If the +1IV is this random, there's no consistency. Professional breeder 'll continue to use the 31 IV method. And likely downvote your idea because it gives a free vantage. Now, what I'm thinking it should be an item. When given to a parent it ensures +1 IV of one statistic of the child. So if both parents have 30 atk, like in your example , the outcome is actually 31 IV attack. But if one has 20 and the other 30, the child's statistics range from 21 to 31 IV. Just the regular random outcome, plus one. This item granted a better offspring, but there's a lot breeding to raise up everything. But I'd add some extra lucky and randomness. I've got two different idea. One it's that the stat increased is random. So it'd need several tries (and consumed items) before you really achieve what you wanted. If the stat is 31 IV yet, you 're wasting your item. The other idea is that there're 6 of these item, one per statistic. For convenience let me call these item Quill, like the raibow quill you use for the legendary dog. But it doesn't necessarily relate to that method of farming. So we have Green Quill for HP IV, Red Quill for ATK, Purple Quill for Special ATK, ...... In this case I'd say they gave 50% of chance the child has +1 IV in that statistic. Mother with 30 IV and father 29 IV holding the Quill: the possible outcome are : 29, 30, 30, 31 In case both parents hold each one Quill of the same colour, remember the probability don’t add up to 100%, this isn’t how statistics works. It’s more like a reroll of dices. 31 IV 43%; 30 IV 43%; 29 IV 14% So I don’t think such system 'd be balance breaking.
  10. That was asked many time in the past in this forum. Personally I 'd omit the information on BP. I would add more social info like what's favorite pokemon/region and the possibility to select one of your pokemon from the box and show in the trainer card. You 'd be able to customize the background of your card, with some theme purchasable in the shop.
  11. The legendary dogs are not just a random encounter, that's the consequence of Ho-oh battle. I think that was done very well. The dog trio doesn't have much substance to have their own story in a subquest, I'm afraid. What you you were suggesting, that I understand it's similar to the raids in recent pokemon game, it 'd fit better for collecting the raimbow quill. IMHO that was underwhelming ! You make raids against the legendary with some friends in link and get rewards to improve your legendary caught before in solo mode.
  12. There're sprite from that link that I don't like and feel unpolished : swoobat's eye; venipede is pixel mess; some are too much diagonal... But the one I posted in my custom pic imho all looks great, they aren't subpar the HGSS one. Seeing them animated will add a lot. In many cases you find swarm in the grass, that hides a lot. But I don't think I have to justify for a game that in Emerald mixes a lot GBA and NDS styles. That's unfortunate, but people plays it however. 🙂 Anyway my original question was what happen when you play without HGSS rom ??? As nobody 'd answer, I checked by myself. I can confirm swarms are visible, with their pokemon sprites. You can even the partner pokemon that follows the players. So it turns the guide, wiki, youtuber were all wrong saying you needed the HGSS rom for the follower pokemon Likely this was the case only till 2017 when Gen 5 was added.   13. Are there people who really haven't managed to get any legendary encounter in a month playing consistently ? O this is the complaint of people who hasn't got his dog after a week, like lucky other? I'm not sure pokemmo take count of how many time you meet a pokemon species; since people keep asking for a wild pokemon encounter for long Instead of hard encounter cap, we can ask of an increased possibilities in the last 24 hours before a month end. Like they say when you accidentally kill or miss the capture of the legendary dog.
  14. Time gameplay is one of the most wrong requisite you could come up. It's like rewarding someone for staying online, even if he doesn't anything, taking up space in the server. Complete the dex of the region the legendary 'll appear is enough imho. Otherwise you' ll unlock all legendaries at the same time. Nobody doubt legendary 'd form their own class in PVP. So you 'll never find them in OU, UU, NU. As for PVE, I think the developer should have set the level of legendary dogs as 60, so you couldn't use for E4 in any other main plot. Then they 'd have made much more difficult and time consuming maximizing the IV. 3x31 IV garanteed ? that was a mistake. and even 20 free rainbow quill ? If it was for me level cap 10 IV for legendary So at the end casual player would be fine even with a weak IV legendary, they complete the dex and main plot. People of gym rematch will stay with their optimized current team, Some people 'll take their time to farm rainbow quills and sell then the legendary at crazy price. True strong legendary 'll remain quite exclusive. Another way I 'd have preferred is time limit legendary, as I explained in the other thread:
  15. I agree with you. But in their defense the legendary dogs worked the same in original games, just walking around the region, they replicate that. The same logic apply to alpha pokemon over the time you'll see more players with them. It'll be much more common. at that time the dev 'll come up with something like "sigma pokemon". Like they did for secret shinies. Alpha/shiny/legendary are the show for players who play a lot. Nobody here is asking for a legendary as s starter. 😄 If in the next years you'll see more players with those end game pokemon, it's a signal the player base is aging, there's more veteran than new player.
  16. maybe I'm misunderstanding, but there's an option in the menu you can decrease the other player in the screen ? Take in account these days the channels 're more full because many people 's come back to play Johto.

Imho they 'd have implemented the caught legendary & mythical as temporarily : which means they disappear from you party after a bit of time (1 hour?) because they're too powerfull and break free. You can find again the legendary in its place after a cooldown. So you can meet them to complete the storyline and the pokedex as in original games. <<Many player 'd be fine with just this. You can enjoy your legendary for a while: battle with friends, but no PVP because they 're listed as banned. You can crush gym leaders, elite four, etc but there's no way this is an efficient mean to moneymaking, because you have to consider all the time and item (repels, pokeballs) you spent before to catch the legendary in the dungeon, so you wanna use an optimal team of regular pokemon. The recatchable aspect may open to great enjoyment by player, like catch all legendary run, contest who catches a legendary with highest IV, try to have the most legendary in an hour and fight a friend.... I don't think this way there'd be the "problem" to see too many players going around with legendary follower, except maybe the first week the legendary is implemented in pokemmo (which is normal) But for people still complain, you can add an option in the menu you can't see other player legendary follower, beside yours.
  18. First I wanna say the swarms are a very charming simple thing in this game. A casual unexpected chance to catch a pokemon you ‘d find only in another region, or later in the story. I think the great availability of pokemon in the recent games by Game Freak is one of reasons they still sell like crazy despite the flawless. I have a curiosity to ask. I know HGSS rom before being implemented as a region, it was supported for the follower pokemon. But the wild pokemon in swarm ‘re essentially the same sprite moving on their own. So what happens if I have no HGSS rom installed? I won’t see any swarm at all, will I? or the pokemon ‘d be replaced by a generic hazy blue monster, like the placeholder we see while sufing/flying ? For the same reason, it’s a bit sad we can’t have swarm of Gen 5 (beside few you count on one hand) My two cents; but they could have used the sprite from team menu. I’ve just enlaged 300% and most of them looks fine. I know you can’t make them walk around the map, as they miss animations for all directions. There’s many like flying, levitating, fish and the one with small legs that I think they’ll look fine if forced to move on an horizontal path. Beside there’s the ones that 'd be made as stationary. The purpose of swarm isn’t watching the pokemon move in the wild, but battle with them. Generally it’s so crowed by the many players you can’t see them. So I don’t think player ‘d complain for the lacking of wild pokemon movement. 🙂
  19. Maybe the reason the devs didn’t take note of this kind of suggestions is because they were towards guild management, custom “gym” inside weird places. I think some guilds tried to do it for real. But that’s roleplaying! So the developers aren’t involved. The suggestion of TDog is really good imho. It’d turn into one of the best feature Pokemmo could offer in terms of pvp/pvp. The gym leader rematches has become stale, tedious and brainless once you have an optimized team. I’m not saying remove it, but for a weekend (every two weeks or monthly), replace it with a pokemon Go/ tower defence game. There’s a reason if it’s so popular. Isn’it? The challenge HAS to be inside the regular storyline gyms. Because they are well recognized places. Anything different wouldn’t feel like a gym challenge. Unlike Pokemon GO, , I’d say the gym ‘d retain their type specialization. So Pewter Gym (Brock) is a Rock gym. Cerulean is Water…. It may sound bad, but believe me, it’s to avoid people using few same pokemon for defending all gyms. (as it’s in pokemon Go) Player have to rely on a larger set of pokemon if they wanna compete in all gyms. They have to use their brains, there’s no optimized team like in gym leader rematch. But it shouldn’t be a monotype team either. Just like Gym leaders rematches have usually 4 pokemon of their type + 2 to counter. Here I’d recommend 3 + 3 free. There’re currently 40 gym available in Pokemmo. Maybe too many for this pvp challenge. I’d recommend doing only 20 (2 regions and half one). In the other you can do you usual gym rematches for money, so people don’t cry. After two weeks they invert the role. Viridian gym ‘d be considered Dark type (as we don’t have it and fits with Giovanni leader of evil team) Striaton gym ‘d be the only multitype. To start the battle you simply have to interact with the statue on the left of the entrance. There’s no gym puzzle to solve, for the 100th time, people complain about that. You can place a custom NPC so people will notice the challenge is active. You can ask about the rules and having your team evaluated if it meet the requirements. The format is double battle with hold item. Time limited. The level of pokemon is set to lv50. Everybody can try this challenge. even a new player, if he wanna. The only requirement is to have beaten that gym yet. You have only finished Kanto story and just moved to Johto, only one badge. It’s that weekend. You can try with your Aereodactil, one Dodrio from safari and a lv 5 Hoothoot you just caught and three other pokemon (better with powerful electric moves) Good luck! You might win. Now your pokemon team replace the defeated. AI will use with this team until you’ll be dethroned. It’s like an avatar. Your poke aren’t really deposited in the gym. Everything is automated, you can’t select other pokemon for defending the gym. Attack team = defend team, same hold item. It may appear a little tricky, but it keeps things interesting and everything flows smooth. If two challenger players win at the same time (same second), it becomes gym leader who ‘s started later = has won the fight fastest. The other still gain the same reward for clearing the challenge, but he doesn’t get the title. So he doesn’t get the extra income for any minute of being gym leader, as TDog stated in his original post. You can’t immediately battle again, you have to wait (an hour?) to be able to try this challenge again. This to avoid people be stationary in one gym. What’s the reward ? Best way to handle imho it’s introducing Gym Point. Players collect the more they can during the event, after the weekend expires real rewards are sent depending how much you have. From 1 to 10 GP you have a TM (casual player); so on. Top 10 player in the leaderboard have extra special reward. This way I think you avoid abuse of the system. You can check your current GP in player card, if you’re still holding the title of leader in a gym, or the cooldown time for the other gyms.
  20. Pokemon Master is not the best example, cos it's established as a parallel universe character from different timeline 're visiting. So there's a unique Suicune from Kris's Crystal-timeline, another in HGSS timeline and this Suicune in Pasio dimension. You could think the same for Hoopa's ring in ORAS or UltraWormhole. But in Let's go Pika and Evee you could catch more than one legendary bird, only Mewtwo is unique.
  21. It's important to remember that Wonder Trade was only introduced in Generation VI; so it's not something you can experiment with with the original cartridges. For this reason Pokemmo should implement it. I thought to have a healthier environment, only pokemon higher than level 2 can be traded. So you avoid all breeding scrap.

    It's a small thing, but it bothers me every time I open the pokedex it's put back on the national pokedex : bulbasaur, ivysaur, .... but I'm in Unima! I often look at the pokedex to see if I could wait to catch a wild one at a higher level on a later route. Having to search for it by writing the name is not handy! The beauty of the pokedex in Pokemmo is its compactness. I can recognize the icon and click on it. But for the Pokemon of Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova there is too much to scroll down. I have to select the regional dex every time. It 'd remain in the dex you have opened the last time.
  23. I have often found myself in this situation and thought it was inconvenient not to be able to search by route/place. On the other hand, I think that feature 'd ruin the gameplay, the curiosity and surprise of discovering which Pokemon can be found in a place. I know, no one would force you to watch it, But when there's the option, everyone would use it. It's inevitable! XD The silhouette isn't enought imho. So I guess what you're asking 'd be something post-game only, or maybe after you have seen all pokemon in a regional dex. Last thought. Wouldn't this route tab rather be implemented in the Town map? Like you double tap on a location and open the list of pokemon avaible there?
  24. That's exactly what I was thinking while looking at the pokedex. Since shinies are so relevant in pokemmo, why don't add such small detail it'd reward so much someone who tries to catch as many as he can? a shinydex But my question is the yellow border is only for your OT caught, or any shiny, eventually you bought ? (I'm for the second)
