It's not as simple as you think. This MMO took 6+ years to get where it is now and as I recall one of the head developers I think it was Shu has over 25 years coding experience. They made this from scratch basically. At one point there was only the kanto region and you couldn't even go to the sevii islands.

I was stating that I think the chances of hatching a shiny are better than encountering one based upon the factor mentioned by kyu above which @Flareonn was kind enough to bring to the table. What facts? You probably didn't even know of the factor mentioned by Kyu. I never asked you the shiny rate. I asked whether this factor is still active or not and if the role it plays affect breeding.

Edit: I was simply talking about the system that may or may not intervene with your shiny odds after a while of doing the same action on the same tile a consecutive amount of times, thinking you might be a bot since you show the same characteristics. On a side note your theory is a bit outdated but it's not wrong ( Kyu himself referred to it as being the way to understand the odds like years ago. You're referring to the gambler's fallacy. For each consecutive 30k encounters you have a 63% chance of encountering a shiny. In general if the probability of something happening is 1/N(Let's just say shiny rate here) and if you do it N times, for large enough N, the probability of it happening at least once (shiny appearing)is close to 63.21%

I don't want to make a fuzz but I truly am beginning to believe that shiny hatch rates are better than actually encountering a shiny. Why do I say this? Well for instance the rate is 30k. I know a lot of people going beyond that rate and not encountering a shiny. I also know a lot of people who try hatching for rares and actually are successful within a month of trying 1-2 boxes a day. Edit: I'm not confirming the rate is better I just actually think when you hunt via breeding the game prob thinks less of you being a bot or cheating.

You're suggesting like they make 2 servers type of thing, for instance a blue server and a red and each and every player with a IP address coming from China will be on the red server and the rest of the players on the blue one?

Why don't they just implement an in-game translator so most of us don't have to use google translator every time we talk to chinese players. Smth that automatically translates the text from a different language. I can see why he would bring this idea in context because while it is possible to talk to the chinese players via google translate and the copy paste function, arranging with them to meet at a certain location is quite difficult since when you translate what they actually say it could be anything from cloud city (Castelia or whatever) to dragon's nest. In retrospect the idea isn't going to work. To enlighten you.. of course the problem exists... what are you gonna tell the chinese? To put his mon / item / vanity on the gtl because you can't seem to understand where he is? Just a thought.

Same. We were here before limited vanities were even a thing. I also got shit to back me up. One thing though, this isn't real life. The majority of players want limiteds. Thus shinies are less desireable and are used as shit material to overpay for these limiteds which in conclusion is damaging their value. Shinies are being used as replacements for a quick yen payment meaning the average player can't even afford 10 million yen cash as a deposit on a limited vanity and maybe give a shiny with a net worth of 40 mil to cover 20 if that vanity was around 30. That vanity is worth more now and the shiny is worth less. This cycle continues every day. And with traders that are more and more not willing to take shinies as payment and only want yen they are forcing players to sell shinies for a shitty amount of yen against it's true value in order to obtain the cash needed to buy that vanity. By the time they have reached the amount the vanity increased with value. The only reason limiteds are sought after is because certainty. Also Overpaying contributes. Here is why, a limited amount of people have limited vanities and they manipulate the prices of these vanities because they are only interested in selling for an overpay because they know they can get it. Everyone does it and soon that "Overpay amount" becomes the norm amount and then the cycle refreshes.

Just use a ticket to change your appearance and make your character bald.

How can you even compare runescape to this xDD seriously. Don't talk about predictions when the value of a single vanity can rise more than 40% in a month and the value of a shiny plummet 40%. There is no punishment involved, just balancing.

People are going to abuse the idea. They will stay at vending machines waiting for nabs to see if they put decent items and stuff for cheap in the vending machines.
