Was speaking in team chat a bit about this idea. Was thinking of a way to improve the current matchmaking system, so we discussed it and came up with something. What if there was a ladder system, with different tiers based upon your battling prowess(bronze,silver,gold something similar to League of Legends)? Of course, winning makes you go up, losing makes you go down, but there needs to be more depth, and incentives to make people actually use this feature. So based upon your streak, win loss record, etc. you can grab sorts of prizes based on the tier you place in (cosmetics, breeding items, low tier shinies, etc). I think it would give Pokemon more playability and variety and overall make the atmosphere more competitive and give the players another reason to play. Maybe making the duels anonymous where you don't see who you are dueling would reduce the scouting that every player fears. Scouting would be the main reason why people don't use the actual matchmaking at its fullest so making it anonymous would make more people play.
Let me know what you think of this idea, cause it sounds good in my opinion, but feedback is greatly appreciated.

Changed the title to better suit the suggestion.
This would be an interesting idea, but I don't think that it's entirely necessary. Usually a player would immediately withdraw their original party and figure out that they won't obey in the first patch of grass that they take them into or against the first NPC that they fight.
In cases like yours, an easier solution than waiting for your overleveled team to be defeated would be to relog or to use a revive on the fainted Hoenn starter.

The chances of all staff getting together at the same time is very small along with the fact that not all the staff know how to play competitively well, and we believe our time is better spent making tournaments for the community rather than participating in them.

This is something we have already changed with the coming patch.
Players will now only be able to travel to the opposing region after obtaining the 4th badge. (Both past the points of travel)
The text has also been changed to make things clearer for newer players.

I'm sorry to hear that, I was gonna make a request, but then I read that. Ploegy, I just lost my grandmother not to long ago and I'm still very depressed from it so I know how you feel. I hope that things get better for you. :wub:

I do think a forfeit option for PvP would be nice, but for battling NPC's the situation for both Pokemon being immune is very situational and will not happen that often at all. In my opinion, I do not believe the player should be able to forfeit when battling an NPC. When going through the story, battling NPC's should be a learning experience even if you are already quite knowledgeable about Pokemon.
Also, making it convenient for players to forfeit and farm an NPC over and over again to gain experience (this can already be done by closing PokeMMO, but is not very convenient) at a certain point in the game such as Gym Leader would be a little broken and give the player too much of an advantage. It would make it much too easy to get through game instead of enjoying the challenge of going through the story. As I stated before I don't believe two Pokemon being immune to each other deems it necessary for a forfeit button in PvE.
Now for PvP this option would be amazing! Say you started dueling a teammate, but forgot to put an item on one of your Pokemon. Being able to quick forfeit would save you a lot of time rather then closing PokeMMO and having to re-login. That being said I support this idea for duels, but not for forfeiting against NPC's.
