That Poster is biased towards Lapras. Look at that poor Primeape, he can't do anything from that far away! He has no choice but to be pelted by water while all the Lapras supporters laugh at his misfortune. Poor guy.

This will be funny.

InB4 people start demanding 128 person tournaments because they weren't part of the first 64.
I want to run one of those in the future.

That Primeape is preparing it's focus punch, Lapras is just splashing to try and stop him.

An opinion or two about time clause.

First off it's pretty vague. An example being how long will it take for the last match of the quarterfinal before a double DQ happens? Only 1 semi finals match can be played after that. If that semi final match is a 3 turn sweep do we just give up on the quarterfinal match? It feels like it's so vague that it means "when someone gets bored just double DQ and move on"

I think the referees should have more power and be able to determine who should win a match that takes too long. Granted some matches just end up like umbreon vs umbreon with no apparent winner any time soon. However if one person has more pokes than the other at the time out then they should win. If its possible to forsee the outcome and the refs can agree that one person would win an eventual struggle war, then that person should move on.

Double DQ ruins the spirit of the tournament. Free wins in tournaments aren't very fair to all competitors. It's like a person getting DQ'd because of pristine clause because their blissey's health was 299 instead of its max 300.

I'm not sure how that example supports your ideas on this clause. If a Blissey entered a battle with 299 HP instead of 300 it would indeed be breaking Pristine clause and would result in a DQ. We have to enforce all rules.

Enforcing the Time Clause is at the discretion of the host. Nothing like what you described is ever going to happen. It's just something we have in case of those 45 minute stall matches that never end that hold up tournaments.
As far as a winner being declared before a match has ended? Not going to happen. Sadly, a double DQ is the fairest way to end matches like this. Declaring a winner opens up the referees to unnecessary criticism and worse.

I'm trying to get it changed to a 4v4 for next month.

Why 3v3 is like the perfect length...There's is "virtually" no stalling, but the matches are nice length, and there's just enough to see a variety. Also then you don't just have the same teams as everyone else.

...The most common team I have seen in teams for 3v3 tournaments is Snorlax, Marowak, and Starmie.

And the amount of stalling in 3v3 is painful, some people run 3 walls.

4v4 allows for more wiggle room so people can bring a more risky pokemon, rather than conforming to the 3v3 standard which has been plaguing every 3v3 tournament.
Hehe. Maybe some 2v2s or 1v1s.
