For you to play it on iOS you'd need to forcefully jailbreak it and thats not something they seek to encourage, therefor it is not something you should hope to see in a foreseeable future. With that said, wdym web app? You mean browser client? Not feasable either from a developer pov. Kindle fire can run .apk which then allows you to install and play, thats the difference. Plus legal issues can happen aswell im guessing. Same reason as to why they sont provide you a full client, just a shell, and you provide the assets to the client. Not to mention it would then also promote 3rd party program usage in a way less controlled environment.

Bro, I'm not 5 xd

I know that iOS and android run different types of applications. I was referencing kindle as a low budget weak device, I wasn't saying if it can run on kindle it can run on iOS.

I was saying, if things like Eclipse GBA emulator, and the DS emulator are possible on a web browser, then there is a possibility that you could run the client off of iOS without the need of jailbreak. You would need a fairly powerful iPhone though, X and up probably...

Also, I think it's fairly possible yo provide “the shell” instead of the full client through the web as well... I honestly have no clue what you're trying to say XD

Its not the same thing, I wont double post as im mobile and cba really, but simply put its not a valid option, im not a dev here to fully answer, nor will they answer most likely. But what I said pretty much sums what happens, generally if it can crash with Intellectual property theft, copyrights problems (all of wish pokemmo does, and managed to still be online due to all the loopholes, like what I said as an empty shell client, not refering pokeballs  and other trademarked words etc on website aside the name, vanity not having the right pokemon name, etc), while its possible to provide the client, it already becomes a whole different scenario, as explained above and on the other post. Its mostly legality issues etc. Do you really think if it was a possibility they wouldnt have gotten into it already? It means more money on their pocket, so why would they have avoided it for so many years?

Dude, what you don’t seem to understand, is that PokéMMO itself, is not the game, but a code that uses the content of the Pokémon roms. There would be no risk of property theft because they haven’t stolen anything XD. If they would get in trouble for making a web client for the code, then they would have gotten in trouble for making and distributing the code itself in the first place. Putting it on a web app breaks zero laws lmao. It’s literally the same thing they’re doing, minus the downloading process of the shell client. Why would there be different legal issues? And I’m not saying they should skip the part where you supply the roms, because you can still do that through a web clients. Legality issues should remain the same. ( I mean, honestly, I’m not a lawman, so if anyone knows better than me or this dude, please speak up) And as to why they haven’t done it yet, maybe they hadn’t thought of it. Also, browsers have a limited amount of recourses they’re allowed to use from the computers they’re on, and when PokéMMO first came out, maybe it wasn’t a viable option because of hardware limitations. Then again, you might be right, but I’m not going to accept the reply of some dude who was probably salty about what I said on another post, and clicked on my account, and decided to try crapping on my non related posts.

I’ve done a small bit of research, and due to the game running Java, and iOS supporting OpenGL, I think this would be possible to develop a web client for the game. Again though, I didn’t do too much research, and I’m no code genious, heck, I don’t even dabble in code, but I really think it’s possible.

I’m not home rn, but I might try to make it into a web app myself. I want to see it happen.

I get home Saturday, but I’ll start researching web apps, Java, and code if I can while I’m away…

wish me luck =D

The devs have to only provide "the shell" as Nintendo might be looking to file a lawsuit if the game came with the ROM's needed to play

Its much safer for the devs to tell us we need them, but won't provide anything for us to get them

You legit have no clue of what you are saying, please educate yourself on the subject before further tagging me lol. You are just in denial rn, and you dont need to be a lawyer to actually read a bit about specific laws, just do a tiiiiny bit of research on this subjects and you'll see how careful they have to be about that.

On the bright side, if this motivates you to learn anything related to coding, good for you, if you need help regarding programming feel free to always pm and I'll help you, I can provide you some pretty good books for you to learn with if needed.

Sorry, but I never said anything about them providing the full client, I only intended the shell to be set as a web client, you’d still need to provide the roms yourself.

I just thought Rize thought I meant otherwise

Aah my mistake. I thought you meant the shell being the game -Roms. Apologies

I dunno what Razi is on about. Theoretically this seems possible, to provide the PokeMMO client via web app and have iOS users provide the ROMs to said web app.

Though, I’m no expert on this, would this be uploading your ROM to their servers for you to play (ie the servers ingest the ROMs and then spit back out the copyrighted materials)? Or would the ROM’s assets be contained to the local machine (the phone)?

If the former, then I imagine there are legal issues with that. If the latter then it should be possible.

uploading your ROM

technically you'll always do this, as a web app will function pretty much the same as a separated client. You'll upload files to it, you do something similiar on the normal client aswell, except since it's on the same local machine you just provide a path. You can find more info and what I mean by legal issues on some of those 'emulator web app' projects, like https://github.com/44670/desmume-wasm, there also seem to be a lot of performance issues.
