Recommended Posts

  • Darkfisher changed the title to [MOD] PokeMMO Generation II GSC Sprites

Just a note to get through the folders and folks wondering about each folder:

Instructions:
1. Go to the google drive link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/18M0vkxaJpbss5TL5ZmKz4vaSqMK2CwUD?usp=sharing
2. You will then see various folders to download. Each is a seprate version of the mod, make sure you are downloading the version you want based on the following:

Ge2-all-neo: All 1-5 gen sprites with animated front sprites (in progress)

Gen2-all-no-shiny: all gen 2 sprites (gen 1-5), shinies use normal Gen 5 sprites
Gen2-all: All gen 2 sprites including shinies (gen 1-5)
Gen2-beta:
Gen2-classic-front: All mons recieve the front sprites, reversed front sprites for the back view so there is still full body of the sprite
Gen2-classic-no-shinies: Only gen 2 mons have gen 2 sprites, shinies use normal gen 5 sprites
Gen2-classic: Only gen 2 mons have gen 2 sprites

Need help reach me out

Im not pro on sprite mods but I know a little

We are still looking for more sprite workers for the project. If you are still interested, please let me know. We've been working on cleaning up some things recently to make it easier for folks to understand what we're looking for and to be able to bounce ideas more easily. If you're interested, please let me know

I'm so happy to find out this has been updated with sprites up to gen 5, that's amazing!

Would you consider posting a guide on how to create an "all front sprites" version of the new Gen2-all-neo? I see the sizes are different so I'm not sure if it's just a case of flipping them and renaming to back sprite etc.

For classic version I flipped original front sprite and used 12px bottom margin instead of 4px. Instead of id-front-n name it id-back-n for normal sprites, similarly id-front-s to id-back-s for shiny ones. Size remains 96x96.

Sorry but I'm very stupid. What software are you using to edit these gifs because I see back sprites are 96x96 but front sprites are 65x96, and default windows editing tools don't let you resize and manipulate them as needed. Guessing you need something like Photoshop?

hi , is there a chance you make a gen2 - all with reversed front sprites for back sprites? doing all 702 by hand is ... well hard ,or perhaps is there a way to edit them in bulk?

If there is some in the future that you want flipped, Piskelapp can be used to do this, both their website and through running their program on your computer. To do this you'll need to import the GIF. You'll then see a left column, a column with all the panels, the current panel being worked on, and a right column. The right column will have a transform section, click on the the left most icon for flipping vertically while holding down shift to apply to all panels. Then go to the left column and you'll see a move tool (looks like a hand), click it and then move the panel up roughly 8 pixels while holding shift. This will result in all of the panels flipped and moved up to roughly the 12 pixel mark. Then export it and label it as ###-back-n or ###-back-s if it is a shiny and using the respective mon's dex number. This entire process should only take 30 seconds if using a locally ran Piskelapp, potentially 45-60 seconds if using the Piskelapp website (if you have poor internet, download the Piskelapp program, it is roughly 46.5mb and is worth having if doing any type of Gif editing) (I also use Piskelapp for stitching panels together to animate as well as change a normal Gif to a shiny Gif)

Tl:dr
1. Import Gif to Piskelapp

2. Flip all panels using the "flip vertically" option while holding SHFT
3. Move all panels up 8 pixels using the move tool while holding SHFT

4. Export as Gif and re-lable as ###-back-n or ###-back-s
