Hunting Suicune, am I missing something?

Hey! So first of all, I am 100% aware its all RNG, but at one point im starting to get paranoid im doing something wrong. Im coming back after about 4 months away from the game. before i took a break I managed to catch both Raikou and Entei within about 1000 encounters each, so I know I can find the legendary beasts. 

 

However, since ive been gone I see they've introduced the birds in Gen 1 aswell but to my understanding both the beasts and birds are both available just in different regions. I wanted to finish off all 3 beasts before moving to the birds since im only missing Suicune and he is available this month. I am now 9000 encounters dry, which seems like quite a lot based on other peoples experiences (And my own with raikou and entei!) so im just really paranoid something has changed since i've left? 

 

Am I just unlucky or am I doing something wrong here? As I said i have beaten Ho-oh and I have caught the 2 other beasts before. I am 100% determined to keep going, the motivation is high, but im afraid im wasting my time here if im missing some new prerequisite or something to find them since its been months since i caught the other 2 beasts

I hunted Suicune in November for 27 days, playing for like 10-12h per day. We're just unlucky af fam

So it seems like im just unlucky at this point and there is no new prerequisite or bug preventing him from spawning right now which is good to hear.

Rip. Seems like youre just unlucky getting suicune. Keep grinding and you will find suicune. Watching something while you hunt makes it more bearable. If you dont mind me asking which location were you hunting suicune?

Oh ye I really dont mind the hunt, i think its fun! I just wanted to reassure myself i wasnt wasting my time hunting for it and it being bugged/mechanics having changed while I was gone so I couldnt find it.

 

I was hunting at route 45, but after accidentally finding a shiny Gligar (I know, i cant complain about my RNG!) I decided to change location to prevent accidentally finding a duplicate shiny lmfao. Im now at Route 48

So... I just went over to an alpha lapras spawn and on the way there I found Suicune in a forest blocked by a tree I could cut down. I cut it down and release it and it gave me some text prompts about hunting it. Was "releasing" Suicune from there mandatory to find it as an ecounter? I see no info about this anywhere and confused as to what I just did. And if it is, are there more things like this I have to do?

 

I did not do anything like this for the other beasts, i just beat Ho-oh and i was good to go

This is part of the storyline and should take place on Route 42 if I remember correctly (Johto walkthrough). The only condition to encounter the legendary beasts is to defeat Ho-Oh (Roaming Legendaries F.A.Q.).

Alright, thank you! I do remember running into Suicune a couple of times during the storyline, but I guess I just missed this one. I have already beaten the E4 and Ho-oh, so I assume this Suicune encounter isnt mandatory. Currently 11k encounters dry and looking! Spirits are high though, im not gonna let this damn dog beat me. It will be found

I've been Hunting Suicune for almost 8,000 since February 1st alongside with Legendary Lure Once & still Not Found! I already admitted it that I've been Logging Out as getting More Bored & Tired too...
