Gunthug Posted January 29, 2015 Share Posted January 29, 2015 and after that those pokemon specially the genderless ones are rotting in the box xD let's be honest.. i don't care about the prizes at all when i join a tournament... for me its more important how far i can make it in a tournament. even tho i haven't joined any official tournament in a long time. [spoiler] inofficial tournaments ftw xD [/spoiler] i'm not complaining at all... the thing is simply i don't want to invest time / money in a pokemon that might be banned because its a waste of time/money. sure i could have fun with ... lets say for example metagross ... then it gets banned and is useless and you can't really sell uber pokemon unless they are a good breeding material. (and yes metagross isn't a breeding material because i know its genderless its just an example.) the ting is why waste time/money in a pokemon that might be banned? good idea i'll do that. we currently have no meta ( or a broken meta atm) the thing is as said before as long as i don't know which pokemon are going to be banned and which don't there is no point in breeding anything for ou. specially metagross because it might be banned and if it gets banned it would only sit on the box for nothing. you can't sell it because its genderless ( no breeding material) i know it takes time to get a meta done and i'm not complaining at all don't get me wrong there. The problem is, in order to get the most accurate picture of the meta, it is necessary for all competitive players to "buy in" and train/breed the comps that are currently available. We don't want to end up with a situation where people think X is getting banned, so no one breeds or trains X, and Xs usage goes down so much that it doesn't end up getting banned or we get an unclear depiction of its power. I know it sucks training a comp, only using it for a little, and then it gets banned - believe me, it happened to me a lot in UU last year. But on the other side, a meta is by definition always fluctuating. those who can adapt quickly to changes/bans will not only be more successful, they'll actually be the ones driving the changes Draekyn 1 Link to comment

For me as long as it isnt a grind fest of BP, I'll get a comp knowing that it is ban worthy just to have it and abuse it Link to comment
Robertttttttttt Posted February 3, 2015 Share Posted February 3, 2015 (edited) Okay, I know this may seem out-of-topic but since I couldn't post a reply to the original Clause topic, do you guys have any idea why the Baton Pass clause keeps coming up in Tournament Mode even when both trainers have one or no Pokemon who have the move Baton Pass in the team? Is Baton Pass banned in Tournament Mode altogether or am I just drunk? Update: Woops, apologies, I'm pretty new to the Forums and I only just found out that new members can actually post a new topic. Will it warrant an insta ban? That's a tough call - instabans to BL will be difficult because the UU environment will have changed so drastically that we won't really know what is "obviously" too powerful Link to comment

Now it gets STAB Ice Punch, STAB Faint Attack(slightly better than his old Shadow Ball) and STAB Pursuit. 95 Base Attack which is not bad and has 115 Base Speed which is god tier on UU. Will it stay UU? Without a doubt, sneasel is built like a glass cannon so it can only switch safely in on a minimum amount of moves or on a free switch Link to comment

Will it stay UU? It's all about where the cutoff point is put but I'd be really surprised if Sneasel is going to be something that could break the meta. Yeah, it gets cool stabs now but Ice Punch and Faint Attack aren't such great moves by their base power. Sneasel was put to D rank in the last discusson thread and just a couple of weak stabs doesn't seem threatening to me especially since most of the Pokemon got better alongside Sneasel.
