Well it may not be to my taste but I've been avidly following our forums art contests for 4 years now, and all the entries suffer when one of the best artists doesn't enter. Plus it's a good way to teach the lesson that boycotting a free to enter, volunteer-judge art contest is really fucking stupid lol.
