    Like actually for real.. 48000 FUCKING ENCOUNTERS SPENT HUNTING FOR A SHINY ONLY FOR THE GAME TO THINK IM SOME FUCKING BOT!
     
    I spent 264 hours of my fucking life over the course of 4 months, and at least $50 in donator status for the increased odds for this giant fucking jackass to come in say we are sorry for lying to you for well over a year.
     
    I recall a senior member of staff posting a reply to a thread regarding were the donator status money goes too months ago, im not digging up who quoted it but we were told that senior members of staff get paid for their contributions to this game from the donator money. Im sorry but I dont recall donating money FOR YOU TO FUCKING LIE TO US!
     
    Its blatant lying, absolutely blatant and you trying to cover it up with oops sorry, we werent sure how to handle it is in-fucking-excusable. You have literally told countless people either through the faq or through the forums that the shiny rate is the standard rate used in the handhelds, you had dozens of chances to come out with the news that it isnt 1/8192 in all the other threads asking the same thing or in any of the dev logs as a small sidenote that perhaps the rate had changed for mmo reasons.... the only reason you are mentioning it now is because Jay had a crap ton of signups to find out the truth once and for all. THIS IS NOT FUCKING OK
     
    THERE HAVE BEEN PEOPLE WHO DEDICATED LARGE CHUNKS OF THEIR TIME TO FINDING A SHINY WITH THE FALSE-PROMISE FROM STAFF AND THE FAQ THAT THE RATE WAS 1/8192 AND THAT ANY NOTIONS OF IT NOT BEING THAT WERE COMPLETELY UNFOUNDED AND UNTRUE. IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS DEDICATED TIME, IVE SEEN DOZENS OF PEOPLE SPEND THEIR MONEY FOR DONATOR STATUS AND MONTHS HUNTING FOR THEIR FAVORITE SHINIES. YOU HAVE WASTED PEOPLES LIVES ON THE FALSE PROMISE THAT THEIR IS A REWARD FOR THEIR HARD WORK, THERE IS NO FUCKING REWARD.

Then we have you guys with you fancy made up fucking numbers rnging whoever gets a shiny like its some rigged slot machine, its a slap to the face for anyone that has invested any money, time or effort into making this game a better game.

    So, since MVP cup isn't officially happening supported by Thinkie, we just gotta make our own!
    We're going to have a 16-man tournament featuring 2 players per team! Managers are free to take one of those spots.
     
    We're going to allow users to bet on the team they think will win.
    Bet winnings will be distributed to whoever won their bets, but a share of it will go to the winners as incentive to do their best! The more hype, the bigger the prize!
    Probably something like 10% of the pool goes to the winning team.
    The bracket format is TBD, probably full OU, tier shift OU/UU, or double elim with losers' bracket UU. Open to suggestions.

    Now for spectators, this is how betting will work.
     
    You'll be free to bet on any team, and give the money to any staff member (who agrees to help me), who'll take note of your bet and add the money to the pool.
     
    People who bet on a losing team, lose their money.
     
    If you win, however, this is how winnings are distributed

              Darkshade vs Zehkar
     
              Noad bets 20k on Zehkar from Team Eggplant Fanclub
              Eggplant bets 50k on Zehkar from Team Eggplant Fanclub
              Ronax bets 50k on Zehkar from Team Eggplant Fanclub
     
              RacheLucario bets 100k on Darkshade from Team Hats OP
              LeTyrone bets 30k on Darkshade from Team Hats OP
     
    The pool adds up to 250k.
    25k would be given to the winning duo. Say, Zehkar wins because DS is a pleb.
    Noad's bet represents 16.6% of the amount of bets on Team Eggplant Fanclub, so she would get 16.6% of the remaining pool. = 41500 $
     
    The more you bet on a team, the more money you'll get out of it.
    The less people bet on the same team as you, the more money you'll get out of it.
    The larger the pool, the more money you'll get out of it!

    Neither have I.
    Official Events are not meant to be considered 'true' end game content, but rather an additional activity to do on the side with the chance of winning a prize.
    These are things that exist in lots of MMOs but they're never ever designed to reward you with enough value to support the rest of your game career; not even the most prestigious ones.
     
    Dailies on the other hand are a nice idea and likely something that we will implement in the future.
    Dailies generally do not reward players with incredibly large amounts of money, they usually reward a set amount of exp that is slightly better than the usual time:exp ratio.
    This is also done with money also, but again, never to the extent that tournaments give out money for.
     
    The reason exp is generally more favourable is because it is account bound, and therefore it does not matter how many alternate accounts are created.
    It makes little to no difference economically if somebody levels up faster than usual.
     
     
    Again, your time spent creating competitives is not something that is a benefit purely for Official Events, they're something that you use for the rest of the game.
     
    Your criticism of the shiny competitive prizes is completely valid and may be something we address.
     
    Secretbase Decorations are a choice, they're currently not obtainable through any other method and work as a trophy.
     
     
    Once again; Official Events are not meant to considered the final 'end game'.
    They may take this place currently due to our lack of supported PvP within game mechanics, but that is a problem with our current content and not anything to do with Official Events.
     
      Yes, We don't have any substantial end game content.
    This is something we are aware of and are attempting to create, but Official Tournaments are not intended to be a placeholder for that.
    That would be a very poor excuse for gameplay, I agree.
     
     
    Almost all MMOs are a single player experience shared with many other players.
    You're always aiming to improve your character whilst trading away material to others who need them in return for something you are able to use.
    Yes, there are things we lack which bring people together - such as joint dungeons, where players band together to achieve a particular goal whilst earning materials they need for themselves.
    We do plan on doing these things, we're designing things for the long run not just for how it is now.
    With that in mind it's an awful idea to jump the gun and introduce things 'temporarily' whilst the rest of the end game is missing as by the time it is here it's already become half-broken.
     
    I understand that this is especially problematic for the competitive scene as we have no real PvP support outside of that of the top of the PC; and that does not see much, and for good reasons.
     
    Awhile ago I drew up some concepts for PvP aspects for the Battle Frontier.
    They are likely not something that will make it into this update, but certainly something that could be considered "end game", alongside the planned legendary dungeons.
     
     
      I do think that we need better explanation into IVs/EVs/Egg Moves etc. and we plan on doing some of this with the creation of a UI to display the potential that a baby created via breeding has.
    There are many other things that need explanations such as the benefits of EVs and how they are obtained and so on.
     
    These are just some of the things that we currently lack support for.
     
    Optimally we'd like support in game for explanations on tier changes, better PvP support with announcements for automated tournaments and a way of introducing non-competitive players into PvP.
     
    This may be where the Battle Frontier eventually comes in.
     
     
     
    I already agree with your point on the competitive gift shinies but the 'worth' is meant to be in use, not necessarily the amount of money it is able to generate.
     
     
     
    The Battle Frontier will hopefully bring many new PvP aspects that can be utilized by competitive players and non competitive players alike.
    I'd share some of the concept with you, but unfortunately they have not been fully discussed internally so I'm unable to present them.
     
    End game content is meant to take advantage of the best aspects of the game and reward players for spending the time they invested into it with entertainment.
    That's the goal we'd like to aim for.

    Munya, Munya are going to back to making mindless arguments and putting words in our mouths? The prize of tournaments isn't even close to 1/20th of the investment we had to make to be successful in a tournament. Are we saying we need our time and effort rewarded back a 100%? No, but we are saying that the prizes right now are ridiculously low. I think this is time and time again the incapability of staff members comprehending the literal hell players have to go through to be a successful competitor and more importantly a consistent competitor. Senile's post reflects on all the different ingredients a player needs to consistently stay on top of the game.
     
    The prize you have to pay to enter raids or tournaments in other MMOs is miniscule compared to the loot/prize you can win and you grind these components by actually playing the endgame. When we are grinding we aren't playing the endgame, we are grinding for the endgame and this grind right now doesn't stop. Even when reaching the endgame, it's simply not worth it here because of how self destructive our endgame is right now. Again explained in Senile's post.
     
    This fear of making it easy on us will eventually lead to the end of this game (pun intended). Competitive Pokémon is never easy and even on simulators to be on the top of the league means grinding and I think most of you don't realize this. Metagames are incredibly dynamic on simulators and you have to constantly go with the flow, grind information, practice teams make endless small adjustments to a team until it's tournament worthy.

    Hey, champ in the making! Here we will explore the detailed costs of your next breeding project. To begin with, if you are new to the breeding mechanics, the best place to start from is Gilan's guide. Before you start, make sure to double-check your Egg Groups.
     
    The method used will be the simple and (hopefully most) efficient one: Start from a female of the desired Species, with the desired Egg Moves, Nature and assumed 0x31 IVs. Please note that this is a worst case scenario of breeding, in which your wild breeds are all 1x31. In reality you may skip some of these steps if you catch a 2x31. We will ignore the price of pokeballs used for 0x31 wild catches, because they greatly vary (100 pokeballs cost 20,000, so they are not THAT expensive). But from there on, every detail is calculated.
     
    The 0x31 natured female is bred with pre-prepared males of 1x31, 2x31, 3x31, 4x31, 5x31 and 6x31, using everstone+brace on each breed. It depends how many 31s you need, if you only need a 4x31 natured comp, you stop after the 4x31 male.
     

     
    Thanks to PandaJJ, we have now estimated the average number of wild catches and associated costs required, on average, to ensure we have all the 1x31s we need for each step.
     
    Each rectangle is a 1x31, 2x31 up to 6x31 MALE of the desired EGG GROUP.
    Start with a 0x31 FEMALE with egg moves ($600 for 3 pokeballs, parents and baby). Gender Selection +1.
    Pass the nature to the EGG MOVE FEMALE ($400 for 2 pokeballs, father and baby, 1 everstone). Gender Selection +1.

    IV Breeding will commence:

    Personally I feel like 2-4 million in prize value is fair as a prize for a tournament, it is certainly an improvement of the system that doesn't seem to be particularly popular with players and I can see where some of the more legitimate complaints are coming from.

    Let me tell you a story.
     
    The young Raaidn was having a good time playing pokemmo, winning officials and winning shinies. Since he was a lazy and spoiled brat his only way of making money was selling said shinies. He once stopped playing for some months, but when he came back he discovered to his horrors his only way of making monie$$ was no longer viable, cuz of something called "Gift shiny comps". 
     
    I discussed with team mates and appearantly the reason for tradeable shinies no longer beeing used for prizes is RMT?
    Even if thats correct, I feel like it's wrong to punish the whole community for that. Sure it's nice to win a shiny comp from time to time, but I'd also like to be able to win tradeable shinies. Why not at least have a mix of them both?
     
    TLDR: do the right thing and bring back normal shinies as prizes, so I dont have to play grindmmo
     
    Edit: ppl spend alot of time trying to win these things, and when the prizes become laughable I feel like the mods are shitting on ppls hard work (looking at u shiny gift koffing)

    I think Plizard an old GM (rip) leaked the information once, but I'm not sure if GMs even have access to that kind of information. But like Gunthug said, I don't mind the rates being higher. I just mind that we are being lied to and that the developers and staff keep denying it and replying with a sarcastic 'ooooo conspiracyuuuyyy!'
     
    Not only that but they are literally SCAMMING people that buy donator status for shiny hunting (a lot of people) by saying the rates are 1/7373

    Since I was last time not allowed to post here no I do with my idea.
    To the point of my idea:
    How about a item which can be only used once to lower a iv of a pokemon by 1 to maybe get the perfect Hp on it. I breeded a lot of things since the new patch and I really like the breeding system and want to say thank you first. But my problem is that a lot of times i won't get my wished Hp on it because one Iv fucks it up by mistakely passing. So I thought about a item where you can set down a iv of a poke by 1 once (so you can get a Hp if one stat is "bad" but not if more need to be changed). I don't know how it could affect the current state of the game but think about it and give me a reply.
