    I've heard from a very respected poster that 2017 will be a big year for pokemmo.

    2017 Will be a big year for pokemmo. I think this will be the year with alot of focus on Johto and Sinnoh as regions. The devs have openly stated that they will not use romhacks for this. Currently the client already uses resources from gen 4. We can be safe to assume we will get gen 4 like this as well. However because of compatability issues we will likely see alot of differences in the core gameplay. All of the gen 3 stats and abilities will be edited to match gen 4. They might even decide to use the resources from soul silver instead of fire red for kanto to give it a more streamlined effect and allow travel between regions to be easier. Hoenn will remain the only 3rd gen region left, graphically, or the game could come with a mod preinstalled that changes the buildings and stuff to match gen 4 aesthetically as well. They might just graphics mod kanto as well and add a third port im vermillion to save time instead. This would mean blocking off the entrance to kanto from johto as well. With all the new mons and items the meta will be much different. They will most likely start to tease this around the first few months of 2017 then around summer time they will have public tests of whatevers coded in at that time (so like the first few gyms). By the end of 2017 they should have a barebones version of johto or sinnoh working through the storyline and gyms. This will be like sort of like a rebirth of pokemmo, transitioning from the 3rd gen into the 4th gen mechanics.
