  1. Short answer is : No it doesn't matter. Long answer is people have been using ditto with 31 252 defense and 0 - speed just in case the game ends in a situation where both Pokémon on the field die against each other and it comes down to a Ditto vs Ditto duel, both can't transform so they will struggle and the Ditto with maximized defense will win that duel. You could play a thousand games with Ditto that I doubt this scenario would ever happen, so it's completely OK to ignore it. The Zoroark case is also a thing as Munya mentionned but facing Zoroarks in OU is even more unlikely than Ditto
  2. @gbweadThere was a discussion thread for Dugtrio's ban from UU, you can refer to that to know why it was banned. There was another one for its ban from NU ... At least as far as I know there was, and it took a whole year to conclude to a ban, so I'm sure there's plenty of material there for you to read. If you want it to be banned from all tiers you aren't taking the issue from the right angle, if you are just doing that for no purpose other than tiering consistency then you should look around you and realize this is Pokémmo. Yes a mon doesn't have to be proven banworthy in OU for it to be banned in another tier. We have proven it banworthy in NU & UU and from that it was banned, it's all that matters
  3. I would love to know which mons available in Under Used could use the assault vest effectively as I believe this item isn't used on any Pokémon currently. To me it doesn't help against P2 in any way, all the more since with AV you lose access to Toxic which is the main way for beating P2, so only mons that would work are fight type. Knowing that the main special threats in the tier are Yanmega and Sigilyph I'm not sure Machamp would ever be a good holder... Out of all the mons you named, Machamp is the only one that can actually check P2 offensively (and to some extent Heracross but it doesn't have access to Drain Punch for sustain). All the others are just hard hitters but they still lose to P2 as they won't be able to OHKO while getting OHKO'd back (Salamence Staraptor Crawdaunt). Btw they are also suspect tested to leave the tier soon, so I'm not sure using them as an argument for reintroducing a defensive Uber is any good. To be honest if you really wanted to test all BL mons because you're lazy to think about their real power level by yourself go ahead and just drop them all and we see how it goes, if anyone still plays UU... 💀
  4. Darmanitan in OU can't really be compared with Staraptor in UU First difference being the speed tier, most of the offensive meta is faster than Darmanitan (95) in OU, when most of it is slower than Staraptor (100) in UU. Add to that the popularity of weather teams that outspeed and nerf Darmanitan's power when Scarf Staraptor doesn't face such issues in UU. Second difference being that Staraptor has access to 2 useful immunities that allow him to enter the field against certain Pokemon for free, when Darmanitan struggles with that aspect. Sure they aren't the best immunities to have especially in UU which has plenty of levitators and flying threats and not too many ghost moves being used (mostly mismagius & spiritomb), but it's still something Third difference is the realistic amount of mons that can safely switch in (only Bronzong for Staraptor) or abuse locked STABs. Garchomp, Dragonite, Salamence, Chandelure are all threats than can reclaim offensive momentum after a Darmanitan Flare Blitz kill. How do you get such a thing with Staraptor in UU ? I can only think of Bisharp that could setup in the face of a locked STAB but it currently isn't as viable as the OU mons I named (mostly because Poli/Crawdaunt are issues for it). Your only option is pretty much switch to Bronzong/Rhyperior or sac and use priority to Revenge Kill. That's way too restrictive imo When it comes to prios, hazard weaknesses and recoil damage, they both share flaws so I agree in some way, one hates Aqua Jet the other is weak to Ice Shard. And while Staraptor is immuned to Spikes/Tspikes, Darmanitan is immuned to Will-O-Wisp crippling. You could say their flaws are on even footing, but their strenghts aren't
  5. Good thread, yet again. Choice Band Staraptor is absolutely impossible to handle in UU with the lack of reliable answers such as Skarmory. As Azphiel noted, it may not instantly break through Bronzong, but with access to moves such as Uturn and Close Combat which aren't resisted it can quite easily take it down over time. Sacrifying Pokemon with Rocky Helmet to kill it through recoil is obviously an option but that means Staraptor still broke through your team When it comes to its speed tier, currently the only viable mons that are capable of outspeeding it are Mismagius, Zoroark and Durant. Out of those 3 the most relevant is Mismagius as it could switch in on any move except Brave Bird, and threaten with Thunderbolt : 252 SpA Life Orb Mismagius Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Staraptor: 174-205 (108.7 - 128.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO The other 2 can't really threaten it as effectively. We may also take Scarf Rotom into account for Revenge Killing, but locking in an electric move isn't really a safe option either When it comes to priorities, surely Ice Shard Mamoswine/Cloyster killing after rocks is the most relevant, sadly with the amount of water pokemon being used being forced into those could result in an heavy lack of momentum. If you combine how hard it is to switch in on Staraptor without sacrifying a Pokemon and how hard it will be to revenge kill it, all the more when not knowing which choice item they are using, you can only come to the conclusion that this Pokemon is Offensive Uber for the tier.
  6. Most of the actual UU/NU playerbase that we had just quit because too many changes going on that makes any team you build unviable within a few weeks That leads to people feeling they are wasting their time learning knowledge that will not be useful in the future The rewards for all ladders are quite bad and it would be cool to get a bump to those, but it's not really the only issue
  7. Blatant lie @Zokuru Feraligatr's most effective sets lose (or at least can lose) to every other water threat and as you mentionned there are plenty in the metagame Blastoise on the special side is a completely different type of mon checked by different stuff than what Crawdaunt/Sharpedo/Feraligatr are, so sort of can't compare the 2 of them Blastoise on the physical side is not problematic in any way Would you be so kind as to name mons that can offensively check Crawdaunt that can't offensively check Feraligatr since you're claiming it's easier to offensively check Crawdaunt as far as I understand ? I see potentially Rotom Mow that would fear DDance + Icepunch from Feral but doesn't fear setup from Crawdaunt as much, but that's about it. I would actually claim that more mons are able to offensively check Feraligatr due to its much weaker Aqua Jet, should refer to Azphiel's +2 jet calcs for that aspect
  8. Good thread, should ban. Don't think there is much to add to the OP
  9. lol yea let's make the tier a total coinflip by allowing 10 uber offensive mons why not
  10. Also how come the same council that wanted to ban Feraligatr just a few months ago is now tolerating Crawdaunt, a mon that has the exact same set and 150% of Feraligatr power to the point that Feral has been fully replaced by it and its usage dropped to the ground ... When I argued about possible answers for Feral with Poli & Toxicroak then I got argued back by a lot of people that they were at best shaky answer and not that good in the metagame, but now we have this powerhouse allowed and it's completely fine ? I'm still looking for a coherent decision there
  11. Wasn't Staraptor quickbanned to OU when it got its hidden ability in the first place? Nobody ever argued it would be any good in OU, the only reason it went is because it was too good for UU. I don't even wanna talk about Salamence
  12. Funny that when you google "OpenJDK Platform Binary" the first thing you see is someone asking why it's using 100% of CPU :'D But this launcher is open source so doubt it's a bitcoin miner, it's just performing badly
  13. We got a lot of new ones recently, Golem today too. They said "~60 lines" we didn't even know if it was 60 exactly or like 64 or if it was 60 counting the existing ones or 60 new ones xD I guess we'll never know when it's really over 😄
  14. Because the price of the mon on the market is related with the amount of money required to breed said mon As you may know, you need to spend items "power braces" that cost 10k each to transmit IVs. Their value isn't purely speculative, if the value goes bellow the cost of breeding one, people will buy these and stop breeding more because they are not worth crafting, hence the offer will decrease and the demand is roughly constant (because there are always new players that need to buy new competitive pokemon, even old players keep making more and more competitive pokemon with specific techs) Also the way to "consume" mons is quite simple, and is the same process as vanities. When some account goes inactive, all of their belongings become dormant for an indefinite amount of times hence are not available on the market anymore, or when the active players are holding onto theirs. That's the same effect with mons like Gengar, once you have it you don't have any more reason to sell it unless you drop competitive, or some update brings a new ability that makes the old 5iv pokemon unviable. That happened recently with the Hidden Abilities and you can see if you look close enough that the Pokemon like Gliscor or Sharpedo that got great Hidden Abilities are now much cheaper than they used to be (for the non Hidden Ability 5iv pricing) because people want to get rid of these to make the new version of the comp 🙂 But overall the pricing of competitive mons fluctuates more around 800-950k. If you are paying 1.2 million for a Gengar, you are not looking at the right place
  15. Shiny Bisharp (egg) > 12 pearls Shiny Floatzell, Rhydon, Tentacruel, Durant (Hordes) > 4 pearls
  16. Might revive the tier discussion thread 🙂
  17. Nah I use 6 lvl 100 comps all fire or dark type and beat the easy mode without much issues to get my Paladin's Shield Of course you need some basic understanding of what the boss does but it wasn't that tryhard. I call it fair The hard mode requires specific strategy and team composition but that is only natural, my main issue being the amount of consummables required and the amount of RNG there was to farm it consistently with most popular methods I've seen.
  18. This guide doesn't specify but you need all 4 regions done for Spiritomb to appear Great work with the locations otherwise, I spent soooo much time with the Sinnoh visual bug that makes it look like the path to Mount Coronet is blocked Edit : 10/11 it appears wisps are still available even if the Pumpking battle is closed
  19. You put the same IVs for totally different prices, this is very confusing
  20. It is not yet available. It will be whenever Wailord Alpha is released into the game
  21. There will always be good and bad Pokemon. This game isn't trying to artificially balance all mons, if that's what you like you should look at Smogon's Other Metagames I'm sure one has what you are looking for
  22. I realized that if your session was active very recently you will automatically skip the queue 🙂 Indeed there might be a risk when it's a queue time but haven't had an issue so far

    Coinflips.

I mean it wouldn't be fully useless but it's not a needed implementation. There are a lot of similar commands that could be added to the chat to improve UX that won't ever see the light of day. Let's see if people want that toss a coin function. To be honest it could be fun to use in PVP 🙂

    Coinflips.

There's no skill with that, nobody is interested. Betting is non official and purely a player thing, there are a lots of scammers in each event that just don't pay their bets anyways and it's none of the staff business to punish them. But you can still make a good amount of money if you put your money on the right player, it's not just randomly picking between 2 there is knowledge involved.
