    Season's greetings!

A massive icy bird has taken down Santa's sleigh while he was trying to deliver presents for the year! Keep an eye out for it in Kanto. Lost Presents have been scattered all over the world. Recover them and return them to Santa for special prizes, but beware of mimics. Collect them for a chance to befriend Santa's special Alpha Delibird! Santa's favorite workshop helpers have escaped and are swarming in the world! Keep an eye out for Holiday Swarms featuring rare species. Capture them and return them to the nearby Elfbots to receive Mysterious Balls with higher than normal Shiny-rate chances.  Holiday magic is in the air, increasing the base Shiny rate of all encounters by +20% for this event. This effect stacks with normal Shiny charms and Donator Status. PokeMMO's Holiday Special will end on January 2nd, 2024 when the in-game timer for the Holiday Charm is completed. Players will have 2 days to turn in any remaining Lost Presents

YsgramorOAnao reacted to HigorHD84 in Item to increase IV in pokemon gift
We currently have many types of pokemon gifts, including:
    1- Starters
    2- Pokemon given by NPCs
    3- Pokemons Traded with NPCs
    4- PvP tournament prizes
    5- Capture event prizes
    6- PvP reward

The main difference between gift pokemon and normal ones is that they are non-tradeable and cannot be bred. From this we know that there is no way to change the IV and nature of these pokemon.
With the release of new pokemon such as Shaymin and the Legendary Beasts, items were added that change IV and nature (herb of nature, gracidea, rainbow quill),

My suggestion is that an item that changes the IV of Gift pokemons be added and that the nature herb works on them too.

In the original games we have an item that already plays a role similar to this, they are the Bottle Cap. For copyright reasons (as the name of the Assault Vest item was changed to Assault Gear) I made these sprites using the bottle cap and vitamin (item that boosts ev and pp) as inspiration:
    IV UP  / IV MAX

So that these items are not so unbalanced, IV UP would increase or decrease one of the IVs by one point, IV MAX would let the user choose a value between 0-31 of an IV.
These items could be obtained as pvp rewards, purchased from NPCs for a fair price or as prizes from Events or Tournaments.

With the addition of these items to various pokemons for pvp rewards or catch events, even the starters will have more viability and be used more. Many Tournaments and Events give out shiny Pokemon as prizes, making them more viable will be a good choice.

YsgramorOAnao reacted to tutledragon in Alpha trade-ins or other way to remove alphas from circulation
    Identifying the Need
Alphas are currently only removed from the economy by breeding. For most alphas and egg groups, this helps create a stable demand to meet the supply of new alphas that are caught every day. Genderless and female only alphas, on the other hand, are not desirable for breeding and are not worth catching. As of writing this post, the cheapest alphas on the GTL are about $8k. They are both Kangaskhan and Miltank, female only pokemon. After yesterday's alpha swarms, they dipped as low as $5k. After listing fee and a conservative estimate of 3 timer balls used, it costs $4,600 just to put an alpha on the GTL. For only $600-$4k profit, these alphas are simply not worth the time to catch. They are disappointing spawns, ignored by many. Of the players who do head over to the swarm, many simply kill for candy and leave. Since alphas appear only once per in-game day, they should have higher intrinsic value. "Trash alphas" are not a valuable or enjoyable part of the player experience or alpha system, and an adjustment should be made to fix the issue.

    Proposed Solution
I am proposing a trade-in system for players to give alphas to an NPC in exchange for items. The Baron NPC does this with Prismatic Pearls, keeping a floor on the price of shiny pokemon, and I think a similar system will help the alpha economy. The amount is up for debate, but for the purpose of brainstorming I'm going to say any alpha should be worth at least $20k.

    Potential exchanges for an alpha:
Power braces corresponding to the x31 IVs of the alpha Would also reward more value for trading in higher IV alphas Reduces the amount of pokeyen currently destroyed by buying braces, may contribute to inflation. Ability Pills May increase inflation for same reason as above Might be too valuable of an item for an alpha trade-in More exp candies Would be boring, but better than nothing Alpha rewards chest with chance for exclusive vanities Very fun Has smaller effect on global pokeyen consumption rate Hard to precisely predict effects on alpha market since popularity plays a large role in vanity prices Some people may dislike the addition of another loot box style item Beast balls or other alpha catching pokeballs Would also improve alpha catching experience They look cool Could just make Kurt do it and skip the effort of creating another NPC
Any of these options would bring intrinsic value to alpha pokemon and put a floor on the price of alphas like Miltank and Kangaskhan

YsgramorOAnao reacted to JavB25 in Blaziken can no longer be forgotten.
blaziken cannot continue to be the most forgotten starter.
blaziken is the only starter that does not have its hidden ability for obvious reasons; I would be very very strong and in Ubers for life. But it's unfair that he's not yet given some kind of buff to compensate for the lack of his ability.
    I have 2 proposals:
1- Improve its statistics in base speed, with a small increase in its base statistics such as 10,15 or 20 points in speed, the Pokémon would no longer miss its hidden ability so much and thus it would not be so far from the rest.
2- Introduce your hidden ability (Impulse) but with conditions or nerf.
for example: That in each turn of blaziken his speed only increases +1 and cannot increase further.
It would be a considerable nerf but it would make his ability useful and the pokemon useful as well.

Finally they could only remove the sword dance and corpulence

sometimes ppl just feels like wishing if there was a way to hatch eggs on their secret base but there is no way.

this might be impossible i guess since the original games doesn't have it but if it's possible for devs to make , i guess it would be great.

YsgramorOAnao reacted to VelvetLlama in Can we bring back LC (LittleCup) Tier Officially?
Hello! I am VelvetLlama. This is going to be my suggestion on bringing back the LC (Little Cup) tier Officially. I saw it was an Official Tier back Pre-2020. (Announcement was made stating they are ending the tier officially on Dec. 28th 2020) but I think enough time has passed and still see an active community in the Tier that it should be taken into consideration to bring it back.
I have some reasons why I think we should bring it back officially. First one is because it is one of the unofficial formats that I have been seeing a lot about it again. We have the LCPL (Little Cup Premier League) tournaments that are held yearly with HUGE prize-pools, the PokeMMO World Cups, and also the LC club weekly tournaments. Along with the Recent Patrouski Video on covering the Multiverse Tournament that is coming up has shed a lot of light onto the semi forgotten tier.

There has been some discussion about dilemmas and solutions of the tier in previous topics that are on the forums. Like example, “The LC tier had a lot of bans and even ability bans (Download). Devs do not like tiers with a lot of bans.” The most likely problem is that tiers with high ban-lists are difficult to control. So a solution is simple: Leave the LC still under the control of the LC Club. What club leaders or moderators of the club can do is notify the devs in case of Bans on the monthly movement thread when the next one opens like I assume the tier council already does for the other tiers. The LC tier did not have a large player base because devs did not give us LC matchmaking, so that's an easy fix as well. Will they most likely have a smaller player-base on start? Yes, I believe that it's normal with any introduction of something new. But the player-base will increase with time, especially when most lucrative tours are on LC, so a lot of players will want to play and go for these prizes. Like the Multiverse Tournament stated above. I don’t think it would impact the other tiers at all. As they all already have a decent player base. Some might say that The LC tier didn't have a very versatile meta-game and was always defined by very high usage mons that usually ended up banned. But isnt that how OU is currently is to a point? Take example Gallade and the sharpness ability. Was brought in, Banned instantly due to how overpowered it was and its usage, and now it has been nerfed hard. Each Tier has its ups and downs but overall I think bringing back this Tier officially would be a good thing for alot of people as it brings a more unique experience with PokeMMO and its PvP.

    Dear @Rache,

I believe you are mighty and wise, so the decision to buff the Sharpness Boost from x1.3 to x1.4 is unlike you. Here are a few reasons why this decision would be imo a mistake:

    1. Unnecessary
Players are completly fine with Gallade falling in usage in OU or remaining in Uber. There is no purpose in rocking the boat for no reason.

    2. Inconsistent
When Wobbuffet (previously Untiered) gained Tickle, it became Uber. Devs nerfed Shadow Tag and Wobbuffet fell to untiered.
When Gallade (previously NU) gained Sharpness, it became Uber. Devs nerfed Sharpness and Gallade remained OU.

Why make a custom change to Sharpness in order to buff Gallade who is already OU, but not make a custom change to Shadow Tag in order to buff Wobbuffet who is rotting in untiered? If you chose to let Wobbuffet rot in untiered, you should follow the same logic and let the chips fall where they will when it comes to Gallade.

    3. Inauthentic
We have a few nerfs, adjustments and changes in PokeMMO, but most of them are done with the attempt to stay true to the original games. We have a lot of abilities and items that buff dmg in this game, but there is no buff in this game that can give a 1.4 boost to anything:
x1.5 boost: Hustle, Torrent, Blaze, Overgrow, Swarm, Choice Band, Flare Boost, Guts, Technician, etc. x1.3 boost: Life Orb, Sheer Force, etc. x1.2 boost: Expert Belt, Miracle Seed, Mystic Water, etc. x1.1 boost: Mucle Band, Wise Glasses, etc. You can look at every single Pokemon game and there is no such thing as a 1.4 boost, so this would be unprecedented. This would open up the door to infinite amount of possibilities in the future when customizing nerfs and it would ultimately make the game unrecogizable. Buffing the Sharpness Boost to 1.4 would be the first step in alianeting PokeMMO for the original games.

    4. Disrespectful
When something gets banned, nerfed, moves up, moves down, players deal with it, adapt and move on. What's done is done. However, Sharpness was just nerfed a few months ago. Why buff it right away? Why reopen this wound? This is so dangerous because we could end up with a situation where Sharpness will have to be nerfed again. Players will have to constantly readjust based on every change and this is very costly, but also all the usage gathered will be put into question everytime a change occurs. What if Sableye rises to OU during the month Sharpness gets buffed to 1.4? What if it drops right back the following month when Sharpness gets nerfed to 1.35? This makes the game unpleasant for the players and corrupts tiering data which makes the job of TC harder.

With that being said, I implore you dear @Rache to not go forward with this change.

    Best Regards,
    gbwead

Making custom changes to the game to balance an ability that shouldn't have been introduced in the first place is simply unacceptable.
What's more stupid is the logic behind this, so if the pokemon drops to UU it should be buffed to remain at OU? what the fuck.

Ultimately you're trying to convince the devs.
